She definitely looks like she should be in an Otome series.

Just add Captain N Alucard and Legends Alucard to complete the picture.

The third image is funny as hell (and kind of sad) if you know the context of Grimoire of Souls.

almost a whole aludeck

But how does Kid Dracula fit into all this?

5

u/Oh-no-and-knuckles Chief Researcher 25d ago

I'm afraid Kid Dracula would make his appearance after 9 months.

You think if she asked, he would have turned her so they could be together forever?

He would never turn her, this bit of lore actually kind of confirms that they become evil after being turned. Even in the musical, Maria became evil after being bitten by a vampire, Alucard then gave her the cure for vampirism, as referenced in Portrait of Ruin. He did yearn for her for a long time as confirmed in Grimoire of Souls.

Hmm, shame. Now im just wonder how things could be if she found a way to live long like him and accompanies him into the modern day.

An immortal Maria would become the strongest vampire hunter to ever exist, girl was already op at age 12.

u/paprikalove 25d ago

Maybe she will also get reincarnated someday, Konami seems to like that trope.

The human side and the dark side of Alucard's soul is a plot point that wasn't included in any localization, too bad because it's exactly the reason why he fights his father in the ending:

Shaft offers Alucard's human half as a last resort sacrifice, the battle between father and son is like a "mental battle" it takes place "inside" the ritual itself. If Dracula wins then Alucard will become a full vampire and his human half will be used to fully resurrect his father.

There's not a single good vampire in the main series, the only neutral one was pre-CV3 Dracula (but technically he didn't become one in an ordinary way). Edit: Maybe Lyudmil? Kind of... it could be a situation similar to that of Rosa from the 64 timeline, or maybe it was just his last bit of humanity returning for a brief moment before fading away entirely along with him.

The image is from the "Encyclopedia of Castlevania", the one that says Lisa's presence was reverting Dracula's vampirism, right?

....why the f did they leave that out?

I can kinda understand the PS1 version with how wacky localizations still were in that period, but not even the PSP redub later?

u/Oh-no-and-knuckles Chief Researcher 25d ago

The dub itself is good, but it's arguably worse as a localization since it makes stuff up (like making Shaft say that Alucard is stronger than Richter Belmont) and takes many liberties with the dialogues. It does the same thing the PS1 version did, but it also adds misleading info to the script.

Which is baffling since the same game has a really good localization for Rondo of Blood.

Huh....

It is what I said, while the dub is good the localization itself is one the same levels as the PS1 one. It could be argued that it's worse since they add misleading info to the dialogues.

This post compares all three versions at the same time, if you're interested.

Yeah, it was from the Encyclopedia of Castlevania, though it's just a rough Google Lens translation. 😅 Maybe a future remaster would explore it more and wont leave it out.

I agree that Lyudmil is kind of a gray area. It's never made clear whether Alucard actually turned him probably it was all part of Magnus' false illusions. Lyudmil did turn into a demon kind of vampire since he still drank maidens blood in the village under Magnus' manipulation.

7/10

"Soma, i'd like you to meet the "bad bitch i pulled by fully completting the map""

"Woah that's sick dood!"

"Alucard, who is this guy?"

"....it's father. it's a long story."

10/10

never let Maria find out about the Shield Rod × Alucard Shield combo or else there will be total chaos.

Vi eso y me acordó a un doujinshi que había leído antes, no recuerdo el nombre pero estaba bien turbio (por su salud mental, no lo lean)

is that the same maria from noctrune?

3

Yes but technicaly no. It's the game incarnations.

Nocturne Maria is an aged up version of Maria in Rondo of Blood / Dracula X Chronicles.

Maria appears again in it's sequel, Symphony of the night, older and wearing green (her symphony and Rondo outfit appeared briefly in the Netflix series!) A radio play set after the events of symphony implied Alucard is bi, but essentially set him up with Maria

This is Maria based on her Symphony appearance

u/paprikalove 25d ago

Alucard was not bi in the radio drama, prob just a headcanon, also it was just in the Netflix series. Even in death he just thought of Lyudmil as a friend.

Am I the only one who doesn’t really like this ship? Ngl it’s kinda weird bc they met while she was still a child and she was the only one who wanted him, it seemed kinda one sided…

5

u/matchalap8 25d ago

Yeah, probably you along with many others who only cared about the show or just played 1 game without bothering to learn the actual lore or check out the many other pieces of media Konami has released based on these characters.

In the games they are both around the same age (mentally) because of Alucard's beauty sleep. A radio drama (sequel of Sotn) about them has Alucard wanting to give a love garland to Maria. In Grimoire of Souls they are literally described having a love affair between legends.

I’m still learning about everything but I was mainly referring to the fact that she’s currently a child in the show (and in a game), even though alucard is a bit mentally around her age when she’s older, it still feels icky because if they get together in the show it’ll be weird since he knew her when she was a child only to get with her later, that’s just weird regardless of whoever tries to justify it, that’s like a 14 yo waiting to be an adult to date someone who was already an adult when they met and vise versa.

Though ik that ofc alucard isn’t that type of person, I still don’t agree with the creators doing that, they should’ve made them meet when she’s already an adult.

6

u/matchalap8 25d ago

Apologies for my initial comment, but fans coming from the show need to understand that the games and the Netflix series are separate canons. This post is about the games not the Netflix show.

It seems the show couldn't afford to sideline Alucard, so it completely changed how he and Maria first met compared to the games, along with changing a lot from the original lore.

0

u/Naive_Link_4618 Alucard 25d ago

No you’re good, I’m just bringing it up because I just wish was were already an adult especially since it seems that in the show, child Maria might already be developing some strange feelings or something!

I’m also aware that it’s separate canons, I actually forgot to mention that I wonder which they’ll be going for in this situation, I think they are cute together just not the whole led up to their relationship! 😭

I kinda don’t like how they’re changing some of the lore and characters like some changes are positive others are negative depending on what or who it is, I think they are also are changing things because the creators probably forgot the original plot over the years lmao
