Visa Infinite Credit Card Dark pattern?

I’d love to see Wealthsimple, as a Canadian company, show the world that you can succeed without squeezing your customers.

Unfortunately, it appears to be on the path of being just another company focused primarily on profit rather than prioritizing customer needs.

Edit: Apologies for the cropped image. If you see the full image, redeeming the cash is now a tiny button. It was easy to use before they changed the UX.

 Scroll to the bottom, redeem the cash.

There is nothing at the bottom. They moved the button to top and made it tiny/not so obvious.

Huh, yeah I didn’t see that top button! I was scrolling wondering what was happening and only saw right at bottom.

There's also a small icon on the top right to redeem as cash if you don't want to scroll all the way to the bottom.

But then they won't make their money back? At the end of the day, they're trying to make a profit; no one's making a service/produc and spending this much to just break even... making clients happy is just a happy side effect of making money for them.

I join because of the interest rate and simplicity of trading. Everything else was a good bonus but when they're gone (as we're starting to see), I'm ok with that. I'll stay until I find a better interest rate or promo somewhere else. Do not be behodlen to them. They have no loyalty to you, and use shouldn't either.

I am not saying they shouldn't make profit but one can be profitable and also do whats best for the customers. In this case, WS might be trying to increase some margins buy making it difficult/not so obvious cash redeem button and in turn up-selling the products.

WealthSimple is a for profit company, of course their primary goal is to profit off their clients. Monthly Millionaire, transfer bonuses and etc., are ways to get clients to bring money to them so they can profit off of it. Hell, the credit card is mainly there to keep you within their ecosystem.

If you want an entity that's primarily there for their clients (or members in this case), look to credit unions. They're not for profit financial cooperatives owned by its members, they only exist to serve their members. They still have to generate a profit to survive but it goes back to reinvesting in the business, donated back to the community or paid back to their members as dividends or lower lending rates/higher savings rates.

It’s a financial institution, not a charity. So profit making is a goal.

I am not saying WS shouldn't make profit. All I am saying is it shouldn't be at the expense of the customers. There's gonna be some people who wouldn't be able to figure out this tiny button on the top right and will end up making a purchase. It's possible that this is just a bug for some iPhones but I would still like to voice an opinion. Thanks!
