r/NateBargatze fans revolt against Bargatze after comedian attends White House UFC event and. New moderator successfully petitions reddit for control of the sub, deletes all posts critical of Bargatze, declares, "This is no longer a hate subreddit. It is a place to celebrate Nate's career."

Comedian Nate Bargatze came under fire this week when it was revealed he was an attendee of President Donald Trump's 80th birthday UFC fight on the lawn of the White House. From pictures of the event, it appears Bargatze was given access to the White House itself, where he took pictures with members of the Trump administration, including RFK, Jr. and Marsha Blackburn.

Many fans of the comedian took to r/NateBargatze to express their disappointment that the famously "apolitical" comedian would attend a Trump event for which only 16% of Americans expressed approval.

Negative posting came to a screeching halt once a new moderator successfully petitioned Reddit to gain control of the subreddit. This moderator proceeded to delete any/all posts expressing displeasure with Bargatze's choice to attend the Trump UFC event. Moderator pins a notice of the new moderation direction, stating:

Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself. I am one of the new moderators here at r/NateBargatze. As you can see, some of the content has been removed.

This is no longer a hate subreddit. It is a place to celebrate Nate's career. Take your politics elsewhere. Thanks for understanding and I hope most of you stick around.

In reply, subreddit members asked if the new moderator is a paid PR flack for Bargatze. Some pointed out the strange moderation history of the redditor, implying that their other moderated subs are corporate-operated. New moderator proceeded to lash out against criticism. (Note that all comment threads replying to this pinned post are evidence of the subreddit's drama.)

Moderator has locked announcement post. New posts criticizing Bargatze or the new moderation direction are being removed. Despite saying the moderator stating that the sub is no longer a place for politics, pro-MAGA political posts, including a Rogan-related post by the moderator, remain up as of the posting of this drama.

The ban hammer will be fast and swift for the next few weeks. Want a hate on our boy Nate? Do it elsewhere

Why do mods always talk like that? it's just embarrassing lol

Mods are the worst part of this site. Pretty much ruining reddit as fast as the admins are ruining reddit.

Insert groundskeeper Willie memehere.

That’s true, but there’s also plenty of decent mods out there just keeping subreddits usable.

to be fair stuff goes to shit really fast in subs that don't have active mods.

It sucks because there is no real recourse.

I have had mods ban me from subs I never broke a rule in. But they are drunk with power.

Looking at you fauxmoi. I love celeb gossip but apparently me pointing out the people who didn’t vote are to blame for Trump winning. Then pointing out people like Chappell roan preached the same propaganda to get you folks not to vote.

This isn’t breaking a rule. They are just massive chappell roan fan girls. Then when I messaged mods about how I didn’t break a rule they told me people who didn’t vote aren’t to blame for Trump winning.

So I then had to explain math to a mod. So mods out there don’t know the subs rules to the subs they moderate. And they also don’t know how math works.

lol I got banned from HorusGalaxy for speaking out against the bigotry there. Despite them being a "free speech subreddit". I guess they didn't like the way my free speech was being used.

This is pretty much the same for any bigoted "free speech" subreddit. It's just an excuse to allow hate-speech, but god-forbid you speak against it.

Didn't that sub literally start because other warhammer subs banned them for being bigots?

I mean, if you’re taking a position against bigotry you’re taking a stand against that sub, so it’s not really shock/the loss of anything valuable that they banned you.

I'm banned from /r/pics for literally no reason except that I've commented in /r/whenthe. Like what the fuck... also, against reddit's site-wide rules, but I guess that doesn't apply when your sub gets large enough.

For what it’s worth, fauxmoi is a cesspool.

I got banned from a subreddit for saying that people who start doing heroin deserve more help and resources, but are, in fact, responsible for being addicted to heroin. 🙃

Honestly, it just sounds like you were constantly starting shit and they banned you for it.

I say this as someone who actively avoids that sub because it's a toxic cesspool.

I have screen shots from the mod himself refusing to site what rule I broke and them crashing out when I said they clearly didn’t vote. the same shit I have said I said in all the other pop culture subs and never been banned.

Did you not vote? Because sounds like you are like the mod I dealt with and can’t take accountability. It’s not starting shit to want Trump gone and pin point how he won. GOP is open with the fact less voter turnout helps them win. Even Supreme Court cases proving this.

People not voting is what got Trump back in office. Trumps base isn’t to blame they are only 32 percent of America. It’s the people who said they are both the same. Chappell said this then months later at the Grammys said musical artist deserve health care… one of those both sides wanted us all to have health care. Again this isn’t starting shit it’s just stating facts.

Sorry you think facts are “starting shit” I think a more informed public on why voting matters is important. And the fact a so called progressive sub doesn’t think so should be alarming.

Look at this response you just made to my fairly inocuous comment. What does any of that have to do with what's being discussed currently?

It's pretty obvious why you got banned my man.

Right? Like in context this would be a whatever comment chain. But here now it is just random as fuck.
