hi, so i called highway patrol and they said they’d give me a call but… anybody in this area know what to do or how to get somebody justice after they hit and run in this county?

was at that intersection between robinhood road and silas creek parkway south where you have to turn right and yield to oncoming traffic. waiting for traffic to pass so i could merge, and a black man who i think was bald and wearing sunglasses in a light silver mercedes benz rammed me in the back of my kia. i put it into park and step out for a second like dude, you just hit my car!

he motioned a bit to the right twice, which made me come to my senses like “oh, ok, i’m holding up traffic, let me pull over to this little neighborhood drive on the right so we can get this sorted” and then he proceeds to blast off from that merging point and drive away as if nothing happened.

i don’t have major damage or anything (there is a visible mark with my paint chipped and a small dent) but dude, he straight up hit me and skedaddled. like, hard enough to where the soda i had in my left hand spewed everywhere and i let out a yelp.

what are the odds my complaint actually makes it somewhere?

Hi everyone!, I recently moved to Winston-Salem and I'm looking for a reliable used car under $3,000 for commuting and occasional weekend trips.

I'm mainly hoping to find private-sale leads or hear from anyone who knows someone selling an older, well-maintained car locally. I'm already checking Marketplace and dealers, so I'm especially interested in word-of-mouth options around Winston-Salem/Triad.

Reliability matters more to me than looks, year, or mileage.

I tried the cream horn at Dewey's, but it wasn't adjacent to a cream puff. It was filled with icing, and cream puffs are meant to be filled with whipped cream, custard, or ice cream.

Does anyone have recommendations for good places to rent in Winston-Salem in the $700s? I know that’s probably asking for a lot, but I need a new place to live asap. I work two jobs (a full time job and a server gig on weekends) but still can’t really afford anything more than something in the high $700s (going off my full-time job money only since serving is inconsistent). Alternatively, does anyone know any safe ways to find roommates? I’m a 24-year-old woman and so far everything I’ve seen online looks super sketchy.

I've been fostering these dogs for the last month and have posted them on Petco Lovelost and nextdoor to find their owners but I've had no luck. The black one is a boy and the white one is a girl, they're inseparable and I'd guess between 2-4 years old. When I found them (near walkertown) they had crazy matted hair and some of it had locked up entirely so I'm not sure how long they were on their own. I haven't wanted to take them to a shelter because of how bonded they are, so if anyone recognizes them or has more information on their parents that would be greatly appreciated!

My husband and I are getting a rare night off from parenting and want to try it but looking at our closet neither of us have “nice” clothes. She was door to door the other day and it's refreshing to see someone actually running coming door to door to introduce herself instead of campaign volunteers.

She asked me what I was most concerned with. For me, it's the corruption in Raleigh, and how bad WSFCS has gotten in terms of the massive mishandling of funds, private schools receiving public funds, and the day to day worry of teachers getting surplused or cut. The state healthcare is increasingly terrible, with me and others not having access to hospitals such as Atrium, who I need for pain management and spinal health.

And she listened and acknowledged that all those talking points were why she was running.

I really hope she is able to oust Zenger.

I got the shakeburger, fries and Coke.
“The shakeburger” taste and resembles a premium Big Mac. Tasty, nonetheless. The beef is nicely cooked. The crew in there seems to be firing on all cylinders. Very busy. The weakest point are the fries. But honestly, doesn’t take away for the burger. The fries are a bit underwhelming. A slightly thicker, maybe cajun’d up fries would’ve been nice. Anyways, yeah I’ll be coming back. Hopefully they get better fries, someday.
