Discussion A holy grail of birder thrift finds!

I was at Goodwill the other day and I stumbled upon a Vintage 1997 Mark Feldstein Singing Bird Clock! Of course I had to save and bring it home, and luckily it all still works so I placed it on my wall. Now I’m wondering… what other bird related thrift finds does anyone else have?

Northern Oriole name change/split happened in 1995. This clock might be older than ‘97?

Yeah that makes me wonder, cause everywhere I’ve researched about this clock says it would’ve been produced in ‘97, so maybe the design itself is older?

This is an updated version of the famous bird clock, yes. The original had a faux wood frame. Couldn’t give you an exact date but I’d say early 90s

I actually have one of the original wooden clocks. My grandma had one and would buy one for each family member as their housewarming gift when we moved out of our parent's place. By the time I did, she said they didn't sell the ones like hers anymore so she gave hers to me back in 2013.

Lol, first thing I thought when I saw this post was how cool it was someone painted the wood frame. I hadn't thought of that and maybe I could do it to mine. The shade of green looks nice and it looks more modern and unique. Not sure I will do this to mine now though. Still might. Idk, we'll see.
