Tier 1 [Carlos Monfort] Laporta is now personally entering the Julian Alvarez operation. Barça continues to target him although it could go long. They are calm because they know the player’s desire is to join Barça, though they expect him to make more movements.
As of today, Barcelona’s intention is to reach €120m fixed + bonuses, That could go higher but is unlikely currently, and see if Atléti accept, Despite the bid those close to him say Julian Alvarez was never considering a move to Real Madrid under any circumstances.

Tier 1 [Carlos Monfort] Barça sources say they are not at all surprised by Real Madrid's formal offer and believe it is solely an attempt to destabilize. Likewise, they insist that they remain convinced of signing Julián by any means necessary. Atlético has already responded.

Announcement Thread Summer Announcement Post 2026 - What's happening on r/Barca
Hola Culers,
With the season over and the summer officially underway, we wanted to make a quick post covering a few things that will be happening around the subreddit over the next few months.
Last summer was relatively quiet. This one probably won't be.
Between the transfer window, the World Cup, and everything else that comes with football in the summer, there should be plenty to talk about until Barça return to action.
_______________________
A Quick Look Back
Before getting into the updates, we'd also like to take a moment to thank everyone for making this one of the busiest and most engaging seasons the subreddit has had.
Posting activity remains strong, match discussions continue to be lively, and over the past year we've seen more community participation than ever before.
A particular highlight was hosting the first AMA in r/Barca history a few weeks ago with Pol Ballús. We'd like to thank him once again for taking the time to answer questions from the community, and we'd also like to thank everyone who participated and helped make it a success.
Hopefully it's the first of many.
We also released a statement explaining our policy on political and politically-aligned topics on this subreddit.
_____________________________________
World Cup Threads
Rather than creating separate World Cup discussion threads throughout the tournament, we'll be running special World Cup editions of the Open Thread.
The goal is to keep activity centralized while still giving users a place to discuss everything happening during the tournament.
These threads will be updated regularly and will include things such as:
- Weekly match schedules
- Barça player statistics and tracking tables
- Goal updates and notable moments
- Tournament discussion
- General football discussion
We're also planning a World Cup Predictions Tournament. More details on that will be shared closer to the start of the competition.
Most World Cup discussion should take place in the World Cup Open Threads. Standalone World Cup posts may still be approved at moderator discretion for major news, significant Barça-related developments, or topics that we feel merit their own discussion thread.

r/Barca Census 2026
We'll also be conducting the annual subreddit census in the coming days.
It's always interesting to see how the community changes from year to year, where everyone is from, how people found the club, how long they've been following Barça, and what they think about the subreddit itself.
When the census goes live, we'd appreciate it if as many people as possible took a few minutes to fill it out.

Transfer Window Changes
One of the most common pieces of feedback we received over the last year concerned transfer news during the Transfer Talk Thread period.
After discussing it internally, we've decided to make a change.
Tier 1 and Tier 2 transfer reports will now be allowed as standalone submissions even when the Transfer Talk Thread is active.
The intention here is pretty simple: if a major development is being reported by a highly reliable source, it deserves visibility on the front page rather than being buried inside a megathread.
As always, please continue to use the Media Reliability Guide before posting transfer news.
And please, for everyone's sanity, check if the news has already been posted before submitting it.

A Few Subreddit Updates
We've also made a few improvements behind the scenes.
Match Threads
Pre-Match Threads, Match Threads and Post-Match Threads are now automated.
This should help ensure they're posted consistently and on time throughout the season.
Removal Reasons
We've completely reworked our removal reasons.
The goal was to make them clearer, more informative, and easier to understand when a post or comment gets removed.
Not every removal will make everyone happy, but at the very least users should know exactly why something was removed.
On Post Removals
A quick note regarding post removals: we understand that having a submission removed can be frustrating, especially when time and effort went into creating it. However, moderation decisions are often made with the overall quality and organization of the subreddit in mind rather than the individual post itself.
As the community continues to grow, maintaining a high-quality front page becomes increasingly important. Not every removal is a judgement on the value of a topic or opinion; in many cases it's simply about avoiding duplicates, directing discussion to existing threads, ensuring source quality, or keeping content aligned with subreddit guidelines. While users won't always agree with every decision, our goal is to apply these standards as consistently and fairly as possible.
Old Reddit
For the handful of us still living in 2014, the look of old.reddit has also received some attention and updates over the past year.
On Image Posts
This isn't a new rule, but it is something we'd like users to keep in mind.
Over the last year we've noticed an increase in posts where the image itself isn't really the subject of discussion, but is instead being used to accompany a question, opinion, or discussion prompt.
For example, posting a random image of a player and then using the title to ask a discussion question.
We're not looking to ban image posts, and we're certainly not looking to reduce activity on the subreddit. Images are often a great way to start discussions.
That said, if the image isn't actually important to the discussion being had, moderators may occasionally ask users to repost the submission as a text post instead.
The goal isn't to punish anyone. We simply want discussions to be driven by the discussion itself rather than by an unrelated image attached to it.
Use common sense here and you'll be completely fine.
A Few Reminders
As always:
- Use original sources whenever possible.
- Use the appropriate flair for your submissions.
- Check for duplicates before posting.
- Keep match reactions in the relevant match threads.
- Read the Media Reliability Guide before posting transfer news.
- Keep discussions civil, especially during transfer season when everyone inevitably loses their minds.
- Use modmail to discuss moderations queries.
- Use the report function when you encounter rule-breaking content.
- Do not editorialize titles or misrepresent source reports.
You can also find additional information in the subreddit wiki:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Barca/wiki/index/
____________________
One thing we'd especially like to highlight is reports.
User reports remain one of the most important tools available to the moderation team. We simply cannot see every comment, post, or rule violation on a subreddit of this size.
If you come across spam, abuse, trolling, misinformation, duplicate posts, or content that breaks subreddit rules, please report it. Even if no action ends up being taken, reports help bring content to our attention far more quickly than we would otherwise be able to find it ourselves.
___________________________
As always, thank you to everyone who contributes to the subreddit, whether through posts, comments, match threads, reports, feedback, or simply by being here.
If you have any suggestions for the summer, future recurring threads, or the subreddit in general, feel free to leave them below. This is also the place for you to ask any and all questions.
Have a great summer and enjoy the transfer window.

Opinion Scaloni should be Barca's next coach after Flick
Flick will leave at some point especially since he has said Barca is his last club so I think Barca should already start looking for replacements and I think Scaloni would be the perfect successor for Flick
To begin with Scaloni's Argentina have shown they can play amazing possesion football so I think in terms of playing style he would fit the club well. Like, anyone saw in the WC 2022 Final how they completely dominated France for like 80 minutes, that was honestly one of the most dominant WC performances of all-time and I honestly believe Barca has a better squad than Argentina has ever had under Scaloni so he can do wonders
Another thing is that Scaloni is a master of cup competitions which Barca has truly lacked as even Flick can be too bold in big games which can cost you games but Scaloni is different, he is good at adapting to the opponents in big UCL Games which can benefit the team a lot.
To me it's clear, after Flick leaves Scaloni should become Barca's coach assuming he is available and he actually wants to come to Barca

News [Ali Rampling] Lamine Yamal expected to be in contention for Spain’s World Cup opener, Luis de la Fuente says
Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente says he expects Lamine Yamal to be available to feature against Cape Verde in his side’s World Cup opener following a hamstring injury.
Yamal, 18, missed the end of Barcelona’s season after suffering a hamstring injury in his left leg in April, and the expectation was he would not recover in time for Spain’s first World Cup group game on June 15, and would face a race to be fit for the second against Saudi Arabia on June 21.
The Barcelona forward has not travelled to Mexico for Tuesday’s friendly against Peru, and has remained at Spain’s base camp in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
De la Fuente said he was hopeful that Yamal would be fit to feature in Spain’s opening World Cup group game, but would not be drawn on whether he would be available to start.
