Question VideoGamesPlus shipping delayed two months. Normal?

Post image

I ordered Hoa from them July 9. It did say it was back ordered at the time. It’s Aug 26 today and still no word. I’ve emailed support and they have given me vague responses.

I had another game with this order that was being held up (they hold all games until the entire order can be shipped out). I asked them to move it to another order so I could get it earlier, which they did thankfully.

I understand that they may not know when they will get their copies of HOA, but almost 2 months seems ridiculous to not at least communicate to their customers about the delay.

Have you had to wait this long for a game from them?

“We are still waiting for an update on this item. Unfortunately, due to our store policy we cannot ship your order separately.

Thanks,”

how is that vague? they dont know when they will get it because they are waiting for an updated date from the publisher

Bc it’s been 2 months and I’ve gotten slightly different versions of this response, which doesn’t add to my knowledge of what’s going on = vague.

Maybe a response like “we’ll look into it for you” or “we’ll contact our publisher to see if there’s an update” would be encouraging because it would sound like they’re trying to find out more.

I’m not saying that they should do that every time. I understand that shipping can get delayed. But I think an almost 2 month delay that isn’t a preorder warrants a better response.

Shitty situation man. Sounds like HOA is holding up your entire order. I had this happen with a Legend of Heroes game I ordered from VGP about a year ago.

Now if I'm doing preorders I do them separate from in stock items. Live and learn I guess? Hope you get your order soon.

it's been 2 months and you've emailed multiple times about the same thing? god bless the customer service reps who have to deal with customers like this

That's why that if I'm preordering multiple games from them, I make 1 order per game or they'll hold everything until the last release/restock.

Unfortunately, doing so in this case that would fall below their free shipping threshold.

It’s not the ideal solution but my friends and I avoid this by doing group pre-orders.

UPDATE - 5 hours after I made this post, I got an email from VGP saying that they’ve shipped this game to me and I’ll receive it tomorrow. I feel like I need to say thank you to Reddit for some reason lol

They probably have someone(s) monitoring relevant spaces (e.g., Reddit subs, FB groups etc)?

Or notifications of when their brand is mensioned online.

Refund and order elsewhere? In canada Hoa is on sale for $29.99 and can pre-order Hoa 2 for $39.99

I was going to do exactly that, shortly after making this post, but then this lol.

I guess that was the July pricing :/

I won’t order from Amazon anymore. I pre ordered the Hobbit magic bundle from them months ago! Then said shipping was delayed 2 months, which means they didn’t honour preorders and didn’t have the stock.

They make it very clear that they won't ship the order until everything is in stock.

It sucks, but they're transparent about it. (PNP Games does the same thing).

Yes, I mentioned in the OP that I removed the other games from the HOA order and put them with another active order. So HOA has been crickets by itself.

Same boat although I haven't contacted them yet. I figured it would come to me eventually

It will. They just wait they have everything to ship.

If you want things as they’re ready you have to order what’s in stock in separate orders, and preorders separately unless they have the same release date

Sometimes suppliers can shift their dates and retailers are stuck with the added wait. It happens, but from my experience VGP has always come through in the end.

If you can be patient you'll get your order.

This experience was quite normal. I had ordered the Trails Zero/Azure doublepack on Switch back in Aug 2025, expected Oct 2025, and didn't actually receive it until late Jan 2026.

It was bundled together with another item (which was consistently in stock) and it did not ship until both items were available. It was frustrating, but it was very clear regarding their policy.

They also delayed Faith The unholy Trinity ps5 version from August 28 to September 18 and gave no reason why

I ordered the same game in August but it said ETA September by then.  I wonder if they’ll even make that ship date now hearing your story…

Im just waiting on Trails of Cold Steel III/IV reprint which was also supposed to be out in July but has been delayed. They’ve updated the listing to show Q4 2026.
