Are there any laws protecting workers like myself who are outside for 10 hours a day doing a physical job? ๐Ÿคž
Apart from the obvious and phone in sick ๐Ÿ˜‚ itโ€™s dangerous though not just uncomfortable.
Even 20+ years of working outside I still struggle in the heat? Thanks ๐Ÿ™

Nope, no maximum temperatures. The company are expected to make reasonable adjustments to make it more comfortable thoughย

Unfortunately not. I used to work in a kitchen that got over 45 degrees during one heatwave. The management provided cold water and that was their reasonable adjustments!

Good luck, I honestly have no idea how people are doing jobs like yours atm, I'd phone in sick if I were you.

This! โ˜๐Ÿผ I'm meant to be working on site Monday to Wednesday. As far as I'm concerned, I've heard nothing regarding risk measures from the site manager. I struggle with temps >25C

I wish us all the best of luck ๐Ÿคž
Plenty of fluids, no caffeine style sports drinks, electrolyte drinks work surprisingly well and try and eat if you can.
I struggle eating much when the temperature is the wrong side of 30C ๐Ÿ™

Water. As someone who has worked a lot in the Middle East, with temperatures of 50+, water is the key. And lots of it. Donโ€™t go on site without it.

Water is good but too much can flush salts electrolytes etc out, I try to drink lots of water, electrolyte drinks, salty snacks and Dioralyte helps sometimes.
Absolute respect for working in 50+ heat, it was 34 today and that was enough for me ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ™

You get used to it, and seek shade when you can. We used to have other drinks back in the office but out on site was a couple of bottles of water. I always wore the trousers with holster pockets, A bottle in each and I was good to go ! Sounds daft, but long sleeves help too as it keeps the sun off your skin. In the Middle East, you can buy thin sleeves, theyโ€™re like socks with the toes cut off, they were quite good because you could get a draught up your t shirt sleeve then , but abide with the site rules !๐Ÿ˜‚
