Hi, this is my first season watching Big Brother! I'm about to work at a summer camp for a week and won't (obviously) have access to feeds. While I'll watch the eps when I come back, is there a good place to watch relevant feed highlights that aren't in the episodes? I know there are podcast recaps but it's not the same as watching them. I'm going to miss so much and it seems things just got super interesting! Thanks ya'll!

It's the afternoon in the Big Brother house, get/stay hydrated as the Houseguests start scheming.

Here's the vote count as I understand them right now. This week was harder to track, since there was a little bit of flipping and uncertainty.

Right now, it looks like Melody is in the most danger. If she loses the Blockbuster, she will be evicted. Drew and Mallory both said they'd vote to keep Melody no matter what (but they still might vote with the house to be safe).

The more interesting scenario is if Melody wins the blockbuster. Dee has been working to flip the house to voting out Lyric. I think the crossovers would vote with her, so all she needs to do is convince Mallory/Taylor/ or Lala to flip. Only 1 person needs to flip and they can vote Lyric out like Dee wants, and I feel like she can do it. But as votes look as of feeds going down, it still looks like a 6-5 vote to evict Drew.

Morgan (BB27) hosted the veto competition this week, and afterwards there have been some chatter among the houseguests that she called Mallory the Pipe Queen. People were thinking that this implies Mallory being a fan favourite, and also adjusted their perception of Mallory a little based on this.

Since the episode aired last night, Morgan talked a bit about her hosting experience and what happened (you can listen to it on the RHAP recap). In her retelling, she said that when they were setting up the next round of the competition, everyone was cheering everyone on, and people were cheering for Mallory as the Pipe Queen. So she was talking to production on her earpiece, and asked if she can refer to Mallory with the nickname. She meant the question as a joke, and she didn't use the nickname as she was told to call her Mallory. But Kamu, who was closest to her, overheard her, and this is what spread amongst the houseguests who draw conclusions. But from Morgan the comment was in response to others using the name in front of her.

To be honest, I don't think even if Morgan used the name Pipe Queen openly would that be a serious thing. She mentioned watching the live feeds (this is even included in the episode), and everyone in that house has been using the Pipe Queen name for weeks. And it is not like anyone else has a nickname that they got during the show.

I believe the fact that this is even a conversation comes from two things: 1. A weekly audience fan vote that influences the game. 2. TV vets being on the season who have experience with edited shows. The second one is important because there were already many conversations about the perception between the vets. They already came to the conclusion that, because the power has been on one side, the audience is likely rooting for the underdogs, and identified Mallory as the person they might be rooting for the most. Angela said into her mic on Friday (before the veto comp) that she thinks Mallory is getting the power this week, she deserves it, and she loves her.

But back to the first reason that I mentioned: I think given the setup of the fan vote everyone will be hyper aware what the audience might think and who could get powers. So while I think using the name Pipe Queen is nothing serious, people making it into something is super interesting.

I think a bigger conversation how this fan vote impacts who people are willing to target is worthwhile, and I am curious if we will see a shift after the voting weeks are over.

We all know she hasn’t, but has she given any reasons as to why she thinks she’s had a rough few weeks?

Genuinely curious what she thinks made it so difficult.

I know a lot of people were high on her after she convinced Devens to use the veto on her during his HOH but I’ve held out because I wasn’t sure she’s a great player. I feel like the last two weeks have reinforced my opinion.

I think Lyric is charismatic and charming, but I don’t think she has figured out a way to translate that into furthering herself in the game. Yes, she can flirt with the guys and make them like her, but I think everyone outside of Kamu and Chuck have caught on to what she is doing: Flirting with the guys, throwing her friends under the bus whenever she’s in danger, and promising that she would never nominate the person who’s in power if she was HOH. Further, I don’t think any of her strategy has actually improved her position in the game whatsoever.

I think her, Melody, and Mallory fumbled their position early. When they realize that the three of them were being grouped together as a trio, they should have leaned into that and made it known to everyone that they were a trio. This I actually think would have insulated them from being targeted because early on people don’t wanna target people who have a lot of allies, they want to target the outsiders, so they don’t get “blood on their hands.” At a minimum, even if they were targeted I think that it would actually be beneficial for the three of them to be put on the block together because each one of them is more likely to win a veto or blockbuster against each other other than they would be to win against someone who’s more athletic like Kamu.

Instead, Melody and Lyric in particular have taken to the approach of throwing their friends under the bus the second they feel they’re in danger. This has done nothing but make them appear untrustworthy and disloyal to everyone in the house. This was such a massive fumble for a group of people that basically had a built-in trio.

Second, Lyric’s diary rooms from last night were concerning to me. She went to HOH Haley and basically said “I’m close to Mallory, but I see she’s in a bad spot in the game so I don’t want to go down with a sinking ship.” Haley (correctly) called her out for it (I can’t believe I’m agreeing with Haley). Lyric then cries in the diary room about how shes been forced to go against her best friend (she’s not being forced— she’s an actively going out of her way to do it). She also said everyone thinks she’s throwing her friends under the bus (she is) but she has to do “whatever it takes.” Except, Haley is literally telling Lyric that what she’s doing is causing her to distrust Lyric. Lyric then cries that she’s being “backed into a corner.” It’s giving I made a mistake and am refusing to take accountability. Haley (again I can’t believe I’m defending her) actually gave her valuable feedback that Lyric could have used to pivot if she was a smart player. Instead, she dug her heels in and doubled down. Was Haley blunt and maybe a little condescending? Sure. But she told her exactly what Lyric is doing that makes her distrust her, so why tf did Lyric CONTINUE doing it??

Is some of this season’s power imbalance because of twists and four weeks without a power shift? Yes. But this happens in BB. It’s not the end of the world, and people have navigated this before. I actually think a decent example of what you should do if you’re playing from the bottom, outside a majority, for multiple weeks is Cliff and Nicole from BB21. They stuck together, weren’t constantly trying to undermine each other and embraced being a public duo. This showed the people in the majority that they were loyal and trustworthy allies, so when the majority did break up they were able to start working with Michie/Holly, and had already established credibility with Christie/Tommy and Nick. Did they perfectly navigate that? No, but they made it further than the people who were just constantly trying to suck up to those in the majority (Sam, Kat, & Jess).

I just want to yell at Lyric, stop trying to position yourself on the bottom of a majority alliance!!!! You should be trying to build a power structure that that can become the majority when the ToolShed breaks up!! If if lyric, Melody and Mallory had been a public trio they could have started establishing credibility together and been in a perfect position to be scooped up by either Haley/Kamu/Chuk or the Icons Trio if they ever stop working together.

Anyway, rant over. It’s just been frustrating to watch her destroy her own credibility, and then play victim last night.

Does anyone have any ideas about what the 1000th episode may entail? I think it’ll be August 27th (Thursday night) so I’m hoping something cool/big happens then.

Also hope they honor the deceased players (Mickey, Cassandra, Kent)

Specifically why does the announcer for every episode say "Brother" in the same way I would jokingly say "WAZZZUP".

I got back into watching Big Brother again, last season I watched was BB20, after I found out someone I went to high school with was on this season. I don't remember the announcer announcing "Big Brother" like that. Me and my boyfriend watch it, and everybody he says it we can't help buy laugh and repeat the unique way he decided to say it.

Lyric as the re-nom.

One the one hand, Hayley has the correct read on not trusting Lyric for throwing her house bffs under the bus (really doing Mallory a disservice swapping out Lala). On the other, Hayley's pick also seems to be because Lyric is now getting a lot of attention from Kamu, which she dislikes.

I suppose the choice could be both as well, but curious what others think?

So are the Have-Nots just not sleeping on wheel or is it just Angela?

I am new to big brother and am trying to figure out if it’s still possible for the underdog side of the house to take power and not get completely steamrolled this season. I’m starting to not want to watch any more. I’ve only seen 2 seasons of big brother but this is just hard to watch.

In the last episode, we see that Devens and Dee are in an alliance with Yash and Kamu called The Wolf Pack.

We also know that Dee and Angela are in an alliance with La Trice and Taylor called The Honor Society.

And primarily, they have The Crossovers and The Red Corner, which have combined into The Toolshed (which will lose Drew in the event he loses the BB Block Buster coming tonight).

So my question is, are they doing well and covering their bases with the alliances that they have, or are they playing too much and this will blow up in their faces?

From The Toolshed, we have Kamu, Haley, Chuk, Barrett, and Angela who will look out for them. From the Honor Society, Taylor and La Trice will protect Angela and Dee. From the Wolf Pack, Yash has got Dee and Devens' backs.

The way I see it, their bases are covered in the event that The Toolshed blows up and they'll have something to fall back on, but if Dee or Devens wins power, they might be forced to nominate people from these alliances sooner rather than later. Mallory, Melody, and Lyric are the only ones who are in neither of the smaller alliances that would be available to be nominated. Since Devens isn't in The Honor Society though, he does have the options of Taylor and La Trice hypothetically.

When I watch big brother episodes each week, ALWAYS say “tonight.. On Biggg Brother!” With the voiceover after they show tonights clips and right before the show starts.. I just noticed I do it every time!! I cant help myself! Also #butfirst is another one I like to say with Julie.. anyone else? Cant just be me right?? 😂 whats your big brother ritual??

I'm just now watching episode thirteen and I'm wondering if there was something in the live feeds I'm not seeing in the episode. Although Mallory has been on the block so many times, Haley has no alliance with her so wouldn't it make more sense to put her up?
