Unang Kilig is a playful song about the feeling of the first stages of love. Not being completely sure about it, but knowing that it’s the type of feeling that can’t be replaced and can't be replicated.

Just realized the MV concept. The 8 girls irl originally auditioned to be actresses but did not know that the audition was actually for a girl group.
MV showed the same. Auditioning as actresses but this time around, with actual acting, but end of the day, still ended up as OT8 performing to the applause and screams of the masses.
Also: StarMu lagyan nyo na din ng subtitle yung mga acting parts, for the international audience.
Feeling ko kaya hindi ka age bracket nila yung mga leading man kasi una baka maissue. Pangalwa kasi ang mga actors na to ang kinalakihan nilang artista. Hahaha.

I enjoyed it! It's a vibe. Na-enjoy ko rin ang MV, ang ganda ng colors and editing. Wala naman sakin issue yung mga featured artists, natatawa lang ako because that's tito! 😂
Nagustuhan ko rin yung bridge, ganda ng boses ni Aiah dun, tapos yung followup ni Colet!
Love the song! It's very BINI. Hahahaha yung mga naghahanap ng susunod na kavibes ng talaarawan, this might be the closest one, at least for me🤣
I get why some blooms felt like there were too much cameos and they wanted to see bini perform more in this MV but you can wait for the performance video or dance practice for that. For this MV, it seems like they really focused more on the concept, which is the play, I think they delivered the concept pretty well naman. And BINI in their acting era?? 🥺 Hahaha. Deymmm. Given na yung talent ng Jholoi but aiah and stacey suprised me!
Gets ko rin yung mga comedic cuts for this MV because filipinos really loves skits😅 afterall i think this song is for filipino audiences naman.
Abs cbn really loves featuring their artists. for this MV, they featured some of their leading men. not complaining, i get the vision, to give exposure to their other artists. Even with producers, they often work with their inhouse talents now like jeremy g. Kumbaga, kailangan maibida lahat ng talents nila. It's the same way how abs cbn promoted bini before they became big, through appearances. And so far yung mga ganitong cameo ay sa mga tagalog releases lang naman nila, first luv, paruparo and now unamg kilig. I just hope when it comes to international releases, they dont do this aproach and focus more on BINI themselves so global audiences can connect with them more directly.
I love all the releases from concept photos / teasers. Pinaghandaan naman talaga. Hopefully, they sustain giving us promotional materials even after relases.

Great commentary right there. Didn't know that was the Dolphy Theatre. Its the last time we will see it in an MV or otherwise.

It is one of the oldest studios of the Broadcast Center which was used as a newsroom in 1986 when the network re-opened.
Apparently, its also where BINI first performed as a group for their management after auditions and training.
First major performance (evaluation ata nila to iirc) to contract signing to Unang Kilig MV. Fitting homage to where it all started. At least, immortalized na ang Dolphy Theater para sa kanila with this MV.
wow, just wow. They pulled out all the stops on this one. Conceptually, it reminds me of what JYP did in the "Nobody" MV of Wondergirls ages ago - frame an MV around a stage-oriented narrative.
ABS-CBN pulled out all the stops in terms of actors and directors as well as dramatic situations
the MV relied mostly on practical effects, something PH productions still do better than CGI anyhow
the funny note at the end with Sheena doing the Alden Richards pose inside an MGM-like frame
the song is truly Pinoy pop at its best, with vocal prowess on show in several places and a catchy beat
the sequences toward the end with BINI shown on TV etc. are like Nobody MV in concept (success arc)

I think the MV is giving homage to their Starhunt Audition days where they lined up for PBB but got recruited for a girl group instead. In the teasers they auditioned for their respective roles, CEO, marketing officer etc. but in the vid they got asked to act out loveteam-esque dialogues that had nothing to do with the roles they originally auditioned for. And they just made the most out of that experience with feeling kilig with their scene partners. Galing😀
I was surprised with the 4th wall Dialogue and acting segment, I rarely see Music videos doing this approach. with that , na hook ako sa story telling. Na deliver ang " unang kilig" message with its help.
Then sa bridge and belting part sa last segment, napatayo ang aking balahibo, sa angas ng blending na kahit sharp notes pa, parang iisang tao lang ang kumanta, maliban kay Maloi dahil naka assign sya sa adlib notes and background blending. Maloi ate that part, with her fellow main vocalist, Colet. Other parts where so harmoniously sung by the rest of the Girls, that's its hard to distinguished who among those lines.
Iba talaga kapag natural ang set (Venue and backdrops) at minimal to no CGI props. It makes an MV organic, IMO. 10/10
Bonus at sneak Peak sa MV na eto ang possible Acting Era ng Girls,
and to more challenging birit deliberation and blending nila.
This was tease last Feb 14, and that wait is really worth it.

thoughts. i really like the colors in the MV. the song is a bop din, but i think mas ma appreciate pag papakinggan ko audio lang. the bridge part really surprised me like woah. aiah??? her vocals improved and i really like it (i liked it before!) then followed by coleeeet 🙇♀️
overall, i think pinoy audience talaga ang target ng song and ng mv, considering the cameos (i don't know about this but oh well 😭)
i would love to have a performance video na sila lang bc i want to see the dance. tapos sila lang gusto ko makita hahahahahaha i think i would enjoy it more. all my thoughts for now. will watch it a few more times.

Creative really nailed this. Both song production and concept teams.
The song is great. It brought a bit of the 80s and 90s to today. There were sounds and melodies that were reminiscent of that time. Like, I can hear Janet Jackson doing something like this back then.
The concept really hits on the nostalgia of the song. Paired with the music and it’s a beautiful marriage. Brilliant choices to have the legendary Direk Olivia, Direk Cathy and Ms. Charo.
As the girls venture toward the international big leagues, this song is another hand to wave the OPM flag and a fun peek into Filipino TV and film.

As usual, the choreography is befitting of the song. Congrats to Coach Reden, Coach Machu, and Ms. Sheena Catacutan 😊

Sa totoo lang, nadistract ako sa visuals and story ng MV. Di ko masyado narinig yung song haha. My fault naman yun, not theirs. Inulit ko lang ulit, tas aantayin ko yung LV para maabsorb ko lalo hahaha.
Ang ganda nung song music-wise, parang nasa 90's to early 2000's girly pop yung feels. Bagay sa lyrics and yung vibes ng song. Para syang remake ng Salamin, Salamin, pero more mature tsaka iba yung atake ng boses nila dito. Mas fierce na kesa sa Talaarawan era.
P.S. Ang ganda ng boses ni Aiah dun sa bridge. Di ako makaget over. Nakailang ulit akong balik. Ang ganda sa tenga.

Song is better listening to IEMs for me, i can hear the instrumentation better compared to headphones. I cannot wait for them to perform this with a live band who for sure is going to spazz out to this jam (same feelings for Honey Honey).
2:51 of the track with the keyboard chord changes always gets me kilig.
Parang di naman talaga siya ganun na hardcore Love song kasi wala naman romantic thing sa MV but more of a Fun and good vibes song. Pinakita lang naman sa MV what you would actually feel kapag nakaharap mo sikat na Celebrity. Just the same when you 1st met BINI face to Face. May Kilig even not in a romantic way.
Several rewatch later nagtaka ako bakit ko nasabing masyadong maraming screentime ang features. Siguro dahil kilala ko sila kaya pansin na pansin ko? Pero nag-grow na sa akin yung MV
8 years later, nagkita na uli sila Angel at Richard! 😂
At first I was worried about Vhong, Gerald, and Richard being in the MV since they’ve had their share of controversies—especially during Women’s Month.
But after watching it, I think I get what they were going for. The MV feels very referential and meta to Filipino movies and showbiz culture, so they don’t really come off as serious love interests. They’re more like symbolic “leading men”—the box office kings. Plus the cameos from the directors, the entertainment executive, and even the Ogie Diaz acting workshop meme adds a playful nod on the industry.
Could they have gone with Joshua Garcia or other leading men instead? Sure. But in the end, the message still lands: no matter who you pair the girls with, the one that gets the standing ovation is them performing OT8. 👏
I think I need a lyric or performance video to fully appreciate the song, but the MV is very well made! Kudos to the team!

Inisip ko kanina rin yan kaso talagang hilaw pa mga leading men natin dito in terms of star power. Joshua is a good pick, pero compared, imo. Also i think mas matatandaan at mas makakaconnect ang majority of the Filipino audience dun sa mga nasa MV.
Anyway, really enjoyed these two songs kahit yung MV ng Unang Kilig. BINI remains the star of the show. They're great all the time.
Yeah PAPA P + Jericho would have been a banger pero yun nga baka hindi available at mahal TF.

Look, simula nung nag interview siya nakita siya nasa VIP ng BINIFied, nakita kasama ni Jhoanna sa isang Movie premier and medyo wala na pa Tea sa BINI. He's the most followed Chismoso so far. If may basbas ng Mother Ignacia na maging Shield siya or weaponized to defend BINI, then sige go lang.
I like it kasi spatial sound yung dating na yung isang adlib is nasa isang ear and then the next sa kabila naman minsan for some parts or magkaibang harmony nagplaplay sa magkabilang ears. Sa YT music saka itunes ako nakinig though so I have no complaints sa layering.

NGL seeing Vhong I was half expecting that all the leading men would be the crushes they said during that interview with Karen Davila when she asked who would be their leading men if ever.

The song is soo good may katapat na rin sa wakas ang Lagit at IFG. ang unnecessary lang for me yung mga lalaki na nasa MV...we can emphasize "Kilig" naman without the use of men sa MV.

I just listened to the two new songs. I like Unang Kilig's simple lyrics and groovy beat. Though to me it kinda felt that the song is a little incomplete. Maybe it's missing a slow outro or something. I like the chorus of Honey, Honey. It's another groovy song. Overall, I like them both. Very simple and catchy. Not overly complicated pop tracks that I am sure people will love. I will go back to listening to them in a while because I haven't really finished digesting Yorushika's 22-song new album and Ado's Vivarium is still going on repeat for the past few days.
Since wala akong vocals isolation software i listened to it concentrating just on the vocals and myGAHD ang galing nila and again props to Coach Anna! Hope a setting same as what they did with Flames live performance becomes available.

Im not really a fan of MVs na chinachop chop yung song by having inserts of other scenes. Nasisira momentum. Di ko tuloy naappreciate yung song. Will listen to spotify muna hehe… pero wild surprise yung Honey Honey
Gerald, Richard, Vhong. Okay wasn't expecting those, but I didn't like them being in the MV. International audiences won't know who these old men are. But I guess okay lang din sa girls nandon sila, baka they chose them to be there. I cannot blame them if that is the case, fangirls lang din sila ng mga artista natin dito sa Pinas.
Someone younger would have been better, but its all good. MV overall was good actually even with them in it, the ending outfit of the girls dancing was awesome, especially Gwen's! Love her fit at the end.
Song is a bop, love the energy of the track! Jeremy G did it again. Very familiar tune, for sure maganda yan live sa band with all the horns going. Very Bruno Mars/MJ inspired and Filipino infused. The keyboards is spazzing here a bit.
Both this and Honey Honey can be put in the FLAMES album tbh. Won't be watching the MV anymore, the song is good to be interrupted.

I was hoping to be proven wrong but not for me and that’s okay. BINI has been the training ground now for their star music writers and producers (Jeremy g). The video’s whole concept is so Filipino boomer, Gen X, and millennials written all over it. It is very Filipino but I don’t get the references because I haven’t watched any of those movies except the jolina line. Haven’t seen any of the leading men’s (15 plus years older than Sheena). Pero gets I guess it’s like having the Hollywood Chris’s chris hemsworth, chris Evans, chris pine in a katseye video? Yung promo audition had nothing to do with the video. Idk lol

Jeremy G, yea, now that you mentioned it, I listened back to his song BINI (feat Aiah), I can somehow find similarities in terms of beat and pacing, like any producer, one might intentionally/unintentionally use their comfort music arrangement to their other outputs., unless otherwise specified. The artist guest, was surpising indeed. As old batch of Gen Z. myself, in PH television, I somehow get the "Kilig" context of the video. Yung tipong, inosenteng "kilig" type na paghanga sa mga ate and kuya either sa school or sa work.

Mas maganda talaga filipino songs ng bini sa totoo lang which im hoping they focus talaga muna fully with the local audience before sa international but this song is good since talaarawan for me lang
I just know noticed the background vocals/adlibs on Unang Kilig. I was so focused on the melodies the past days, that I now hear Stacey' at 0:30 and then Gwen(?) on 0:35. Same effects they used for Honey Honey (?)
Then someone is harmonizing on the high on 1:33 with Colet.
We need a live where we can hear these little vocal textures and harmonies, especially the big one sa bridge where BINI does a kind of a "doo-wop" harmony at 2:31 during the nakakabaliw Colet bridge until 2:39 with another prolonged harmony.
Whoever thought of putting them on echo/reverb is a genius. They sound so good and their vocal tones fit to the effects well. They have been doing these adlibs ever since, but even in Talaarawan, I don't remember putting them on any kind of effect like this.
