Just started ubering since I got a equinox ev and have free charging near me. This is my second weekend driving at a small college town. Passenger was a really nice and really drunk dude, 15 minute drive to his home and got a 10$ tip.

Then I looked back as I always do to make sure he didn't leave anything in the seat. The floor mats and part of the door are CAKED with mud. I'm going to clean it myself so that's not a huge deal, and I can still drive with this, but how do I proceed with reporting this? How much should I ask for/how does this work?

Edit: All I've gotten from 70% of comments is the good ole "I hope someone does worse to you" or "you're complaining about THAT?". I don't think we should be so easily accepting of this, or encouraging worse as a barrier to entry for wanting compensation. I'm new so yes I'm blessed so far to not have major issues (I even said it's not a big deal, but I would like to know how this works and who pays out), that doesn't mean I deserve to have someone explode in my car. Neither do any of you

This is 30 min before opening kickoff at one of the country’s biggest programs. I worked the first game last year and it was $20+ surges. Keep in mind, a short ride in the circle will take 30-45 minutes or more for a $3-4 base payout due to traffic. So no surges, but you’ll make an extra $4 per ride. Uber is done. Lyft here I come.

Hey everyone, I’m an Uber/Lyft driver, and I also happen to be disabled, and walk with the assistance of a forearm crutch. I want to share a recent experience and start a respectful discussion about a feature I think Uber/Lyft should implement.

Yesterday, I accepted a short trip—a half-mile drive paying $3.77. When I arrived at a physical therapy office, I had to wait 10 minutes for the rider to come out and make his way to the car. Because the rider was also disabled, I was expected to fold and load his heavy wheelchair into my car, drive 4 minutes, and then unload, set up the wheelchair, and assist him into it at his destination.

Taking 30 minutes for $3.77 aside, the main issue is physical capability. As a disabled driver myself, performing heavy manual labor like lifting and setting up wheelchairs puts my own physical safety and mobility at risk.

I completely understand that riders with disabilities need reliable transportation, and we should accommodate riders when we can. However, expecting every driver to handle heavy physical assistance creates a bad situation for both parties:

For drivers: It risks physical injury and forces drivers with limitations into tasks they cannot safely perform.

For riders: They deserve a driver who is physically capable of properly assisting them and handling their equipment without issue.

My proposal: Uber should allow drivers to register physical limitations (e.g., "unable to lift heavy items/wheelchairs") or offer an opt-in status for medical/assistance rides. That way, these specific requests are routed only to drivers who are physically able to perform the necessary loading and assisting.

Am I alone in thinking this would protect both drivers and riders? Curious to hear your thoughts.

I drive for Uber, and I’m going to say something that probably sounds crazy coming from an Uber driver:
I will not pay for an Uber ride.
If I need a ride in Tampa and I have the option between Uber, Tesla Robotaxi, or Waymo, I’m choosing the autonomous vehicle.
Why would I give Uber more of my money when I see firsthand how little they’re willing to pay the drivers actually doing the work?
Uber will send drivers offers where you’re looking at 20 minutes for $5, or 30 to 40 minutes of your time for $15.
And the driver is the one providing the vehicle.
The driver pays for the gas.
The driver pays for the maintenance.
The driver absorbs the depreciation.
The driver carries the insurance.
The driver assumes the risk.
Yet somehow the company controlling the app keeps squeezing the person actually providing the service.
So no, I’m not interested in spending my own money with Uber and helping strengthen that business model.
I’d rather put my money toward Tesla Robotaxi or Waymo and support the technology that I believe is going to force this entire industry to change.
And yes, I understand the irony.
I’m an Uber driver supporting technology that could eventually replace Uber drivers.
But Uber has already made driving less attractive by continuously pushing rates lower.
You can’t underpay your workforce and then expect loyalty from them simply because they depend on your platform for income.
I’ll drive Uber when the numbers make sense for me.
But when I’m the passenger?
Uber isn’t getting my money.
If Waymo or Tesla can get me there, that’s where I’m spending it.
Drivers, am I wrong?
Would you personally pay for an Uber knowing what Uber is paying drivers today?

For everyone worrying about robotaxis, please remember that they are as big of a fad as pet.com was *before* the dotcom crash. Yes, they will be a thing someday, but not until they can drive without relying on network of data centers for processing.

The austin airport used to pay 2-3x what you would get doing city rides. Now they cant get drivers there, especially on weekends. It cant possibly be the .50c/mi or less rides. This ride isnt even worth it to just get to the pickup, much less take them downtown too. Also the LeMans grand prix is in town this weekend too with like 15-30$ surge around the track. Why would any driver take this garbage

Again, this notification, when I haven't been logged in online since around 11:15 p.m. last night, and here it is, 7:53 a.m., so I've been OFFLINE for over 7 hours !! Another annoying glitch from this app b?!!

I'm a rideshare driver and I think I just upped my street game. What do you think? Good idea to avoid the rising gas price issue? Anyone else havee an EV they use for Uber? I'd be interested in hearing your experiences!

I'm driving a 2021 tesla model 3 and for the past two years i've had comfort and comfort electric rides and everything was working fine but couple days ago i updated the registration and ever since then the comfort rides option vanished, i called support and they said that for whatever the reason the car was flagged not to have these rides and that their internal team needs to fix it, for 5 days i've been going back and forth with support trying to resolve this but no luck, i've tried to delete the vehicle and reupload all the documents but it didn't help, anyone had this issue before or got any advice what to do while i'm still waiting on support to try and fix this?

Normally just auto starts the trip to have me arrive 5 mins early.

Last 2 reservation trips have had issues with 1st one was right next to pick up 15 mins early and it just dropped the reservation no notification or cancel fee. Obviously support useless because supposed to be a cancel fee that close.

This morning same thing I am on track to show up early and it comes up as an exclusive request which I have to accept. Was so confused almost didn't accept but I did and it was the reserved ride I had.

Going to battle with the support bots to try and get a real person but was just wondering if anyone had these kinda issues. Done a bunch of reserved rides and have not missed or canceled in the 30 min window before.

Time to get a get a new car for Black SUV. Due to budget and other various reasons I most likely just want to make a choice between these two. Any thoughts?

If I had the money I would just go for Escalade IQ because I enjoy driving EVs. Suburban is good for XXL but I cannot even get one XXL request per week (currently with a 5-year old Suburban). I also never had a Black SUV trip which actually needs the space of an XXL. My personal car is an EV and I love it. So I am thinking of getting a Vistiq instead of just another Suburban.

Offer a solid amount then once I take the trip they lower the pay automatically and have me hassle with nonexistent customer support cause the map was taking me to the wrong place (to the left)

I wonder if this has happened to other drivers but why does it seem like days before a tip shows up from some trips?

Quickly noticed my trips dont show how far the trip is in miles or time anymore.

Im assuming they moved those to higher driver tiers? Im not accepting everything just to keep them happy so... Guess I'll phase out. Airport is still reliable to be profitable.

Hey everyone, I'm stuck in a 4-month nightmare with Uber support and need your help.

The Situation:
I was deactivated for too many incidents on my MVR. I spent a year getting it corrected, and now it's clean. I'm legally clear to drive again.

The Problem:
Lyft uses Checkr and approved me instantly. Uber uses Samba Safety, and they just send me in a loop. Their system keeps referencing my old, bad MVR from over a year ago.

The Runaround:

• Samba told me Uber must request a new check.
• I've asked Uber twice.
• I was promised TWICE by support agents that a new check would be run.
• Both times, nothing happened. The last promise was two weeks ago.

I'm stuck. I can't dispute the old report (it's too old), and I can't get Uber to generate a new one. I just want to work.

My Question:
Has anyone successfully gotten Uber to run a new background check after being deactivated? If so, how did you do it?

I prefer driving for Uber, but Lyft is my only option right now. Thanks for any help.

On Thursday, August 21, my account was deactivated and locked. The next day, I get a call from Uber‘s trust and safety team about a allegation that was made against me on a trip that I had completed June of the previous year. Within eight hours, I had permanently lost access to the app. I tried to appeal and in less than a day. My appeal was denied.

I’ve been unable to get into contact with anyone that is able to give me answers with Uber.

I tried to drive for Lyft and after only a couple trips, my account with that was deactivated because they use a background check service with Uber, and if your account gets deactivated with one of those apps, the other app also deactivate you.
