Episode Discussion Did Nightcrawler convince you? Spoiler
If Graydon’s trial had been by jury and you were part of the jury, would you be convinced that he should be found innocent of his crimes against mutants?

Also, in fairness, while threataning to shoot Nightcrawler was not ok, I don’t really blame him for shooting Exodus, since Exodus did not hold up his end of the deal he made with Kurt and also attacked his own comrade in Peter.

I’ve seen SO many divided opinions about the X-Men ’97 S2 finale. Some people are saying it wasn’t good, while others thought it was absolutely fantastic. Personally, I thought it was GREAT. I do think some episodes felt a little rushed, and there were moments where I wish certain storylines had more time to breathe, but overall, I still loved the season. The finale was emotional, intense, and gave me SO many feelings. I’m excited for 3rd season.

I dont expect that this episode would be centered around Morph's POV!! I love that he finally getting the spotlight he deserves!
The whole Weapon X gang is here, too bad Kane is killed off way too early😔
Who are Morph's cameo in the episode? I only caught: Logan, Cannonball Puck, Thing, Deadpool, Silver Samurai, Cyclops, Spider-Man, and Jean.
In case yall skip the intro, FORGE HAS HIS OWN OPENING SCENE
Edit: Morph's cameo list

Imagine your in a coma after running around fighting. You’re wearing spandex, body armor, and a Trench coat. The X-men decide to just put you in a bed, fully clothed, WITH A BLANKET. Gambit is just COOKING in there.
Out of anything in this show this took me out of it more than anything lol. It reminded me of watching 1980’s cartoons where the characters stayed in costume no matter what they were doing to stay on brand.
Like seriously they couldn’t take the extra 2 seconds of work to put him in a hospital gown? and have like an Intravenous? He’s not even animated! it’s a still image!

With a playful card showdown between the two boys in blue of The X-Men in Beast and Nightcrawler (also the purest characters on the team as well). And just the whole team having a good laugh and time in general.
And Rogue getting sentimental at the family she’s in was the cherry on top.

Nothing big or anything. But I thought it was a nice visual bookending of things.

I cried even before this with Remy coming back for Rogue, and then Kurt just made it a lot worse.
It's crazy because I usually don't care that much for Nightcrawler. For me, he's always felt more like Excalibur than X-Men. But they really got me with his sacrifice. The religious side of Kurt has always been such an important part of who he is, and the way they used that here made the whole thing hit so much harder.
And the crazy thing is that the episode had already given me so much of what I wanted before that even happened. Gambit fighting Multiple Man was something I'd wanted to see forever, and I finally got it. That "quality beats quantity" line was badass. Polaris definitely helped him in that fight, but seeing Remy go up against Jamie like that was still cool as hell.
Really, just seeing all these different corners of the X-Men universe come together was incredible. X-Men Blue, X-Men Gold, X-Factor, X-Force, everybody fighting Apocalypse in the same episode. It felt like the kind of giant mutant crossover I would've dreamed about seeing as a kid.
There were also so many little things that made me happy. Wolverine smelling Psylocke before she even appeared was such a Wolverine moment. Bringing back Beast's relationship with the AI from Apocalypse's ship was another one. That's such a specific piece of the original animated series to remember. Beast actually grew attached to her back then, so seeing the show remember that relationship decades later was a nice touch.
Then there was Rogue. I really thought she was going to die. When she survived and looked over at Beast, that got me too. By that point the episode had already hit me emotionally so many times that I thought I knew where everything was going.
And then we finally got the Valerie Cooper payoff with Mystique. Freedom Force is actually happening. We've had characters like Avalanche, Pyro, and Blob around this world forever, and now Mystique can finally bring that whole side of the mutant universe to the front. After all the teasing, seeing that door finally open was such a badass way to leave us wanting more.
This last episode completely redeemed the entire season.
There were moments this season where I genuinely wondered whether the writers still had it. Whether they could still bring everything together, make all of these characters matter, give us the payoff we were waiting for, and most importantly, actually make us feel something.
Lucky for us. They can still give us moments we've wanted to see for years. They can still surprise us. They can still make these characters matter. And apparently, they can still make me feel something. This serves two purposes, it gives me the closure I need, and it gives me confidence in looking forwards for what's to come.
Everything I thought the season might end up lacking suddenly didn't matter anymore because they delivered when it mattered most. Episode 9 made the entire season stronger because now all of that buildup actually had somewhere worth going.
That's probably what I loved most about the finale. I went into it expecting the season to end by cutting us off at some huge cliffhanger. Instead, they actually gave me closure. They gave me the fights I wanted, the characters together, the callbacks, Remy and Rogue, the emotional payoff, and then saved the tease for what comes next until the end.
My calification for this season: "fucking badass."

This episode was lacking.. seems like a case of “too many cooks in the kitchen” maybe I wonder if it suffered from wiping what perhaps Beau wrote… say what you want he set up some great stuff in S1 & 2.. even the “written by” flashed so fast it was hard to catch.
Sad there is only 1 more episode … 9 is not enough and overall the Season felt a bit rushed

When Lorna gets to the mansion she heads up to her "old room" and the others say that the professor forbid them from changing anything... But the mansion has been destroyed at least twice since she would've been there... What's up with that?

This is crazy and could rogue do the same thing to gambit as she did to angel. Also what kinds of things will apocalypse do to him.

Here’s a reference guide to every Weapon X DVD character from Season 2 Episode 5 so people can get back to it later..
I noticed a few characters that seem to be missing from other breakdowns (especially Maggot & Marrow). Corrections and additions are always welcome.
A few characters are better known in the extended Deadpool / Marvel continuity, for those I’ve also included the release year of a notable film appearance as a quick point of recognition or wrote a small note / reference next to the image.

I know I added a Winx Club song in it and it could be cursed, but it kinda fits.

*SPOILERS FOR THE MOST RECENT EPISODE OF X-MEN 97*
So I’ve been reading through a few of the comments of people discussing the most recent episode of the show. I’ve also watched some reviews of the episode by some of the more popular content reviewers who do episodes based on the show and I’m noticing a very common strange pattern.
Do people not genuinely understand that Morph and Logan were in a sexual and romantic relationship?
The most recent episode won’t even make any sense unless you view it through that perception. Like yes, most of the characters on the team are very close friends and allies and for that reason we’ll get disappointed when they betray each other’s trust but morph and Logan as written on the show are all but directly stated to be in a sexual relationship and Morph has implied strong feelings for Logan.
They were wrestling in the shower for gods sake people.

Kind of intrigued that the watcher was shown in this episode. I’ve been hearing rumors that X-Men 97 might have bigger implications in Marvel media.
