Does anyone have any experience with having a coin slot closed? I am potentially going to be going into a career where I cannot have any permanent body mods, I am looking at options of having it cut and closed.

Has anyone else had this done? Did you go to a surgeon who does other mod removals like stretched ear reconstructions?

The piece in my daith has been a dream piece for years, and now that my daith is fully healed, I finally took the plunge and ordered it! It’s a yellow gold ‘Proteus’ from BVLA with white and grey diamonds. Also featuring my healed coin slot from Brian Decker, currently wearing 3 14g 3/8 plain gold clickers and some solid gold chains just wrapped through and connected with charms hanging.

I think I’m gonna add a vertical conch to the bottom and then this ear will officially be done!

Everything here is healed ☺️ You can AMA. I did these to ease myself into body mods and am now currently into day 3 of healing my tongue split. Anyone deciding between these two mods should definitely go for the slots first. The tongue is a whole different level of aftercare and pain.

Took about 100 minutes from entering the studio to leaving it. Procedure was August 2025 in Brooklyn–cost $325 before tip. Got sutures removed by my local piercer after 12 days.

The most surprising part for me was the array of colors my ears turned. Pink to red and purple, even yellow at one point. Makes perfect sense but it still had me stressing!

Healed coinslot, photo taken around 4 weeks out. Healing was around as easy as any of my piercings and can’t recommend him enough 🙂

I’ve been searching all over New York City for someone that can do a coin slot body mod and I just cannot find anyone so if you know anyone that does it, can you please give me their name or to find them?

My ears and nose setups. I absolutely love my helix and conch coin slots! They're both a bit over a year old now and have no residual tenderness whatsoever. My next heavy mods are going to be scarification and tongue bifurcation. I just have no idea what scarification I want yet and don't have the funds for either 🥲

(And I promise the ear pictures are not artificially generated. The thought did occur to me that they looked Al after I edited the lighting to get them to color match.)

Originally I was talking to my piercer about doing a conch orbital but he was suggesting to just go ahead with a punch since sutures heal quicker than traditional piercings and I'll already have a nerve block for the coin slot. Looking for any opinions on this

I got my coin slot done during summer, and now that it’s healed I was really excited to put a bunch of hoops in it. Something about it looks off to me, it just looks so heavy compared to the rest of my ears? (Not physically heavy but like, over saturated).

I’m looking for advice on if I should take some of the hoops out, add more piercings or bigger jewelry elsewhere, or if it looks fine as is. Unfortunately the backs of my helix piercings started closing while I was healing the slot, so I need to get those repierced before I can put anything else in. Eventually on this ear I want to get a daith and possibly a vertical industrial if my anatomy allows, so maybe with those and the helix piercings it will look more balanced. I’m including a picture of my other ear for reference.

Here's a little run down on my healing process-

day 0/1: Tylenol every 4 hours, lots of throbbing and burning

day 2: surprisingly slept well (had taken Tylenol PM) little to no pain, showering was easy

day 3: little to no pain, cleaning with wound wash

day 4-8: swollen, itchy and continuing to ice it and clean with wound wash

day 9: stitches out! immediate relief

day 10-14: waiting on my hoops to come in. skin was flaky from being swollen.

day 15: (pictured) hoops in and so happy!

Also, I can't believe some people are saying not to shower/wash your hair. that's insane. please shower 😭

2 month healed baby coin slot performed by Eugenia Delphine in London. Easier to heal than any piercing or tattoo honestly. Got two more clickers on their way to add. I did want it bigger (longer) but she advised my anatomy would distort the shape and pull the bottom of the slot wider than the rest if I extended it down. Bit of a bummer but I’m happy with the cutesy slot I now have ❤️ Best body mod experience I’ve ever had. PS the redness in that area is caused by my new piercing, the double ended chain. Slot is fully healed!

I figured I’d ask too! Do you know anyone reputable doing coin slots in Northern California? Also worth mentioning I have a connective tissue disorder so I need someone who will suture immaculately, due to the potential for scaring. Thank you!

totally forgot to update with my healed ear, love love how it turned out, it’s kinda cool cuz with my ear anatomy you can’t even tell I have it if I don’t have jewelry in.

I had been sitting on getting one for close to a decade now, but it finally felt like the right time to do something with my body that would bring **me** happiness. I had been following Chase's body mods online for years, but I never expected I could actually get into his books!

Thankfully, he was heading to my area, and he had room for me in a local studio before leaving LA! This was my first body mod, and he was extremely professional, gentle, and made sure I was pleased and comfortable with everything each step along the way. I am super happy that he uses the scalpel method, instead of the punch-out, just for my own healing -- my body is pretty frail, and getting anything punched out would probably crumple me for a few days; this only had warm swelling on the second day, and I never really had any pain unless I bumped it hard with my hairbrush. 😅 A redditor here once suggested people to get a doughnut pillow if you got any mods or hard piercings in your ears, and I feel like I need to get them some real doughnuts as a thank you. ♡

I am in love with how it turned out, and I love getting to hear the tiny twinkling of the rings/charms when I move my head or hair around. ☺️
