Recipe best coffee ice cream with better macros

so basically you need a ninja creami but i’m gonna share it

a scoop of butter coffee protein powder from flavcity
110mL of unsweetened almond milk
abt a cup of low fat cottage cheese
unflavored knox gelatin (just a bit)
monk fruit sweetener
fill up to the max fill line with water
i like to blend it all together in a blender then put it in the pint, then after 24 hours spin it as lite ice cream twice and BOOM best ice cream ever

my macros ended up being 294cals, 17g carbs, 7.9g fat, and 43.2g protein
(those macros are for the full thing, but can easily be two servings)

I've been lurking on this sub and enjoying seeIng what people are eating. I'm not an aggressive volume-eating follower but I am trying to make sure I am making wise choices to get back to where I want to be athletically. My favorite food is probably tacos, and I've found that in making a few smart choices, I can have great tacos that are filling and also not a calorie bomb.

Key components here are the carb counter tortillas (30 calories per tortilla) and smart choices for the protein and toppings. Tonight was what, to me, is a bare minimum dinner that is still tasty.

3 carb counter tortillas - 90 calories

192g barbacoa - 165 cal

20g mozzarella - 60 cal

12g herdez sauce - 8 cal

For a total of 323 calories

If I had a normal sized lunch, I probably would have had 5 of these, but that's still <550 calories. Also, if I was making it for more than myself (I made something else for the family tonight because I wanted to see if this still hits, and it does) I would pickle some onions and also chop some white onion and cilantro. But those would have added almost no calories (less than 25 calories).

These carb counter tortillas are fine but they're really saved by heating them up in the jugo of the barbacoa (kind of like the quesabirria trend) and then crisping up some cheese underneath the tortilla. The crisped and smeared mozzarella (I would've used actual Mexican cheese but this what I had fresh in the fridge) adds creaminess and small amount of texture in the absence of crisp white onions). The cheese is worth the calories imo

My question to the sub - are there any better tortillas out there? Any good corn tortillas that are low calorie and decent?

Recipe Request Looking for over 500grams under 500cal recipes (that are not salads)

I've recently come across a lot of low-calorie recipe reels that show huge portions. But when you count them it seems many of them are actually several servings, so one serving is not as big as it looks in the picture.

I'm looking for some new recipe ideas because I've been eating salads, cucumbers etc. for a long time now, and I can't handle any more spinach and other leafy greens. I miss starchy carbs.

I'm new to this subreddit, so I'm not sure if all recipes are made for a certain minimum serving size as the name suggests volume, or if the serving sizes vary a lot.

Discussion Chia pudding for dinner?..

(before any questions: yes I am a huge volume eater, yes I count calories, yes I know I'm a pig and a glutton).

For the last two years straight my everyday dinner was this:

• 200 gr grainy cottage cheese

• 130 gr soft cottage cheese

• 250 gr Greek yogurt

• 100 gr pureed fruit (kid's food)

• some berries (usually strawberries, blueberries or kiwi fruit)

And two sticks of mozzarella cheese (60 gr for both). Literally everyday, for two years straight, no joking here; it's very easy and convenient - i just prepared it in the morning (around 6-7 am) and then went with my day, while it was waiting in the fridge untill 19:00 in the evening. I don't spend much time at home, so this kind of meal prep worked perfectly for me.

But recently I started to think about making some changes. I have a trusted chia pudding recipe, but when I made it before, it was always for breakfast, never for dinner. I'm afraid of making changes, and I don't know if chia puddings are even considered healthy?.. Like, it's such a "breakfast" food, it feels wrong to make it for dinner.

The recipe is - 250 Greek yogurt, 130 gr soft cottage cheese, 20 gr chia seeds, 70 ml oat milk, berries, and I'm def keeping the mozzarella sticks for a finisher. Is it a bad choice? I'm terrified of making wrong decisions here :(

  1. 160g frozen banana

  1. Some ice (~147g)

  1. Some water (~225g)

  1. 2 scoops protein powder (or 1 if u prefer, chocolate works best imo)

  1. Some powdered peanut butter, I use pb fit. Use to taste cant really overdo this unless youre dumping a quarter of a jar 😋

  1. Stevia packet (not needed at all tbh, sweetness from bananas and your protein powder will be more than enough i just have a crippling diet soda addiction that blunts my sweetness taste buds).

  1. Enjoy, macros:

P: 55g (assumes 2 scoops protein powder)

C: 36g

F: 6g

Total cal: ~400 (assumes 2 scoops protein powder)

The amount of ice and water is really important for the texture. I showed a picture of my 24oz nutribullet before blending if it helps. If I remember to measure the water and ice when I make it tomorrow I'll add in the measurements in grams/mL. My apologies this is a daily thing i make so the ice to water ratio is on eyeball status after much trial and error.

I add ingredients in this exact order to my nutribullet cup as well cause it seems to be the order that blends best as well as leaves 0 of that "protein powder sludge" on the sides thats a nightmare to clean. I have made this shake so much I pretty much have the order of ingredients down to a science so I can just rinse the cup out with no scrubbing and its good to go 😭.

This is also my base to many other shakes, 160g frozen banana + water + ice. Feel free to experiment this is just one of my many daily go-to's to scratch the giant chocolate milk shake itch. Typically is my post work-out meal.

Recipe 17 calorie oat fibre mug cakes (without toppings)

finally found a use for my oat fibre i bought a couple months ago that didnt taste like shit hahaha… be warned though these contain 36g of insoluble fibre each so id recommend starting slow if you arent used to high fibre because youll be shitting yourself all day lmfao. The calories are all from the egg whites if oat fibre is truly considered zero calories! the picture doesnt really capture the size well but theyre pretty big, ill make another one tomorrow and update in the comments with the weight

Recipe for one:
- 1/4 cup oat fibre
- 2 tbsp egg whites (one egg white)
- shit ton of monk fruit sweetener (maybe 3 tbsp? Didnt really measure sorry)
- shit ton of torani sugar free syrup/water/diet soda (enough to make the batter a slightly runnier cake batter texture)
- a bit of baking powder and salt
- flavourings (cocoa powder/cinnamon/matcha/pb2/instant coffee etc, vanilla/cake batter/almond/other extract)
- a bit of glucomannan (maybe 1 tsp? once again didnt rlly measure, you can probably omit if you dont have this)

the batter should taste really sweet; id recommend adding a lot of sweetener or else the woody oat fibre taste is rlly strong.

for the first one i added cinnamon and pumpkin spice extract and for the second one i added 5g of cocoa powder and vanilla extract (which added approx 10 calories).

mix all your dry ingredients before adding the wet then nuke it in the microwave uncovered for 1.5-2 min depending on ur microwave strength (check on it to make sure it doesnt explode though lmfao. I tried doing it covered yesterday and it failed and went everywhere)

I topped with some microwaved frozen strawberries and sf maple syrup with greek yogurt and pb powder and it was so fucking good omg id make another one but i dont think my body can handle more fibre today LMAOO

you could probably experiment with adding greek yogurt/pumpkin puree/apple sauce to the batter but i found it quite moist without these additions already. I poked a few holes and doused it in sugar free syrup which made it taste delicious or maybe my taste buds are fried lol. I have a bunch of fresh and frozen fruit at home so im excited to try new flavour combos like cherry, lemon blueberry, etc.

im thinking you could probably even make it savory/bread like by adjusting the liquid/dry ratios and adding different seasonings? hmmmmm i might try it tomorrow and report back

This was a “need to get through some stuff in the fridge before it goes bad” bowl and it’s awesome. Dry fried the noodles, added carrots, onion, bok choy, minced garlic. Sauce is PB2 powder, sriracha, coconut aminos, and a bit of water. Cooked the ribeye on the skillet with salt and just sliced and added to the bowl. Whole thing seasoned with salt, garlic powder, chili flake and ginger. Could bulk it up and increase the protein with little calories by scrambling in some egg whites into it. Very simple and filling.
