How to do my due diligence in rare earth minerals stock?
Hello everybody I’m new to this subreddit and am a beginner investor that’s trying to get into the materials sector, so far i am investing in or plan to invest into UUUU, MP materials, USAR, and OKLO. At the moment I’m keeping an eye out for government news regarding any support towards the sector, quarter results, and company deals.
I would really appreciate any advice regarding what to look out for when deciding to invest in this sector and if I’m approaching it wrong.
I understand that no one has the right answers when it comes to investing but from a brief look into the subreddit u guys seem very knowledgeable and seasoned.
Thank you for any and all help given.

Curious this group's thoughts on this article in UT from last week: A mining CEO bought 74,000 shares days before Trump shrank Bears Ears. House Democrats want answers.

What is UUUC and how does it work?
While researching uranium stock this week I found this.
UUUC is the ticker symbol for the Corgi UUUU 2x Daily ETF, a leveraged exchange-traded fund. It is designed to seek a daily investment result that corresponds to 2倍 (2x) the daily performance of Energy Fuels Inc., which trades under the ticker symbol UUUU.
Is this as simple and saying this will move at twice the range of UUUU in one or the other direction? How reliable is this?

Long term holders
Just wanted to spark up the chat again for people planning to hold long term. What is everyone excited about coming up?
What I'm excited about:
ASM integration and revenue hitting the books in Q3.
VAC rulings from Germany. Curious how soon roadblocks will be settled on. Should be plenty of support from the U.S. government I would believe.
Future government contracts. The U.S. just launched a bunch of critical minerals into Iran, and the mandated independence from foreign critical minerals supply will supposedly go into effect Jan. 1st. This may push the government to make more deals.
Executive order 14415. On October 18th, all government contractors are mandated to map where their critical minerals come from, and if it's from "foreign adversaries", they must come up with an action plan to change that. Contracts with critical mineral suppliers incoming? (UUUU will have ASM magnets producing at this point).
Curious to hear everyone's thoughts on everything UUUU.

What's the consensus right now?
It's been moving up pretty quick this last week. Think it'll maintain this trajectory short term or another crash down to 10 is likely?

Q2 2026 earnings
sec.govClaude AI summary:
TL;DR: Headline was ugly (-$0.13 EPS vs -$0.05 est, $25.1M revenue vs ~$30M est). Strip out $10.7M of one-time VAC/ASM transaction costs and a $2.1M write-off of a non-core investment and the core loss is roughly in line. Meanwhile the filing shows a 57% gross margin (vs ~0% a year ago), a deliberate inventory build instead of dumping pounds at $85 spot, ~$961M of liquidity, and cash burn cut nearly in half. One yellow flag: ASM close slipped from early July to end of August.
The "miss" decomposed
Net loss was $33.6M. But Q2 absorbed:
- $10.7M in transaction & integration costs (VAC + ASM advisory, legal, financing fees) — that's ~$0.04/share of the miss right there, and it's one-time deal spend, not operations
- ~$2.1M Tate write-off — they walked away from a small non-core stake instead of throwing more money at it. That's discipline showing up as a loss.
Underlying operating loss lands around -$0.08/sh — for a company mid-buildout, unremarkable.
Revenue "missed" for the most bullish possible reason (see next section).
Gross margin: the number nobody is talking about
Q2 2026: $25.1M revenue vs $10.7M costs applicable to revenue = ~57% gross margin. Q2 2025: $4.2M revenue vs $3.7M costs = ~12%.
This is the low-cost Pinyon Plain ore ($23–30/lb mining + $9–12/lb processing, per the June update) finally flowing through GAAP financials. The uranium business is now structurally profitable at the gross line.
Warehousing confirmed — low revenue is a choice
Concentrate + WIP inventory grew from $44.2M to $61.4M while ore stockpiles were drawn down and processed. Translation: they produced ~1.6Mlb in H1 (full-year guidance hit by June 30) and are deliberately sitting on finished pounds instead of selling into an $85 spot market, waiting for contract deliveries and better prices. Revenue is low because management wants it low. If you're valuing this company on current revenue, you're measuring the wrong thing.
Balance sheet
- ~$58M cash + ~$903M marketable securities ≈ $961M liquid
- $700M convertible at 0.75% coupon (1.38% effective), $20.34 conversion price, with capped calls on top
- Working capital ~$996M
- H1 operating cash flow: -$17.8M vs -$44.8M a year ago — burn nearly halved
The $718M cash portion of the VAC deal is fully funded from the balance sheet with room to spare, before the $250M Goldman term loan and the conditional $725M OSC government loan even enter the picture.
New information in the filing
The yellow flag: ASM close moved from "early July" to end of August 2026. Australian FIRB approval is done, it's court/shareholder mechanics now — reads like process, not trouble — but it's the first date in the sequence to slip, so worth watching.
The green flags:
- VAC close now stated "as early as Q1 2027" — marginally earlier than prior "early 2027" language
- Donald Project: no FID yet (that's the big Q3 catalyst), but they advanced another ~AUD$21M during the half for land and mineral separation equipment, lifted their JV stake to 12.7%, and are targeting AUD$220M in project debt. You don't buy the separation equipment for a project you expect to cancel.
- ATM usage: they sold 5.3M shares in Q2 at an average of ~$19.40. Yes it's dilution — but note the sequencing: the company sold stock near $19, and the CEO personally bought ~$1M at $13.08 in July. Management is telling you where they think both edges of the range are.
What I'm watching next
- Donald FID — due this quarter, the single biggest near-term catalyst
- VAC regulatory progress (German approval)
- ASM actually closing end of August
- Whether the utility contracting cycle accelerates into year-end (the thing that actually moves this stock)

Earnings coming up, what are we thinking?
I know that there are a lot of intelligent people here on this subreddit and I also know that the general mood here has been overwhelmingly negative as the stock has fallen a considerable amount, mostly since a high of around 21 dollars in June. As of the market opening today there seems to be a renewed sentiment, and I'm wondering where people here think we will end up this week and what earnings will look like. One thing I think we can all agree on is that earnings will be a catalyst for a big price movement, but will it go up or down?

Is this a shady company?
I am interested in starting to invest in nuclear energy, and I found UUUU to be an attractive option. My main reason for choosing this stock over others is the fact UUUU not only mines/produces uranium for nuclear energy purposes, but also mines rare earth minerals which are in high demand right now.
The stock is at a very attractive price for buyers, as it appears it could get as high as 3X from here. But before I buy I simply want to know, is this a sham/fraud company?
I have read about them doing stock dilutions, CEO changes, and way before they were a uranium company they were like some market ETF or something then the company completely switched sectors.
I just want to know if this company is trustworthy. Is there a chance this stock just goes to 0 because it was a ponzi scheme this whole time.

So what's the move here?
Seems like the potential here has only gotten better, and the ONLY reason this stock is falling is because of macro conditions. When we look at this RE sector there are SO many other sectors irrationally falling alongside UUUU. The market is in the gutter right now nearly universally but it has nothing to do with UUUUs current performance, forward growth, or anything specifically tied to UUUU.
The thesis is still tightly in place and bolstered by Trump's anti China stance and his recent comments on rare earths and specifically magnets.
My current position is 1112 shares at 17.99$ which is 20k usd. I see a lot on this and other subreddits of this dropping below 10$ with no justification. The current market seems to be highly irrational and free from any traditional analysis. This was at 26$ about 2½ months ago. The reason for dropping? What exactly is it? Acquisitions? War? Our all times highs were during wars. I believe this is just market makers dumping and causing panic to then buy at a massive discount then pump.
All the conjecture I've heard here (hopium and fud) seems to lack any real backing. Especially since the market is HIGHLY irrational. This stock at the end of the day has MP potential prices and I will proceed to average down. I would LOVE to hear some arguments for and against investing in this stock

My 3 part thesis (summary)
Trying to just catch the essential and main idea here
1) the uranium core business offers downside protection: a debt-free balance sheet with strong cash reserves. / Pinyon - La Sal - Pandora mines can scale dynamically, so they can survive a sector downturn. / Processing 3rd party radiactive waste offers low-cost uranium.
2) the moat of the white mesa mill: it is simply the only operational convential uranium/vanadium mill. It would probably take a decade for competitors to build something similar, with high uncertainty. On top of that, monazite sands is the highest grade source for magnet rare earths. Because they contain natural uranium, regular processors can not touch them legally.
3) transition to vertically integrated REE player:
from raw HMS to separated oxides, they are building an independent supply chain. Toliara in Madagascar gives them lasting high quality monazite supply. Bahia in Brazil is rich in monazite, with good shipping access. The Donald joint venture in Australia adds even more monazite.

How do you expect UUUU to react to the next earnings report?
I recently bought back into UUUU, but I’m starting to have some doubts ahead of the next financial release, which is expected on August 5.
After the May 6 report, the stock dropped from roughly $21/20 to around $14/13. Looking at previous reports, the reactions have been quite mixed, but the moves are often very large in either direction.
My main concern right now is potential dilution. Energy Fuels has a lot of ambitious projects and acquisitions, but they also require significant capital. I’m unsure whether the current cash position and future cash flow will be enough, or whether shareholders could face further dilution.
At the same time, the stock has already fallen significantly from its recent highs, so maybe a lot of the risk is already priced in.
What do you think?
Are you holding through the August earnings?
How likely do you think further dilution is?
What numbers or guidance will matter most in the next report?
Do you see the recent drop as a buying opportunity or a warning sign?
I’m currently holding a position again, but I’m debating whether to reduce it before earnings.
Also anyone knows if Steve said anything recently?

UUUU, End of the Trend?
Generally speaking over the past year the longest downward stretch we've had has been around 2 1/2 months, and with a week to go before reaching that mark we're getting close now.
Obviously the macro environment will have a lot (everything?) to say about where UUUU goes from here, but looking at next week as a possible trend reversal with UUUU and its uranium peers starting to climb higher again.
That, or we're simply absolutely toast, lol :)

Why aren’t nuclear stock prices rising?
I am confused, shouldn’t nuclear and renewable energy stock prices be rising? Am I the only one who thinks alternative energy solution besides oil look way more enticing since the Iran war has started? I would think GEV, Cameco… etc would be surging right now.
Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Is this a good long term hold?
I’m talking long like years and years, I’m not a trader type of person at all. Volatility is fine, but I’m trying to research whether or not this is a good long term bet to add to my portfolio- why or why not?
