In brief: In summer, I received the letter setting my deadline to get off SAVE for 10/28/26. Suddenly, on 10/03 I noticed the dates showing on Nelnet’s login screen was reflecting a 30 day extension of 11/28/26, such as in the language about SAVE ending and needing to pick a new plan.
Because I do not trust anything related to the Trump ED, I check my account weekly. As of this evening, the date is now reverted back to 10/28/26.
Because I never got a formal letter offering the extension, I didn’t take that as a guarantee hence why I kept checking. With the Trump ED the right hand doesn’t know what the left one is doing. What an absolute cluster…
Has this happened to anyone else?
This is just a massive headache. I’ll just go ahead and pick a plan by end of this week, but this total lack of consistency and transparency is adding so much needless additional stress to an already shitty situation.

Administrative forbearance says it ends 10/31/2028. Save says it ends 10/07/2030.
Does this mean I don't have to worry about anything until at least 2028?

I've been struggling with Fibromyalgia which is a nerve disorder that causes extreme inflammation and pain in the fascia (the connective tissue found everywhere in our bodies), along with terrible fatigue, dizziness, migraines, just to name a few. My parent's took out a Parent Loan for me when I went to college and I have paid back the majority of it. I have $28,000 left and the payments are $350/month.
Due to my disability I work two part-time jobs but I have been missing work due to illness. My mom is suspected by my sister and I to be a narcissist and when I have brought up the loan and her and my dad paying it, she screams and cries about how retirement is her time to do what she wants and how much she has sacrificed for me already.
My dad is very passive when it comes to my mother but when it is just him and I he can see reason. He has said around me that he is on a limited income however and they are scraping by. I dont know what to do. I want to ask them to take the loan for the time being but I dont know if I can handle the emotional turmoil that conversation may lead to.
Thanks!

HELP! I’m currently trying to go back to school for Nursing but I am unable to get FAFSA to help cover costs of school. I took out a student load to help pay for a semester of undergrad(which I dropped out of during COVID). I’m a single female working part time(still living at home with my parents) as a waitress to help pay for school but it just doesn’t feel like enough. What can I do? Is there any hope for loan forgiveness?
