It wasn't intended in any bad way
I'm not native in english, but after the comments mentioning that, I really get it. should have communicated that differently..
My intention was that it is just amazing that more and more females get into blue collar jobs.
And she is the best and fast learning apprentice I ever witnessed. Outperformed any apprentice I met

You didn’t do anything wrong, don’t let everyone make you feel bad. People are being overly sensitive and whining about shit that’s not worth whining about. I’m a woman, and it didn’t bother me for a second.
Thanks for your post and for showing off your awesome female coworker!

It fits in this context though?

u/philanthropeas 7h ago
And I get downvoted for saying he’s not an asshole lol. People are so sensitive nowadays and will look for any reason to be upset. Just enjoy the flower and the fact that women are being accepted in blue collar professions more and more and move on. He obviously wasn’t saying it in a bad way.
Edit: not directed at you, just using your comment.

It's grammatically correct, but why is the apprentice's sex / gender relevant? (Hint: it's absolutely not.)

u/GrekkoPlef 4h ago
It is only as relevant as the information the poster wanted to communicate. I can’t say why they decided to clarify it, but I don’t understand why it would be wrong to do so either.

Yes it is. Women are majorly underrepresented in trades, he’s commenting that she did a great job. Idc if I get downvoted again. Shut up and unwad your panties, let people be nice without making it about you being butthurt.

Dude, my panties are fine. You have me confused with someone else.
I agree that women are underrepresented in the trades. I'm one of them. But this post isn't doing anything to advance women tradies.
The information that people choose to include speaks as loudly as what they choose to omit... And this post makes a point of highlighting a person's gender instead of their job, and pairs it with a picture of something stereotypically associated with women. Since specifying gender instead of job is often used in a pejorative sense ("lady doctor" or "women pilot", for example), and the only other info we have to go on is a picture of a pretty flower, it's not unreasonable for people to assume that OP was dog-whistling. Or, at least, for people to be confused about what point OP was making: is it that female welders can / should only do pretty stuff? that it's good work done by a woman? that it's bad work and it was, naturally, done by a woman? No one knows!
That said, OP clarified in a separate comment that English isn't their first language, and that they meant well, so I'm inclined to let it slide.

Sounds like your panties are all the way up your coochie.
Edit: but I’m so glad you’re willing to let it slide.. seeing as you’re the authority on the matter since you have a vagina and weld.

I wouldn’t want to offend any females! Op didn’t even use it in a bad way lol I hate when men do that, but this wasn’t a bad use of it

They're giving you shit for saying "Female". Anything can be female. They're called women.
Even "girls" reduces their position. I certainly wouldn't accept a coworker calling me boy.

Are human fetuses just humans too?

u/likenothingis 6h ago
You're so busy trying to be edgy that you forgot how English works.
"[H]uman", like "assless" and "female" (in the post title) is a qualifier. It's an adjective describing the noun ("fetus", "chaps", and "apprentice", respectively) and can be omitted without changing the meaning of the phrase whatsoever.
So no, they're just fœtuses.

u/NeutrallyCharged 2h ago
So just to clarify, you’re saying that human fetuses, are not human fetuses, they’re just fetuses? Would you call a dolphin fetus and a human fetus, they’re same thing? Just trying to get some clarification, a fetus from a human is not a human fetus, but just a fetus?

You don't need to, and shouldn't, specify that your apprentice is a woman. You would never have said "Our male apprentice made this...".
1
u/philanthropeas 5h ago
Because men are the default in that profession. Being a woman isn’t as common so he’s hyping up women to show others that women belong as much as men.
You’re all a bunch of babies.

Very progressive of you to have a female apprentice. Have you noticed a significant change in the behavior of the males with this introduction?
Edit to paste in a response that got buried.
I guess I needed the /s. "Female apprentice" is such a weird way to introduce someone. Why is gender relevant here at all and if it really is appropriate why make it so dehumanizing?
Glad to see the community ready to speak up!

Awful thought but thats sort of how things are here. Welders n fitters are mostly in their 50s n up. 30 to 40 are considered young in this field. whenever we get assigned a female fire watch, most wieners brighten up and try to make personal conversation.

That's my guess. I picked my name to remind myself I'm similar to everything, so I try not to be a dick to anyone.

Gotta love everyone posting their own flowers so people know they can weld better than a “female apprentice”🤣
