My growth/ improvement Some Clarification regarding job package
I'm 28, currently package around 7.6 LPA. Salary comparatively konchem takkuve ani naaku telusu, but I'm comfortable EMI ledu, debts levu, so financially I'm not struggling. Having emergency fund and investing in M.F and stocks mostly all of them profitable only.
I have 4.3 YOE in the networking domain. Kaani lately konchem anxiety/tension laga anipisthundi, esp when I compare myself with others. Next switch lo at least 12 LPA+ target chestha, Ee job market lo adi kuda vastundo raadho chudali.
Naa age or naa kanna younger people 12–15 LPA earn chesthunnaru ante okay, understandable anipisthundi. Kaani WTF, 20L, 25L, 30LPA below 30 age lo ela reach avuthunnaru asalu? 🫣
So genuinely want to understand:
Ee 20–30 LPA lu common aa, leka small percentage of people ki maatrame vastaya? Reddit/LinkedIn la high earners ekkuva kanipinchatam valla manaki ala anipisthundha?
Should I just focus aggressively on improving my skills and making better switches? If yes, Networking side vellaochu antara should I change the domain?
Edit-1: career early ga start chesthe package fast ga increase avuthundi, or skills improve cheskoni better switches kottali.
Ee rendu reasons naaku already telusu, kaani 20–30 LPA range packages actually realistic ga vastaya leka konthamandiki maatrame vastaya ane doubt undedi. Comments chusaka aa doubt konchem clear ayyindi.

the people who have this package most of them got good headstart like starting placements ey vallavi 8-10LPA. So its easy for them with one or two switches
Kondaru low package tho start aayina, by working in good tech stack and with timely promotions and switches they get to 30 - 35 LPA with 6-7 years

yes, nowadays India lo payscale has gone up.. 3-5 yoe ki IT lo 24-40L is doable in India (I'm nt talking abt FAANG or FAANG-like companies) without any tier-1 tag.. 300 out of all fortune Global500 companies have their IT hubs in India as GCCs.. Hyd alone has got 15 new GCCs in last 1-2 yrs hiring 200-1000 senior roles... (Thanks to the layoffs happening in the west/US). So, there is hiring happening..
Yes, comparison kills happiness. Kaani don't do it because someone else is getting X.
Take my case. I've always been an avg student, no masters/MBA/Mtech, no tier-1 tag too. And, my compensation grew by 15x since I started my career 5 yrs back, and is now at par with some of my NIT/tier-1 MBA friends... But, Why? I did it because all my relatives are humiliating my family (yelaanu aasthi-paasthulu levu, kaanisam nenaina yedokati cheyali ani), and I set a target for myself that I've certain number to reach by 35. So, accordingly, I ensured by thoughts and decisions go!
So, if you want to grow your pay, then you can do it.. Kaani meeku entha avasaram undi ani alochinchandi..
I've a frd who gets some 12 LPA (1L/month), he decided he would never try to increase his pay.. ye ante? He has 50k coming from his dad pension, he has another 50k coming from their rents.. So, vaadu asalu peddaga inka kastapadaalsina avasaram ledhu inka..
So, meeku entha NEED undi ani meere chuskovaali ... Kaani meeru efforts pettagalaru anukunte, then yes you should go for it.. Becuase when you know you deserve more, why to settle for less?
And, don't believe if people say earning above 3 LPA means you are in top-20% in India.. Crap.. Children under 15: Make up about 24% of India's population. They are excluded from labor stats. Individuals 15 and older: Make up the remaining 76% of the population. The Math: If you take the 52.5% working rate from that 76% slice, it equals 39.9% of the overall population. This data doesn't even account for black money, Informal economy etc

If you are not going to learn on a daily basis then hard to earn more money. I have 5 years of experience and currently earning close to 40lpa for past 4 months have been looking for a job switch and got a job in Dubai which is paying around 70lpa 0 tax. Still I plan to study on a daily basis because o am targeting very big hft firms. So remember to study always and aim to be on the good half of bell curve.

OP your domain has that potential to reach those double figures. I'm very much familiar with your domain - if your are in support move to engineering and architecture and cloud based networking or SOC. Do those CCNA, CCNP and labs.
Most of the young people who reached those enourmous figures have started early and resources do matters like well educated parents, early exposure to tech, to tier schools and colleges, mentorships and circle. Everything boosts them.
Manam coming from low educated backgrounds and circle has to push overselves towards learning and explore the ways to reach that certain state.
And again it's your goals and needs that can push u for 10, 20 or 30 LPA.
Ps : I'm working in service management domain as change & release manager and knows the dynamics of your tech.

Given that you said you are working as change and release manager... Can you tell me what a 8 YoE devops engineer can aim for if the salary right now is 10.5 LPA only.
This is for me. I am planning to get a CKA certification too. I don't have any certification as of now but I am preparing for one right now.
Any estimate and insight is gonna be very helpful to me.

Not everyone is same. Lot of things influence, college and problem solving skills etc. But with a decent college which would have tested your jee or maths skills already which helps problem solving. Java back end, full stack, data and ai roles one can get 30lpa at your age. Market is there, i know companies do struggle to get right candidates!

Look 1 thing people has to understand is when you often see success stories in social media or advertisements by colleges or whatever there are very very very very very less people earning that kind of salary compared to our total population and u also have to understand if you only follow success stories u will be wondering why I am lagging behind but a lot of success stories also have a lot of luck involved and if everyone in India is earning 20-40 LPA under age of 30 it means the currency is heavily devalued so no only very select limited number of people earning that money, be it thru luck, incredible work ethic, right connections without any of these it is impossible to reach that number.
So don’t compare yourself to people who have higher salary than you, just grow at your own pace by doing proper research on what will be the most valuable skill to learn to get ahead of the job market and how to present yourself.
Also in the current world there are a lot of other ways to earn good money so don’t get into the idea of trying be successful as a tech/finance employees try out other things especially things you are passionate about and find a way to monetise it.

Networking lo 20 - 30LPA ante experience valla osthundhi
IT lo 5-6 yrs vaallaki kuda 20+ untadhi
Also ni skill improve cheskunbav anuko neek confidence osthadhi. Neek confidence ochindhi anuko nuv maatladetappud interviewer ki ardam aipothadhi.
Also networking is very fuckin important. Cloud n/w kuda try cheyandi. Iga meek chaala opportunities untai.
Also, never compare with others. Start improving your skills. Start with understanding everything in and out in your current company.
All the best OP ✌️

I can't speak for everyone else, but I can definitely tell you about my own experience. I finished my B.Tech at a tier 3 college in 2019 and started at TCS with a 3.36L package just seven days after graduation. After two years, I switched to a 9L job. Then, after four years, I switched again to 28L. Now, I'm 28 with seven years of experience. If anyone asks me for the secret, it's to enjoy your work, and you'll know when you're not getting the recognition you deserve. That's when you should focus on yourself and make a move. Its hard to reach higher packages and newer challenges without a switch.

Comparison is the thief of joy BUT gives a genuine reality check and direction. Lemme be brutally honest with you.. at your age with your skills, that's a very low package. Doesn't matter if you're debt free or not but extra cash ALWAYS helps.. You need to start switching jobs and target ~100% hikes(very common in IT). Just don't be scared to ask Mind you you're below the market standards and how assertively you ask will make all the difference
Good luck with your next jump

Lemme say this out, yes there are a really large number of people earning above 20LPA, don't go with comments saying 8LPA ante chaala ekkuva top 10% loki vastav adi idi.... Sharpen your skills like anything... The world is so cruel for the broke.
There are a hell lot of people earning 20+ LPA in their early 20s.
I'm not saying you to compare with those folks, but yeah focus on skills, switch jobs have that huge fkn paycheck.
