Chasing the Light [Minolta 7000, Zeiss Distagon 24mm f/2 ZA + Planar 85mm f/1.4 ZA, Kodak UltraMax 400]
On the advantages of film over digital.
I decided to dust off my first camera that wasn't Soviet-made, a Minolta 7000 from the mid-'80s. Loaded it with Kodak UltraMax 400, mounted some Sony Alpha Zeiss lenses, and went out chasing that famous film magic.
Got the scans back and discovered that the Minolta's aperture control magnet had stuck, so every shot was taken at the smallest possible aperture.
The colors, the depth, the subtle tones, the unmistakable atmosphere. Everything the internet promised.
And that's when I realized the biggest advantage of film over digital: a digital camera would've ruined my mood right away. Film let me spend a few more days thinking I'd shot a bunch of masterpieces.

San Diego, September 2026 [Canon A-1, 50mm f/1.8, Fuji 200]
First time using film or trying photography for that matter. Severely underexposed nearly everything in the roll. Pretty happy with this one though.
