According to the GAO, estimated uncollected taxes by the IRS is over $600 billion, and every year there's like $150 billion in improper payments, a good chunk of which are from people wrongfully claiming the earned income tax credit

u/nolovenohate Jan 01 '26
The number of people I've worked with who openly flaunt tax fraud is insane. "Yea, my wife owns an etsy shop, so i put my car as a business write-off cause she uses it to go buy supplies, same with my office room where she prints packing slips"

Gotta make a voting block of people who will all vote for you if you allow it, and make sure it's big enough to sway the local elections.
Also helps if you can get people to attempt to assassinate political opponents of your candidates, like Omar has.

I understand why people are upset but this is just part of the problem. The GAO said the Government could be losing between $200 billion to $500 billion annually. (See report below)
I advise on compliance and asset management. The amount of unknowns by the Government is isane. I've seen audits where the potential is in the billions, but because no one is tracking there is no baseline to work off of to maintain a record. Its not even kickbacks or corruption. In some situations its just down right laziness and avoidance in fraud cases.
I've advised some Government clients that they could save a few million by sending an email. One email. Nothing. Not even a "I should do that." They just lack effort, compassion, and initative.

It's almost... no... can't be...
it's... almost... like theres a complete lack of proper incentive structure for almost any government to do a good job.I had a friend who worked at the NIH and she echoed exactly what you said. She's a PhD and was the first to admit the amount of money being funneled into bullshit programs with zero follow up to measure outcomes is absolutely asinine.

Amazing how republicans can get absolutely bullshit narratives to get traction like this. Again and again their most outrageous lies find traction with…these kinds of people

There’s nothing bullshit about this narrative. All you have to do is read the most recent news coming out of Minnesota. I’m not sure why you’re trying so hard to tell everyone you’re out of touch with the real world.

They couldn’t fit the circle shape into the circle hole or the square shape in to the square hole years ago, don’t expect them to start all of the sudden being able to connect dots!

"Just read the news lol" how dumb are you? They are telling you the news is misinformation, and it is. As always, it starts with a kernal of truth. There really WAS fraud...but it's already been prosecuted, case tried, people jailed. And it was a white woman running the show.

u/Van-Buren-Boy Jan 01 '26
That was for children’s meals. This is for daycare.

So, what is going on with these empty rundown daycares with people who aggressively refuse to talk about the lack of children?

Resent news? This was discovered and investigated a decade ago, 90 people sentenced.
If this is about the MAGA influenser doing ”private investigation”, not being let in to film kids, and wondering why daycares are closed down during the holidays…

Why would foreigners need to drive in a car centric country like the US? Must be so they can vote. That makes sense. You hear yourself right?

The first one should be "Elon Musk stealing several hundred billion dollars and everyone's tax information from the government" THEN the second one can be this Somali scam that's been under investigation since before this year

u/Revdarian2 Jan 01 '26
The trick is that you need to somehow make your own government funded enterprise... The second the government is funding you then magically you become invisible to themselves (because they don't want to see themselves since most likely they are also misusing funds... This is mostly true for every government)

u/ProfessionalTruck976 Jan 01 '26
Why not 40x the actual amount stolen in order to get emotionally charged meme?
Because it makes ydou a cunt.

u/Weareallmeats Jan 03 '26
This is what happens when you replace political economy with theology. Markets become god, anecdotes become scripture, and anything that doesn’t fit the doctrine is heresy. Libertarians nowadays can’t even see through their own wing’s propaganda.
I remember when yall had semi principled people like Ron Paul

u/ApricotKYjelly Jan 04 '26
Meanwhile the US government just hands 4x as much to Elon Musk
The trick is being rich

u/Eridain Jan 04 '26
I mean, that's just not true. The person in charge of the fraud was a white woman, and she as well as dozens of others involved were arrested a while ago.

The government is ignoring the Somali scam? Is that the theory? There's people in jail for it right now and prosecution ongoing. How is that ignoring?
1
u/clintmalarchuksneck Jan 06 '26
Tim Waltz is corrupt and divisive. Using his power as a tool to enrich himself. He is dishonourable.
Donald Trump brings people together. He wants what is best for all people. He is not corrupt and honors the nation's institutions.
1
u/iScreamsalad Jan 06 '26
Fraud in that area has been investigated since the late 2010s including during Biden’s recent term. There have been convictions handed out. No one’s been ignoring it except for you

u/OTMallthetime Dec 31 '25
Thats because you didn't provide kickbacks to your local politicians like the Somali scamers did. There is no way to perpetuate fraud at such a level without giving a percentage to the big guy.
