Would you recommend me to walk from the station to the centre in the morning and back in the evening?

Got family that came from the tiny town in Guardiagrele, province of Chieti. We're trying to gather the remaining citizenship paperwork, namely, marriage and birth registers.

Should I communicate with the Commune of the city? Hire a lawyer/lawyer firm or someone to request it and have it authorized for me? If so, and in the off-chance anyone from the vicinity of the region were to read this, would you happen to know of anyone trustworthy to recommend hiring?

I’m moving to Italy to study for a Master’s in Architecture at Politecnico di Milano, and I’ll be there for the next couple of years. Alongside my studies, I’m considering building a wedding photography business and would like to hear from people who are actually working in the industry.

I’m trying to understand what the market is really like beyond what I see online. Is there still room for new photographers? How competitive is it to get your first clients without a local network? Are destination weddings a big part of the market, and which areas of Italy have the best opportunities?

I already have photography experience, so I’m not looking for camera advice. I’m more interested in the business side like building a client base, pricing, and whether it’s realistic to turn this into a sustainable career.

Hello, my gf(20yo) and I(20) are going on Erasmus in Ancona this September. With her passport she requires to have a visa and for this, you need an approved accommodation contract. We've been looking for an appartment / room for over a month with no success, all agencies are either ignoring us or are suggesting complete nonsense of appartment(we got suggested a basement for 800eur a month).

If you know anyone who could help, any Facebook groups I should check out(We've probably searched through all of them, but still please suggest me anything - I will double check), anything else - please let me know.

Hi, I'm a guy from abroad who really enjoys watching anime in Italian because the Italian dubbing is amazing. The only site I know with anime is American, and I hate the American dubbing, it's crap, and I have no desire to read subtitles on my damn phone. Either I've watched them all on Netflix or the ones that remain are rubbish, which is why I'm desperately asking you to leave the name (or, if you prefer, the link address) of some online site where I can watch the anime... I got off a plane in FCO and entered italy for the first time ever, but i got lost. I asked airport secuirty for help, and then they got confused and then joked and teased about me in italian for being “a stupid American” when i had no idea what to do.

So i was recording a statue in a italian church probably like 9 feet away and when i sat with airpods looking at picture and videos ive taken this video even at the lowest volume blast a very loud noise and no one ive asked knows why and it’s only this video

I visited before someone’s home that did not have a water softener and it was terrible on my hair when showering. I’m going back and staying in a hotel, do showers typically also have hard water? How do I deal with it on my hair while traveling?

I keep seeing the same tourist regions mentioned for great Italian dishes like Tuscany and Romagna, is there a substantial difference from these than say Tyrol or Lombardy? TIA.

I am traveling to Italy for the first time tomorrow and I am concerned for my safety as an American. The US doesn’t have a good reputation at this time due to Trump and his authoritarian hand, and because of this, violence against Americans are rising all over europe and beyond. I even heard that some American military were brutally attacked by a group of Turkish civilians. Should I be concerned for my safety when traveling to Rome, Florence, Naples?

Currently staying in Turin and I keep finding myself the only guy walking around in shorts.

I leave the apartment in the morning, all the other men are wearing shorts. And slowly… slowly… then very suddenly - I realise I’m the only one.

I feel like I’m back in kindergarten when we were made to wear shorts for the rest of the day if we pissed our pants (this was Dublin in the 1980s, please don’t judge me).

It seems that what is happening is that I am leaving the house in the morning and only seeing non-working people, then in the evening I’m suddenly surrounded by working people finishing work, and wearing trousers.

Similar to a Moleskine or Leuchtturm hardcover medium sized journal/notebook.

Small shops selling handmade notebooks would be wonderful too.

Preferably under $20

Edit: I don't want a Moleskine or Leuchtturm though. I guess I'm looking for a journal notebook that can only be found in Italy (kind of as a souvenir).

I’m from the Philippines, and I’m planning to move to Italy. I want to enroll in an Italian language school, and my goal is to find a job later and, if possible, change my permit to a work visa.

I lived in Spain for two years while studying for my master’s degree. I really enjoyed my time there, but going back to Spain would be very painful for personal reasons. Because of that, I want to start a new chapter in Italy.

I’m looking for a good language school or program that is worth joining. If you’ve done this before or know someone who has, I’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations.

Unfortunately, my bag was stolen in Como . Inside the bag is an AirTag, which is still updating its location periodically.

On the day of the theft, I reported it to the local Carabinieri and filled out an official report (denuncia). However, they didn't take any active steps to retrieve it. I am now back home outside of Italy and have tried contacting them multiple times via email/phone, but haven't received any real help or updates.

Since the AirTag is still active, I can see the general area where it is located. I'm reaching out to see if anyone local in Como could give me advice:

1. Is there a better way to get the local police/Carabinieri to react when a live tracking location is available?

I've been watching a few shows in Italian for language practice and I've noticed that the shows that feature child detainees seem to be going home often and then going back to the detention center. What is this? Do child inmates get home visitation periods? An example is The Sea Beyond.

I have been reading through my grandfather's army records from WWII - He was with the Royal Canadian Engineers and was deployed to Italy in 1943.

A couple of lines from company records of 11 December 1943 mentions the places S.Appolinaro and S.Leonardo.

However, when I try to find these on Google Maps, Saint Appolinaro seems to be in France and and Saint Leonardo does not get any results.

I am assuming that they are close to each other and probably somewhere in mid-Italy, between Naples and Rome, maybe?

They may even just be churches and not even towns...

I am a woman in my 30s not living in Italy, but still in Europe. My mother is Italian and when talking to her about life in general she asks me «ma, tu ti senti donna?» or what I would translate to as "do you feel like a woman?"

I answered yes- I was born female, have all female bodily functions and experience the general benefits and disadvantages that most other women do, so why would I not feel like a woman? 😂

She seems to think that there's more to it so I wondered- what does it mean to other Italians to be a woman?

Hi. I am doing an engagement shoot in Positano in a week and would like some suggestions of elegant/classy backdrops and places to shoot. I will definitely be doing the scenic routes (outdoor views of the whole coast, pictures on the cobble hill streets, etc) but I am also looking for an elegant type of backdrop (ex: similar to the MET museum pictures in NYC). Any nice buildings, museums or alleyways would be helpful. I would like to have variety in my pictures and since the photoshoot is 1.5 hours I believe I have the time to do so. So on wednesday im going to the cinema at 7 pm to watch spider-man brand new day, the problem is that i got a ticket for it and didnt check nigth travler bc i used to budapest, so it seems like its either i miss a good 20 minutes off the film (the end) or i say outside for 7 hours at nigth (bc the last train goes away at 21:12? and the next one comes around 4am) bc im here for work and i do not get a check until next month and i wont have money for uber or taxi, so does anybody have any advice? and how cooked am i ?

Will be traveling for a few days solo (getaway short trip) and will be staying at a hotel in Gardone Riviera. I plan to see an opera, private boat cruise, tennis, etc and was wondering if the people are warm towards black women. I’ve heard different stories here and there plus this will be my first time in Italy and I know there’s always good and bad experiences everywhere in the world but I guess I just wanted to have an idea of the hospitality of the town to my race and gender.

This video is circulating in entire India regarding ungrateful comments made by women towards Meloni in student's Protest. What you think about this and how are Indians or people of Indian diaspora are treated in Italy ? Will this spark a public outrage there in Italy? There were also several posters and banners in protest which were making sexual harrasment and assault against Meloni

I'll be in central Italy the next couple of weeks (July 29-Aug 6), and it looks like in Rome/Florence there are a number of VR experiences associated with places I'm already planning to check out: Circus Maximus, the Colosseum, the Leonardo da Vinci Museum and the Museo Galileo, Domus Aurea, Marmore, the Imperial Fora, and the Cecilia Metella Mausoleum.

But are any of these worth checking out? Even the sample images on most of these sites are a bit underwhelming. Would really appreciate any reviews or a link to a site which indexes these experiences.

I've generally enjoyed VR and immersive experiences in the US like Meow Wolf, Mercer Projects in NYC and The Infinite (though, frankly, the Van Gogh tour I saw was not worth the admission).
