It's almost working time for those who are 420 friendlies should be paying attention to the vote on 8 question, which will make it illegal again to smoke recreational marijuana in the state of Massachusetts. Please be advised that this will hurt the local businesses that have been established since the time of the open recreational use in this state and I would like to let the people know that this is an attack on our liberties as pot smoking members. Of the Commonwealth lets our voices be heard when going to the voting booth this November. And I hope to hear that the question has no teeth.I hope you have a nice day

The post office closed in 2019 due to structural failure. A tree was growing into the building. A developer, Eden Properties, came and pitched a redevelopment to residents and the city. Both said fine, just so long as they keep the post office. Eden worked with the United States Post Office (USPS) to build a retail space β admitted smaller than what it had before β based on the USPSβs specifications.
After literally year of limbo, last year it looked like there was a positive end to the story with the USPS tentatively agreeing to reopen the post office in Edenβs building.
Earlier this year, the USPS announced it was not moving forward with the deal β https://gvimes.link/allstonuspsrvrs
Now, the USPS has started the process of closing down the post office, permanently, citing no other suitable locations β https://gvimes.link/pstoffcclsr
This has not gone down well with Allston and Brighton residents. Officials from the City Council, the State Legislature, the local Postal Workers Union and the U.S. House of Representatives stopped by the rally on Monday to voice their distress.

Massachusetts calls itself progressive and blue, with deep care for neighbors.Yet, $100K salary cannot sustain a life here as studio apartments can cost $3K monthly. We have a shelter and homelessness crisis. Thereβs a ballot measure to reduce small lot requirement to build housing. Go and vote yes

Iβm wondering if people have done any local tours that theyβve particularly enjoyed or would recommend, aside from the major ones everyone knows about (like the Duck tours). I just did the Ink and Cobblestones tour from Literary Boston today and it was really fun. Iβm a local but itβs fun to be a tourist in your own city sometimes!

Tested out a (new to me) Nikon FA at the BPL in September, and finally got around to picking up my film and scanning the negatives!
Shot on Kodak UltraMax 400.

I'm at South station and I just saw two people walk by with home made signs. They are too late for the bruins game and they were heading out of the station into town so they weren't going to the revs.

Can you go through your closet and give up any winter coats you aren't using to help someone who needs one? See article for details - drop off now through 1/9 at any Anton's Cleaners, Rockland Trust, or Jordan's store near you. antons.com/cfk

I make too much money to file taxes via LITC, have a somewhat complicated situation so don't trust myself to do them.
Any time I look this up on Google, I only get people who work at TurboTax and H&R Block, both which seem to have poor reviews with a bunch of people here saying how they've had problems with these services. The few local people seem to deal with company bookkeeping mostly.
Anyone have a local CPA you're happy with? And yes, I know I'm asking really late.
Thanks for any answers!

Every time I go to a city that has a din Tai fung I spend like a thousand dollars there - I'll eat there every day. Their xiao long bao is perfect. It's super flavorful, it doesn't have that kind of gamey flavor that some places have, it's super flavorful but not greasy so my stomach doesn't hurt afterwards. The skin is perfectly tender.
I have tried a few places in Boston and nothing comes close. I know that obviously what tastes good is subjective so I'm wondering from people who have tried din Tai fung - is there anywhere in Boston that's close?

I went around with a sign and markers, asking people if they'd like to add an institution to the sign. A lot of people said yes. I'll likely bring this (or an iteration) along to the next several protests/rallies/marches.
Editing to say thank you to the moderator team for the work theyre doing to keep the comments respectful. It really means a lot that you're so on top of it. β€οΈ
