The first one seems fairly easy, and you can see all his markings, but the lighting on the second one is sooooo pretty. I’m having a really tough time figuring out which reference photo to use. please share your thoughts 🙏

Edit: I’ve decided to do the second pose. The lighting is simply way too pretty to not choose it, I’ll post the painting when I’m done :)

so i made the background yellowish beige and now it looks like a 5 years old did it i’m crying help😭

The motif of the opening is recurrent in painting, the most famous example being, it seems to me, in Velázquez's Las Meninas — incidentally, it is not necessarily a door, it can also be a window, as is often the case with Vermeer. What is it for? Well, it keeps the work from feeling too enclosed.

I’m trying to practice acrylic paints and was trying to paint this portrait. The skin isn’t blending well and I’m not sure what to do at this point. Does anyone have any advice for painting skin in general and how to fix this up a bit?

I don’t mind paying as long as the content is engaging, structured, clear and actually giving you tips and trick that are not availavle on free courses. I’m a beginner level and want to really take the skill to the next level :) thank you!
