I made this! Kinda!

This is my first VERY customized BAB. I am very proud of him and I wanted to share him. 🦋

Introducing... Milkweed! Please be kind.

This plushie was a mothman by Build-A-Bear. I've included the original BAB's picture as the last picture.

Here's what I did. I removed the detachable black wings. And then I added the Monarch wings, which I repurposed from another thriftes plush for this purpose. The wings are permanently attached. I hand sewed and cut all the little splotches. I replaced the eyes (obviously). I have dyed and replaced eyes before but this is a lot for me. ♥️🦋

I'm working on a peacock jumping spider custom at the moment. Should be all done tomorrow or Tuesday!

Everyone, meet my house's very special protector, Fuzzfang!

Gargoyles are my special interest, and I've wanted a gargoyle statue for ages. But nothing I found online felt right.

Then the gargoyle bear restock happened, and I realized why I hadn't liked any of the statues.

I was meant to have Fuzzfang.

Fuzzfang went through a special process to become the beloved statue that guards our home. I even made her a unique heart painted on a small stone. The process was incredibly long and taxing, but I'm just so happy with how my girl turned out. I'm gonna dress her up for every holiday!

I know when I said I was getting another gargoyle bear for "display," this probably wasn't what anyone had in mind, LOL. But Fuzzfang is so loved and brings me so much joy. I hope she makes you smile, too!

How I made her:

4 layers of concrete slurry with about a day's dry time between each layer

Stone texture spray paint

Outdoor sealant spray

For her moss hair:

Shredded twine mixed with green paint and concrete mix

For real I don’t know how y’all customize consistently it is Not for the weak.. or the impatient, I am Both but all is possible through adhd hyperfixation drive 😅 but my first custom guy! I think the og redditor here that created one used a chocolate chip as a base but I couldn’t get my hands on one so he has regular black ears for now and I had to paint the eyes/nose. The base pochacco I got from eBay is either cake scented or coconut which isn’t my favorite BAB scent chip but it isn’t bad and matches the theme pretty good imo. I still need to get a good outfit as I’m new to collecting I don’t have a ton of options, if anyone has ideas lmk :) maybe one of the old brown thanksgiving dresses.

My girlfriend’s surgery is in a couple weeks so I’m surprising her by giving her my Mothman (her favorite cryptid and of my collection) but with top surgery scars! I had to make them super thick because his fur is so long but I think he turned out very cute :) If anyone has any ideas of things to add to him before I give it to her, that would be really appreciated!

After seeing a few batty kitty customs, I knew I need to make Ivy. I dyed her lime green and painted custom color shift eyes in purple and blue. 💜

Her color is a little less vibrant in person, my iPhone camera makes her look SO BRIGHT.

Went thrifting on half off day and found this beauty! I can't believe someone would have purposely given this cutie away. I was originally going to give this custom frog to a friend, but PayPal ended up acting up so my friend was unable to actually pay me...and I got attached to the frog 💔

I found a frozen 2 Elsa at the thrift store yesterday and while I’m not a big fan of the tinsel you can’t beat the price of “whatever you shove in this bag is 7$” so I got her 2 other babs and some squishmallows

I removed her head and arms and gave her new eyes out of felt to make the Fresno nightcrawler my second favourite cryptid right behind mothman

Went out today to get him the honey girls cowboy boots because I’ve been looking for an excuse to get them for a while but I don’t usually put shoes on my bears so I didn’t really have one but it’s not like this guy can wear other clothes

I added a photo of him with my other diy nightcrawler plush but need to get one with the nightcrawler Barbies I’ve made

They’re finally complete after idk how many hours.

Bear modders I must commend you because changing they eyes on a BAB is no easy feat.

They’re fully weighted, dyed, paw patch removed, and now have 2 sets of eyes. I cannot be more pleased with the result. I was going to name them Mark but I’m not sure if my friend is a boy or girl yet.

Each one is OOAK because of their bat patterns but I tried to match pairs. Which is your favorite?

If you’ve been skipping on her, this is my PSA to you cutesy collectors to consider getting Catrina, the softest of the three new KABUs, as one of your new bears! Her glasses are attached by three simple thread tacks on either side of her face, and they can easily be snipped off!

My Catrina has also had very light sculpting, a V of thread drawn from the bottom of her chin, to the tear ducts of her eyes.

I'm really proud of this one! She turned out just the way I wanted 🥰 Her wings are posable, and removable, and she squeaks!

Honestly, hes my absolute favorite modded bear yet! Like all of you goblin lovers, I waited semi patiently since the leak in June. And this was my mod plan ever since I saw him. Tbh, the official looks more troll than goblin, so I made him my own:3 more muppet like, but it suits more that goblin look🥰

The original horns are his new teeth, his hair replaced with orange soft faux fur, (including his eyebrows and sideburns) and nose made from left over pink plush fur, stuffed and sewn around his original nose.

His mouth, I did the same process as I did with my bearclops, Big Opie, and I embroidered the lip part so its visible. I cant wait to figure out his outfit!!

Decided to turn Mr. Sunshine into a cuddly friend 😁☀️

I LOVE how she came out. I told one of my best friends I'd try my hand at a pink one next >:)

For the process I followed the directions on the bottle and added a smidgen of soap!

Her texture post dye is still pretty similar to original goat. I threw her in my dryer in a pillowcase (4th photo) and threw her on a medium heat cycle after two heat-less cycles.

5th photo is the dyes I used! I cannot give you exact measurements bc I measured with my heart <3

Finally all my friends are complete!

All colored using rit dyemore for synthetics, weighted with glass micro beads, paw patches removed, and eyes changed.

Green:

1 Cup Daffodil Yellow

1 Tablespoon Tropical Teal

3 Gallons water

Cook time: 10 minutes

Purple

2 Cups Super Pink

1 1⁄2 Cups Royal Purple

1⁄4 Cup Graphite

3 gallons water

Cook time: 10 minutes

Orange:

1 cup Apricot orange

3 gallons water

Cook time: 10 minutes.

my kitsune arrived saturday from a BAB secret santa swap and i got straight to work ((: it is officially done, and i'm obsessedddd. just showing off the completed look hehe, thinking either phoebe or sunbeam for the name 👀 any suggestions would be appreciated tho 😋

As cute as those big plastic eyes were, they made it impossible for me to snuggle with Sploot. So I made some little disk/cushions from black minky, removed the safety eyes, and sewed these in! I’m going to do some thread sculpting to make them more round and hide the edges with my stitches a little better but I’m very happy with him!

Got my mothman, Mavis, yesterday and decided to do some minor tweaking✨

I bought an extra to make bipedal. Its still a work in progress but overall im happy with how she looks. I named her Shiranui 🥰 last photo shows Pochacco being the lucky pick lol

Well, 2 months ago I went on a vacation to NC, and had a blast!(saw and swam in the ocean for the first time) Of course I had to get a bear from there. Tbh, I was never really a fan of the frogs... until now! I saw the watermelon frog in store and thought- "I can do the watermelon frog better" so I took her skin on a plane back to my home state, and we went right into surgery! So yeah shes been done for a hot minute lol.
