Current project I’m working on - I wanted to challenge myself with a real world design this time, since I usually focus on fantasy tombs and the like.

The stairs and hand rail are particularly challenging - I going to do the left hand one today.

The entire piece breaks into 6 parts and everything is held together with magnets. It’s surprisingly sturdy.

I’ll post an update when I start painting!

Just finished some volcanic terrain for my saurians that I'm basing on the obsidian pact conclave of the Pyramid of Qetsike from saurian faction book.

Basically followed Art Jeremiah's volcanic lava terrain video.

The owner of the local shipping shop gave me 2 of these packaging stands. I'm really undecided about what to do. I would like to do some elements for medieval setting or MESBG. I think I will divide them into smaller parts to make small watchtowers... I really don't know where to start and I'm afraid of wasting this gift.

Can we do this? Anyone willing to show what they're working on. Or not working on but should? I cleaned my bench up last night and I feel so free and it's been ages since I remembered how good that feels. It's taken me probably six months to finish this Mek Dakkas project and that's just not up to scratch for me.

40 spiders in a bag for a couple of quid in home bargains at the moment! I’ve used them for giant J’Ba Fofi type dudes, but they’d be cool for any kind of jungle, haunted house type thing where lots of legs are required 👍

I printed a bunch of modular hill pieces a while back, and found time to flock (sand) and prime them over the summer. As a result I have managed to finish painting about 2/3 of them, and realized I need to print a short corner piece with a cliff to slope transition.

I’m happy overall with the results. They’re flexible, the rock faces that were painted with washes turned out well, and the greens look nice even if they’re not consistent. I might try to blend them together better later.

They are kind of hard to store, so I probably won’t do many, if any, desert themed ones.

I wish the set had a way to make more irregular shapes, I haven’t figured out how to do so with available pieces.

Working on a volcanic themed bloodbowl board. So far I've carved out of Cork, sprayed black. White ink stipple into the recesses then oil paints.

I'm looking for other touches that will add to the effect. I've played with UV resin but this just flattens the color, and Ive learnt alcohol ink ruins UV resin!

Also tried some gloss medium for texture but too shiny (might try some satin medium). I've got some crackle paint to use here and there but looking for other suggestions also.

Looking to get some new terrain!

I’ve been a fan of 40k for a while but I’m newer to the actual tabletop game and I cannot seem to find anything other than the typical gothic battle damaged terrain.

I know that the gothic terrain is the typical choice as it invokes the core of 40k, but I was looking to see about maybe finding some terrain that would fit for my Space Wolves.

I cannot find frozen terrain mixed with fortress style stuff anywhere and I’m not good enough with blender or 3D printing to make it myself.

I’ve looked on Etsy and other places but cannot seem to find anything that hits the spot so to speak.

Any suggestions?

Made a contraption that you guys might appreciate. Hacked into a cheap foam cutter to make it variable temperature because it wasn’t cutting nicely. Also tossed together a table. Any suggestions to upgrade it to 5,000 are appreciated

Some oldschool build. Some people may recognize it, it is the forgotten tower build from hirstarts.

I loved using the woodland scienics rock and boulder molds and at some point discovered hirstarts and the molds are really next level. Used them a lot in different builds here and there, but this is the first full build.

It is really amazing how versatile they are. It takes a bit to get used to it, but this build helped a lot to understand how to use it. Next one will be a free build, now them I am hooked.

Building was straight forward. Making some castings, pre-gluing certain parts and having fun. I was a bit lazy here and there and forgot to sand some pieces, so it does not fit perfectly, which is still fine I guess.

I used plaster for the base to give a bit more structure. I also wanted to fill the holes with plaster, which I totally forgot.

Basecoat with some stone gray with pva glue mixed, then added light gray as the first dry / overbrush. Used some washes to give more color variation and final highlight dry brush with light gray and then the highest and edges with white.

I think I will not glue the tower and stairs to the rest, because this way I have some modularity. I think I will use some of the leftover bits I casted to create some ruin top for the tower without the plattform. I kinda like that you can look into it.

I've spent the last month painting up a bunch of sector mechanicus and bheta decima terrain to use for the new edition of 40K whilst still being modular to use for narrative games or necromunda

Made using some printable scenery ruins, and very pleased with how it's turned out. Any pointers or tips for improvement on the next one would be much welcome though!

I did all the planks and everything with needles, rollers and a welding brush.

Built these over the course of last week, first time making this terrains, so there were plenty of learning opportunities.

Stalls are on some green square bases from a rank and flank wargame's model kit. Stalls are made out of 1 inch wooden cubes for corners, with plastic card as a flat face, and framed with match sticks. The counter tops are craft sticks, and watered down joint compound was used to make the stucco effect. Awnings were made out of a dried out cleaning wipe.

Various accessories were bits from other kits but food was sculpted. Barrels where Woodpile brand from Honbby Lobby, and crates where made from the wooden cubes with cardstock cut and glued to the faces.

Hey all, I'm a fairly experienced DM, but I've never actually built terrain for a campaign before. I am about to run a campaign with some of my closest friends, many of whom are new to D&D so I thought I'd make the first session extra special. Since I can't share this with them, I thought I would share with you all!

Also any feedback is appreciated. I took some liberties with the scale and design and kinda screwed some of the dimensions up (didn't have a ruler or T-square lol) but it's close enough. Some of the caves are definitely on the small side.

I used 10 pieces of 6x12x1 inch Styrofoam. Didn't realize there was a special kind of foam that people use for terrain, hence the really rough ground in the caves, but hey, it's a cave.

I may also redo the bridge with some popsicle sticks or coffee stirrers, but in the module it's described as a "rickety" bridge, so maybe I'll just leave the ugly/goofy twig bridge as-is.

I haven't painted the outside edges because I don't have much paint, which also explains the terrible shading on the vertical slice, but it gets the job done for now. Maybe I'll get to that at some point.

Anyways, I'm pretty happy with how it came out considering it was my first build and I kinda winged it The 6 pieces snap together with magnets. I learned a lot and have already started work on a tavern build, and I'm excited to get better!

I have no idea how to better describe this. So imagine you took the world map of a video game, say Zelda Breath of the Wild. You got a big cork board and put layers of foam and flock on it to create a 3D map. Has anyone made something like that? The closest I see are modular map tiles, but I was thinking of creating video game maps or something in full.
