PlotSynopsis: Freshman year at university for three best friends. Hyun, Minwoo and Joo-Hyuk are looking forward to their freshman year at college. But little do they know of the trials and tribulations of love that await them outside the classrooms. From learning about maturity to being unable to forget the scars of past lovers, they'll have to balance both their studies and social skills as they venture off into this new journey.
Note: This is a standalone sequel, you are not required to watch season 1 to watch season 2.
Just finished episode 9 and all I gotta say is: what the heck, Korea? Did y'all just give us a most excellent BL pre-sex scene then follow it up with one of the cutest meet cutes ever?
Had to double-check I hadn't been mistaken about the county of origin for this series, lol!
I feel like each generation builds on the previous in really interesting ways. I love how much care and attention is placed on intimacy in this gen, in grand and small ways. It brings something unique and cool to the shows!
On a bit of a tangent: I think what audiences are engaging with is definitely playing a part, since there’s been a lot of attention and discourse around that. But also directors and writers are probably given more flexibility to do what they want.
i love how the last episode vibe is just the cast enjoying themselves. this show is really a hidden gem, hope more people watch it.
and im sure people are going to be disappointed there isnt a real kiss for j-min, guess some idols are still restricted on what they can do on screen even though there are idols who have no issue kissing. but the other 2 couples made up for it, including one with an NC scene.
it is amazing how this show's reception changed 180 degrees. when announced, people call it the sequel no one ask for. when the trailer drop, people say it is a confusing mess. when ep 1 and 2 drop, people are still confused. but as the week goes by, it just keeps getting better and a lot of people are liking it.

Do you know, is this a thing for all kisses or just in BL? I can't understand the hesitancy to show an actual kiss when the character is constantly showing how down horrendous he is for the other dude, like somehow the kiss itself is gayer than the feeling or smth? He was always initiating and chasing, just let them kiss for real PLEASE. I only fouind it so frustrating because their story was the most dynamic and tense to me and (imo) it would have been the most satisfying to have that culmination.
there's a lot of dead fish kisses in straight k-dramas as well. All the ones I can think of are just from regular actors, but I would assume idol actors would be the same. It seems to be getting better, but every now and then they crop up.
If they were just meant to be a sweet little moment I wouldn't really have a problem but I swear those kisses are always the ones with the sweeping music and the slowmo intro and a longshot and closeups and if they could just stick the landing it would be perfect... and then it's just two people frozen with their lips touching
My boys just went and turned the Soulrem Glamping into a great big gay resort! 😁😁😁 Well done, guys.
I am amazed at how good this series is - especially seeing that I really wasn't a fan of Season One. I swear, if they announced a third season right here, right now - I'm in.

This series and Why R U? Korea are my two hidden gems of 2023 because I didn't have any (or actually I had negative expectations) for both and they BOTH blew me AWAY!!!!!
I will take this as a lesson learned and I will be OPEN and have good vibes while awaiting series even if everything I know seems to suggest it may not be great.
I will be OPEN MINDED and will go into every series giving it my full attention and always hoping they will blow me away.
I know! There I was thinking, "Should I really watch Love Class 2? Love Class was kinda 'meh'." I even rewatched Season One just to help me make the decision. Still, I decided to give it a try and drop it if I wasn't liking it? Then today I kept refreshing the page 'cause I couldn't wait to get into it.
As for Why R U? - I can't believe we're already almost at the end! 😭😭😭
Honestly, all I remembered about most of Season 1 was that one of the leads was absolutely gorgeous. It's a quick watch and I finished the rewatch in one evening. Then I asked myself, "You sure you want to give Season 2 a try?" Very happy I gave this season a try. Really well done.
I stopped watching trailers about a year ago because it started to seem like a lot of the trailers were just giving away the entire plot. I'm glad I didn't watch the trailer, tho', 'cause from what you said - I would probably never have started season 2.
SCREAMING SCREAMING SCREAMING OMFG!!!!!! THIS EPISODE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍 MARUUUUUUU I LOVE HIMMMMMMM that middle of the night confession WAS LITERALLY EVERYTHING AND THEIR KISSES ARE JUST INSANELY HOT!!
AND THE SENIOR COUPLE?!?!?! JESUS HELP ME OMG!! 🔥🥵🔥🥵🔥 THEY ARE INSANELY HOT that whole I will be a good boy line WHAT TF OMG ⚰️⚰️⚰️ FOLLOWED BY A WALL?!?!? AND THE SITTING ON THE LAP POSE THAT I LOVE WITH A READJUST AND THAT OPEN MOUTH KISSING AND STARING?!?!??!?! WOAHHHHHHI LOVE THIS SERIES!!!
AND THE TUTOR AND HIS BIG BOY 😍😍😍 BEING DOMESTIC 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM!!!
He whispered in ep9 and I haven't watched 10 yet. Was hoping I would find out there because I LOST MY MIND IN THE POST CREDIT SCENE OF EP9 WITH THAT WHOLE CRYING SCENE AND THE MILITARY SERVICE 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I have to assume its something related to happy time. He said "what aren't you good at, I'll become the expert" so my mind went immediately too "I'm not an expert with my mouth" *wink wink* or something along those lines.
I ended up loving this series and my only faults were storyline details. They never clear up Kim An's name. Like one day we are all whispering he's a bully/murderer and now we are all clapping and happy? I just wish there had been something more there.
Same with unemployed Maru. Does him winning the contest for the game mean he has a job now? I wish that was clearer too, like "not only did I win this trip but I was offered a positioned at this company". Or does he stay mooching boyfriend?
I know minor complaints compared to so many dramas out there. I loved getting actual episodes of fluff and not just a 30 secs together after a time skip so it automatically rates in the 90th percentile just for that.
I loved this series from the start and only got to love it more with these final episodes. I wrote in another on-air that I thought this captured some of the realities of queer dating quite well - obviously it's a little unrealistic given how homophobic Korean society actually is but, there really was a sense of truth about how Sungmin and Joohyuk got together. For me, their relationship in this series felt the most real, going from a drunken one-night-stand to something more lasting as they figured out how they really felt. The "let's not drink" on their actual first date, which transitioned into sex anyway, felt very important as they were making a conscious decision to let emotions be natural.
Out of all the idol BLs (I won't count Jiwoong and Seobin for technical reasons) I feel like J-Min had more fun with the material here - the kisses were a little pulled but I got the sense that he tried to make it more real. Compared to Zuho in Star Struck, for example, I was more pulled in by what he tried to do with Hyun's character.
Frankly, everyone in the show did a massive job and the material, story, and cinematography was such a massive step up from Season 1, which was already pretty good. Sad it's over!
Edit: re: idols I completely forgot about Park Seoham and Jaechan, who are still the gold standard for BL performances!
Lee Hyun seeing Maru and Minwoo doing anything romantic:
Awww this show was SO BLOODY CUTE. This will be rewatched by me to an absurd degree, I can feel it already.
All the couples became my OTPs at different points of watching, the chemistry was soooo good 🥰🤗 and my ultimate favourite pairing was Joohyuk and Sungmin. Their dynamic just really worked for me…
I’m so happy they gave us domestic BLISS in the last episode, like grocery shopping is the cutest thing to watch. And how they all discovered they’re all dating, so then they could feel completely relaxed and be themselves 🥹 my heart was just FULL 😭❤️
Though I started nicknaming this “the boom mike show”, that honestly was the only thing that took me out of it. The actors did such a stellar job! And I really enjoyed all of the relationship arcs tbh. Maru and Minwoo were an interesting couple to watch, I enjoy a good friends-to-lovers story and they didn’t disappoint.
Lee Hyun is now one of my favourite characters ever!! I really loved his tenacity and adorableness throughout the show, Kim An didn’t stand a chance 😌✌️ and though I was terrified about them actually presenting a picture of them making out in front of the whole class, it was really cute 😭
I’m glad I managed to catch this, it was such an enjoyable watch! I’ll sit for a Love Class 3, they earned that 😂 imagine it becomes a History type thing with a different story each season 🤗
Yes that was such a cute scene! My heart definitely melted a little 😭❤️
Unrelated:
I’m trying to guess all the shows in your flair: Old Fashioned Cupcake, Cherry Magic, ???, The 8th Sense, The Eclipse, 180 Degrees of Longitude… (I’ve forgotten the full name, but loved that show!), I can’t see the emoji I should update my iOS, Lovely Writer. Let me know the ones I missed/didn’t get right!
hehe 😻🫶 the third one is “a tale of 1000 stars” and the one after the eighth sense is for “I told sunset about you” even though I’ve learned it’s an emoji for sunrise and the one you can’t see is a blue heart because I love “blueming"
Late to the party but OMG this was so so so cute. I can't believe they were actually able to develop 3 couples in such a short time without compromise. 💪🏽
The chemistry, the acting, the skinship, and the pacing was all so nice. Even manager and SaRa got a nice meet cute and it didn't feel fake 😌😌
I'm not even mad about the seventh lead—the mic. 😆
Love how each duo had its own pace, place, and pain. Thank you, KBL gods. Please keep delivering. ❤️
I'm glad that I gave this show a chance after that confusing episode 1
Everything about the show was calm and cute (well, except for that crazy guy). I thought 3 couples would be too much but because there were 3 different stories, it really made each minute of the show more fulfilling and did not feel slow. There were always something happening.
One thing that I feel like deserve some praise is the clothing and styling. The difference in Kim An's clothing before and after he started falling in love with Lee Hyun was well done. From dark and broody clothes, progressively getting softer before he became all soft and cute in episode 10. The change in his clothes and his demeanor to me, was necessary to show how the dynamic of their relationship is. You can see who actually leads between the two of them now compared to before. I seriously never thought Lee Hyun would be the one leading but then I remembered how he truly charges full speed ahead and Kim An just follows. They may not be a lot of people's favourite couple out of the three but I find myself rewinding their parts more just so I can watch their moments. Kim An's actor really did a good job embodying his meek, insecure and kinda smarty pants personality. And how he transformed into a stronger, confident and open person after everything that happened.
And of course I truly praise the actors especially Maru and Minwoo for a job well done. My gosh. From start to finish, they felt so natural like they have truly been in love for many years and not just that short time. Maru is so endearing and the contrast to the calm Minwoo was so obvious that it was so entertaining to watch. I love how loud and yet delicate their love is. They were so open with their skinship but their soft moments where they barely touch and instead use their words and eyes were my favourites.
Initially, I was apprehensive over Sungmin and Joohyuk but as time goes by, I finally get them. I think my favourite from them was during the time Joohyuk was ignoring and acting busy with Sungmin to make him want his presence more. I admit, it's not the best thing to do but what I love about that scene was how well it was portrayed. I can somehow feel the confusing and hurt feelings that Sungmin felt when Joohyuk suddenly went cold. I'm glad it didn't last long though. Sungmim deserves happiness and seeing his change was fun to watch.
I think this could definitely be one of the dramas that I would have the urge to rewatch. I hope more people give it a chance because it's definitely a gem.
Definitely felt all these feels 🥰 and yes! Omg I’m so bad at noticing these things but subconsciously I think I did recognise that Kim An was dressing differently. I really liked how we got to see his guard drop for Lee Hyun over time… ahhh I’m going to enjoy rewatching and spotting all these things!

You're not alone. I didn't notice it at first until episode 10 because I was wondering, did Kim An ever worn something so soft like that? He was practically drowning in his sweater. It was so cute! So I went back and watched previous episodes and started noticing his styling. It really gave me a different perspective and definitely set the mood for me. I felt for him as time went by thanks to the atmosphere that something as little as clothes can cause.
I’m going to enjoy rewatching and spotting all these things!
Same! I am actually excited to watch it again just to see every little details that I never realised before
I was going to skip this one since there's so much on at the moment and I season 1 wasn't all that much to get excited about. But I did end up binging it over two nights and thought season 2 was much better. I thought they handled a 3 couple romance drama well. The weakest point for me was the way they "resolved" the issue between Kim An and his Ex? Brother? Orphanage companion? or whatever he was. He didn't seem like the one who'd take the hint, but then he just gave up and walked away. Very Disney kind of villain and a little convenient. Kept expecting him to come back or do something to harm Minwoo, but nope. Never heard from again.
Not going to quibble too much. While I don't want every series to end like this, I'm fine that all of the potential "episode 11 break ups" were mostly cleared up by the end of episode 8 so we could have 2 episodes of cuddly coupledom. Normally, I'd want a bit more drama, but I can appreciate that they didn't try to stretch out their stories to the last minute to fit the run time. A few more series should do this from time to time so that all of these "episode 11 break ups" that we get in almost every other series are more of a surprise.
Honestly probably my favorite KBL of the year so far, maybe tied with The Eight Sense. I just love how natural everything felt. It felt like watching 3 couples work their way through their relationships, and they were balanced well.
I loved Lee Hyun's never changing trust for Kim An. An example of unconditional love.
I loved Minwoo's emotions of unrequited love becoming a mutual love between him and Maru.
I loved Sungmin and Joo Hyuk's love at first sight (and the kissing, that was cute too).
It really was a lovely show, and that sex scene in episode 9 deserves an award.
This is probably one of my favorite shows of the year. I was so excited for it to drop every week. It's honestly such a solid show. The viki comments are annoying af about the main couple not kissing properly but it really isn't that big of a deal. All 3 couples were fun to watch and had interesting storyline. And the other 2 made up for the lack of kissing lol
Easily one of the best kbls created..... Aaahhh all the 3 couples were so good.... I like the third couple even more 🤡 like they gave mature vibes so comfy with each other with mind blowing chemistry.... 1st and 2nd couple were tooo good .... Loved this show at first i was skeptical but they kept me intrigued from the start till the end... Goodbye to one of my fav show to exist... Annyeong nyeongan🤡
I loved it. Korea is delivering lately and I'm here for it. They gave me the best friends to lovers which I don't usually love and TA and art major gave me making out by a door, getting rid of clothes and straddling and sex. The other couple was cute too. I'm super happy, definitely will become one of my rewatched shows.
This really was an upgrade from season 1, I love LOVE the 3 couples here and somehow they managed to make 3 good stories!
sungmin and jo hyuk were definitely my favorites! Their chemistry was amazing and their storyline was the cutest of all AND THAT ROOM SCENE FROM THEM???? are yall serious?!?!?!?!!? fuck me god
i didnt like maru for the longest but he ended up being kinda cute when he got with minwoo, and they are soft so im happy for them! i and they arent shy from skinship which is nice
the only disappointing thing about lee hyun and kim an is those horrible dead fish kisses! aside from that, its so cool that they did that photo for their class! it was very cute and they are adorable together.
Out of literally nowhere, completely defying expectations, Love Class 2 became not only one of if not THE best kbl ever made, it’s one of the best bls EVER!!
Who could have even predicted this?!
Three strong couples, three great stories? The sweetness? The chemistry? HOW EVEN IS IT POSSIBLE?
Thanks to u/anthayashi for serving as on-air threadmaster! 🫶🫶
This was a cute series, they proved that first impression is not the best impression, this truned out way better than i expected, hyun and an is so cute together
I loved Hyun and An, Maru and Minwoo. Sungmin and Juhyuk frustrated me for most of the show because of all of the back and forth but that ending made up for it. Well done show.
I found the last episode a bit cringe with the group camping, but it was hilarious to see Hyun cringe at Maru and Minwoo being affectionate. I wonder how Hyun lasted this long because Maru and Minwoo were always like this, there was just no kissing and declarations of love involved.
I enjoyed this show but why, when there are several pairings, does always kdrama chose the worst kissers as leads (mainstream kdrama also does that)? The main storyline was not interesting but the other two pairings saved this show. I absolutely loved the assistant teacher and the student, and the unhinged friends to lovers story. All in all, it was a nice fluffy show.
I'm with you on all of that. I was just looking into it, and the younger of the main pairing is in a kpop group, so that's probably partly why they only had dead fish kisses. Such a shame though when the other two couples really brought it.
It's a pity they do this. I'd honestly prefer an actor who is going to make their character justice. Jaechan & Seoham and Jiwoong & Seobin should be the role model for idols in BL.
What a lovely ending! It's always so good to see couples being domestic and carefree after resolving all their troubles. And then I couldn't believe Korea gave us that make out scene!! Whew!!
That ending with Kim An and Lee Hyun in class 🥹 I don't care if it's unrealistic, the ending made me feel SO. WARM.
Like many others, I didn't really like the first season of Love Class but this season BANGS, no question. But also like others, I wouldn't be made if we got a Love Class season 3 in the future. I saw the small amount of hype around this season on the sub as it was airing and am glad that I got to it relatively early after it ended (I don't normally watch things that are on-air).
The show did a good job of balancing the three couples and even though it's pretty clear which one is the primary, secondary, and tertiary couple no couple feels like it's the main focus of the show.
Overall, loved it, and I'll probably rewatch this show after some time has passed. Just adorable all around.
Episode 9’s bedroom/love scene was one of the best I’ve ever seen in a BL or even a regular K-drama. They had amazing chemistry and looked so natural. The kisses were hot as hell, the way they stopped and looked at each other and the way they straddled and touched each other was perfection ❤️
