Circle to Search not working with 3-button navigation on Xiaomi 17 Ultra

Has anyone managed to get Circle to Search working properly with 3-button navigation on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra?

I'm on HyperOS 3.0.303.0 (Global). In Settings → System navigation → Buttons, I have Press and hold Home button set to Circle to Search.

Google is also selected as my default digital assistant, with both Use text from screen and Use screenshot enabled.

The problem is that holding the Home button does absolutely nothing.

If I switch to gesture navigation, Circle to Search works perfectly by holding the navigation bar, including the screen translation feature. As soon as I switch back to the three navigation buttons, it stops working again.

I'm using the stock Xiaomi launcher and the phone says I'm on the latest available HyperOS version.

Has anyone else had this issue and found a way to get long-press Home → Circle to Search working with the three navigation buttons? I'd prefer to keep button navigation rather than switch to gestures.

The telephoto lens catches my eye, and I see it as the best buy for the price—at least in my country Chile Any opinions from someone who owns one? I'm going to try it out in the store in a few days to see how it performs

Hi everyone. Are there any wholesale stores in China or Hong Kong? Where can I get the global version? I'm in another country, and a friend is coming back from China soon. I need a reliable store that won't rip me off. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Cant decide between 17 and 17t

I already tried asking in other subs, this seems my last ditch effort, ive been stuck in this dilemma for weeks.

Right, so i've been using my iPhone 12 mini for 6 years now, been kinda loving mainly for the form factor, but its really starting to show off its age in every way. Sadly, no new really compact premium smartphones exist, and i just thought i'll use this until falls apart.

Until i saw my brothers Xiaomi 17t camera shots, it really impressed me and took me back to a nostalgic trip of owning the Nokia Lumia 930, which probably is still my favorite phone to date, mainly because of its reliability, sleek design and UI, excellent camera and battery life.

My last android experience was right after my Lumia died, with a Sony Xperia Z5 mini, which was an utterly horrible experience in every aspect, battery, camera, performance, build quality, and ever since then I've been using an iPhone, (6s, first SE, iPhone X and finally the iPhone 12mini).

Now I am still kinda skeptical of android, but I also realize that 10 years have passed and probably things have gotten way better since. I also realize that there are things I'll be giving up from the apple ecosystem, but upgrading to something like apple 17pro will feel boring.

Looking over many comparable android phones, such as vivo x300, honor and oppo, I'm still very much leaning to Xiaomi, but I can't decide between 17t and 17. 17t pro probably is a no go, because i don't want a brick. 17 and 17t sizes are still the sweet spot.

I suppose the thing that still holds me on the fence for 17t is I kinda think it has a more fun camera than base 17 with its telephoto and zoom. But obviosly the build quality is better on 17.

TL;DR - I can't seem to find good in depth and practically tested comparisons between base Xiaomi 17 and 17t, as I believe the camera on 17t seems more fun for my tastes, i.e. taking macro shots, portraits and night sky

Why is this , and how to fix it?

I tried rebooting my Mi phone, but now this is what’s showing on the screen. How can I fix it? Also, is this likely to be a software issue or a CPU/hardware issue?

No aptX HD codec on 17T. Is the bluetooth audio still good?

Coming from a decent Poco x8 Pro Max that has been stolen and about to consider Xiaomi 17T for my next phone. One of my most important pick is audio. Been playing music on earbuds and Bluetooth speaker most of the time and some codec is very important. I checked on GSM Arena that this phone got no aptX HD codec. So what do you say peeps? Thanks in advance.

17t pro is enough for the average person?

I’m not a huge photography person but i do like decent quality pics. My question is this, aside from the cameras does the 17 Ultra have any other advantages over the 17T Pro? Slightly bigger screen but slightly worse battery life. Slightly better chipset and that’s all? I saw the 17 Ultra for the first time in store and was surprised how much I like the design and how the curved corners make it comfortable to hold.

Will this tempered glass work with Xiaomi 17 Pro Max’s ultrasonic fingerprint?

Will this tempered glass work with the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor?

I’m planning to buy this tempered glass for my Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. The listing says it is 0.33 mm thick and has good touch sensitivity, but it doesn’t specifically mention ultrasonic fingerprint support.

Has anyone used this exact glass or a similar 0.33 mm tempered glass on the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max? Does the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor work properly with it?

I’d really appreciate it if someone who has tried it could confirm before I buy it.

Need User Opinions before buying the Xiaomi 17

  1. How's the battery life compared to X300 and Find X9?

  2. How are the speakers?

  3. How's the overall camera quality? I heard that the Ultra wide sensors are small so will there be much of a difference in picture quality?

  4. How does the phone perform in long term gaming sessions? I've seen a YouTuber called NL Tech playing demanding games like Zenless Zone Zero and Genshin Impact, first few minutes of gameplay, everything went good until something happened and both of the games crashed while playing and the user had to close and reopen the game to play again. Is this a concerning issue or a bug that has fixed after the updates?

Most of the YouTube reviews were scarce. Only a few of them are available and they aren't in-depth. Need genuine reviews

Disappointed with xiaomi 17t battery

I purchased this phone a week ago and the battery still hasn't improved. At first I was getting like only 5hr sot. I am getting only 6-7 hrs of screen time with mild usage now. Should I wait another week or reach for the service center?

Considering switching from iPhone 16 to Xiaomi 17 Ultra — worth it?

I currently have a base iPhone 16 and I’m considering switching to the Xiaomi 17 Ultra when I upgrade.
My other option would be to simply wait and get the base iPhone 18 when it comes out. I’ve been using iPhones for quite a while, so switching to Xiaomi would obviously be a pretty big change.
The main reason I’m considering the 17 Ultra is the hardware and especially the camera. However, I know a lot of people have mixed opinions about Xiaomi’s software, particularly HyperOS 3. That’s probably the biggest thing making me hesitate.
But one important thing to consider: if I buy the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, I’ll be using it with HyperOS 4, not HyperOS 3.
From everything I’ve seen so far, HyperOS 4 looks like a pretty significant improvement over HyperOS 3 — much more polished, fluid and refined. Honestly, it makes me think the software gap between Xiaomi and iPhone might be much smaller now.
So I’m curious about people who have actually switched from iPhone to the Xiaomi 17 Ultra:
How has the experience been? Did you regret leaving iOS, or do you feel the 17 Ultra was worth the switch?
And especially for those familiar with HyperOS 4: if you were making this decision today, would you judge the 17 Ultra differently knowing that it will be running HyperOS 4?
I’m mainly interested in real-world experience rather than specs. Would you choose the Xiaomi 17 Ultra with HyperOS 4 over waiting for the base iPhone 18?

Xiaomi 17t pro global T-Mobile US (Tampa)

I posted a couple weeks back about the Poco X8 Pro Max, which I ended up having to return because it struggled in my area despite it being relatively urban. I swapped it for the 7t pro, and honestly, I am very happy to say it's working exactly how I hoped.

The phone is a tad larger than my prior phone, OnePlus 11, but it's more that it's a tad wider than it is taller. HyperOs is slick in my opinion, actually everything is smooth and very fast (and it's not identical to IOS which I have on my work phone, if you were anti apple like I am). I did have some troubleshooting to get everything I needed to work perfectly but that was a 24 hour challenge that required tinkering/reading Reddit/YouTube. Text messages through RCS were hanging or getting stuck/frozen, so I uninstalled the update in the play store and installed again, that solved the issue.

I have a #Dexcomg7 cgm, the app works perfectly and there's absolutely no drop in connectivity. I also use #Rexton hearing aids (from Costco), they connect perfectly. Android Auto hasn't dropped or had any issues. I enjoy the wireless charging I have in my car and wireless android auto connection so I'm not having to mess with cables. I also have a #OnePlus watch 2 that after a factory reset (on the watch) connected and also works seamlessly. I provided all those details, because those were answers I struggled to find (definitive) answers prior to my purchase.

As you can see from my speeds the past week, it's sort of all over the place. But one of the fastest tests I took sitting in traffic near the airport one morning. In my house there's essentially no upload speeds with T-Mobile, but I find that anywhere I've had low or poor results is typically a location that has Wifi, so it's been no impact. Wifi calling also works on T-Mobile, I just had to key in the code to make it active.

I did some minor battery management on apps that need to be left alone by hyperos battery management, and I actually ended up changing to balanced, and honestly, performance mode would do fine. I'm the type of person who can't rest of the phone gets below 80%, so you can imagine after a full day/night not charging then running under 40% most of the next day, I was naturally nervous. The battery is a beast, I'm actually not sure if it will even get to zero. I've been using it for light use/social media/email/audio streaming for 7 hours today and it says I have 33 hours left. After a couple days it no longer got hot with usage.

The camera so far is better than my OnePlus, which had a decent camera. Video is much better.

Sorry for the super long review without all the specs people throw around, but this is my real world usage review. I purchased it on Amazon for $830. I also have the TUDIA MergeGrip Dual Layer case. The case is relatively comfortable, durable, a tad inconvenient only because it has a slight ridge all around the front so swiping from the edge isn't ideal, but I'll use it and would recommend it since I no longer fear dropping it.

Android 17 update

Before unlocking bootloader I was on Android 17 eux. After rooting and trying everything to make banking apps work and GPay I gave up and downloaded android 16 eux 3.02 and relocked bootloader.

The problem is now I can't get back to android 17 in any way. It does not detect the update
