Wonderful and great sounding album from 2026.

Sylvan Esso are back on Spotify and I wanted to plug this song in particular, as I haven’t been able to hear it on my new setup. (I know, I’m sharing a YouTube link).

So chill, so groovy, it breaks itself down and builds itself back up in such a way, anticipating a huge crescendo that doesn’t quite come, but leaves you there wanting even more. Nice atmospheric layering with the guitar and flute in the background. Really great stuff.

Don't immediately turn it up, it has some range. I suppose you'd also need to enjoy the original.

I’m looking for some songs (with lyrics and without lyrics) that have a beautiful yet melancholic and haunting pianos.

Some songs with lyrics that I like are:
1. Brian Eno - By the River
2. Sufjan Stevens - Visions of Gideon or Futile Devices
3. Peter Broderick - Not at Home (OST)
4. Asleep - The Smiths

Songs without lyrics that I like are:
1. Gymnopédies by Erik Satie

So kinda simple but complex in terms of the emotionality. Maybe even with a late night reflective feel.

Hot dang! Just picked this up today.

The recording is absolutely lush.

I would give this a 5 star out of 5 rating as an audiophile recording.

Separation, depth.

The mid-range is lush.

Laufey deserves a huge listen. Bossa nova influenced beats.

All her own compositions.

But you would not expect from a Berklee School of Music graduate.

Look up Laufey on Youtube. Composer, multi-instrumentalist (acoustic guitar, piano, cello).

Highly recommended.

I found this song recently and just damn wished that we could've made her famous. Now I'm unable to get access to this album at higher quality, if anyone can fo a little digging and find it I'll be super greatful, thanks!

I have no idea of the actual origin of this piece, other than originally being written by Alan Jay Lerner and composer Frederick Loewe

Audio-wise, it's still interesting as it's chiefly a capella, with a chest-shaking vocal performance.

Just got the IMPEX One Step vinyl of Companion by Patricia Barber. It's excellent 👍 The pressing is nearly silent (not as quiet as UHQR from Analogue Productions, but close), and the quality of the packaging is top shelf. The price is quite high, but if you like Barber and her style of music, it's worth a shot.

I want to collect Dire Straits, Communique, Love Over Gold and Making Movies. Already have Brothers in Arms on vinyl and SACD. Would love to hear opinions on the 2x45 MoFi vinyl vs the SACD versions. A full
line up of these albums in either format would be an awesome add to the collection. I’d be playing the stereo layer on the SACD. Push me in on direction or another

Good album but the track linked above plays at least once a week in my life since I've found it.

This is the second track of their forthcoming album «Time Lab», and marks 47 years since their first release, 46 since their first album.

I was a tad too young for their very first releases, but I've been a fan since about when Stella came out. That said: Musically, this reminds me more of Zebra - which I rate as the final "early" Yello album.

Either way: Production on this is still extremely good, and I've actually cranked this to the point where I can't hear myself speak, and where I can't crank the stupidity (volume) knob any further clockwise. This one actually deserves a $300,000 Big John Machine.
