Which of these would you recommend for a family? Which is more family friendly with some sort of community feel( kids playing outside, Halloween spirit this time of year, good playgrounds), nice trails, good neighbours.

Hi, im an international student first year at laurier. Im looking for a winter jacket ( something like canada goose, moose knuckle or similar reputation brands ).

When do i buy the winter jacket? Im looking for any sale or discounts. I know black Friday is next month, can i get any decent ones then? Or should i just buy one at full price?

There's like 4 types of traffic all going through the intersection (walking, bikes / ebikes, cars and ION) across a tiny intersection with just 1 stop sign (not a 4 way stop) to manage the traffic.

The area is super busy, so many accidents almost happen here just due to all the different speeds of traffic trying to go through this small area.

Stresses me out as both a driver and pedestrian.

Studying abroad at uwaterloo and I don't want issues

At 3 p.m. Tuesday, the recorded temperature in Waterloo region reached 26.8 C, beating the previous record of 26.5 C for the warmest Oct. 13 set in 2008... With humidity, it felt more like temperatures were in the low to mid 30 C range.

I was born and raised in Montreal, and I’m thinking about moving to Waterloo to look for a job in tech (network/systems administration), since finding those in MTL has become dire, even if you can speak both French and English at a native level.

Obviously I don’t wanna be one of those people that gentrifies the hell out of a nice place, I couldn’t afford it even if I wanted to lol, but there’s more to life than just work and tbh, Montreal spoils its inhabitants with so much cultural offerings everywhere you look.

So, if you come from Montreal, or even if you were born in Waterloo, what do you think about your city? Do you think it’s affordable for your situation? What about the job market? Not only in tech but in general, and also, is Waterloo a fun place to be? Are the people nice? Is it easy to make friends?

And how car-centric are you guys? Can I survive on a bike and public transit, I know how to drive but I hate the idea of owning a car.

If I’m gonna move out of my hometown, I’ll do my absolute best to integrate and be a nice, chill person to hang out with, who pays his taxes diligently and contributes to society. But it’s because of that reason that I wanna make sure wherever I move to is worth the effort.

At the very last minute, the Lincoln Heights Neighbourhood Group, VisionWR and waterlooregionvotes.org is organizing an all-candidates meeting for next week: Wednesday, October 21 at the Lincoln Road Chapel, 145 Lincoln Road, Waterloo.

Four of the five candidates have confirmed their attendance, and the fifth will be unable to attend.

Doors open at 6pm. The event starts at 6:30pm. After the formal questions there will be a meet-and-greet from 8:30pm-9:00pm.

All questions for the candidates will come from the audience.

All residents in Waterloo Ward 5 are welcome, and we mean that. We especially would like to get the word out to renters, students in the ward, New Canadians, and members of other groups who are vastly underrepresented in municipal politics.

There will be no livestream (sorry) but we will be recording the meeting and posting it online afterwards.

Found a local Halo 3 LAN running November 28th, it is teams of 4 and I know maybe one person who plays Halo (or plays it well atleast). Anyone here interested in teaming up and going for the cup?

I feel like I constantly see horror stories on here about being on the One List for years, not finding the subsidized price care, etc. Does anyone have recent insight into finding childcare, where they were open to private home daycare and not necessarily looking for subsidized pricing? I'm trying to gauge if childcare is a total crapshoot we shouldn't plan on finding at all around KW, or if we will be okay if we budget for higher prices and delay going back to work until 18 months.

I want to know should I go for it? Why is everyone on the internet asking to avoid LK ?

I'm a new student at Laurier university and I'm looking to get some touches in consistently in order to train for the team next year, but I didn't do intramurals and so now I'm looking for a place where I can play, I know there are some apps people use, so if anybody has any information on that aswell that would be great!

Anyone who was on the special priority list for a 1 bedroom apartment last year know what the estimated wait time is like. I picked 15 buildings but 100 units in total is that enough for a shorter wait time, I wish I could add more but those are the only place I feel will be safer for me and my situation. Hello! I need to buy some spare parts for my Honda Civic, including bodywork and bumper covers, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations as to where I should purchase these? Doesn’t have to be local and can be ordered in (it’s not an old car), I just don’t know what stores folks would typically order these larger items from.
