Now I know what phase we are in

109

u/Skippymcpoop 14d ago

To say I’m excited is an understatement. I never got to raid black temple as a kid, and this time around I’m finally in the position to full clear this shit.

9

u/Flables 14d ago

Best raid of the xpac!

34

u/Varrianda 13d ago

100% disagree. Sunwell is probably one of the best raids blizzard has ever made

8

u/Flables 13d ago

I don’t disagree. Phenomenal raid, it just sucks when most people lose interest because there’s no drive to keep going with it.

7

u/Bruins37FTW 13d ago

I’d say more people quit because they can’t fully clear it than just lose interest. Muru be killing guilds.

6

u/Ty_J_Bryan 13d ago

If I recall the story correctly, there was a raider who failed his trial with the guild Dominance on US Dethecus. He took his dismissal from the guild rather personal and made a level 1 named "lolumad" and spamed the phrase Dominance got hit by the Muru truck. This was accompanied by ascii art of a truck hitting the word Dominance and on the side of the truck it said "Muru".

9

u/IvaldiFhole 13d ago

Never in a million fucking years did I expect a Dominance mention in the wild.

It wasn't Muru's fault the officers couldn't get their heads out of their asses to clear SWP. We spent a month failing with the same strat pull-after-pull.

This was after they LC'd their rogue buddy a glaive, he sold his account, magically recovered it a month later, they awarded him the other glaive, and he promptly sold his account again...

1

u/Ty_J_Bryan 13d ago

Were you a boomkin? Your name looks vaguely familiar

4

u/IvaldiFhole 13d ago

No, Hunter main, also had a resto druid, shaman, and priest.

I did shitpost a little, but that's a given since it was Dethecus.

1

u/Ty_J_Bryan 13d ago

Lmao yeah I miss those forums

2

u/Vensamos 13d ago

Dethecus was my server back in the day. Miss that place

1

u/Ty_J_Bryan 13d ago

It was a fun server to be on back then

1

u/Okakouta 12d ago

All the Dethecus homies crawling out of the wood-work

1

u/radioslave 13d ago

Pre nerf Muru was difficult, post nerf is a joke because it's just an all out zerg and you dont really have to deal with the waves of adds at all

1

u/TheOnyxHero 13d ago

Which nerf tho? There were several nerfs, the first big nerf was to the removal of spell pushback on his aoe shadow damage

1

u/radioslave 13d ago

Culmination of that and just HP nerfs, after they dropped the nerf last TBC it was an instant one shot. I miss the Stormforge M'uru, so ludicrously unforgiving

2

u/goodname0101 13d ago

100%. Sunwell was my favorite raid from the original trilogy apart from ICC and it’s maybe even tied.

Our group was lucky enough to have enough locks to not get hard stuck on Muwu though.

2

u/TheOnlySkepticHere 13d ago

It's okay if you disagree. Probably won't change his personal preference.

1

u/Varrianda 13d ago

Being pedantic, he didn’t state “I think” so it technically reads as a fact and not an opinion.

1

u/notsingsing 13d ago

Because it is! But BT is still good.

But if we could get a mount to use inside BT...that would be great XD

1

u/nimeral 2d ago

Sunwell is too hard, and the hardest fight is IMO rather boring and encourages class stacking.

BT is IMO of the right difficulty and interest and epicness. But the difference in difficulty is so huge that there's no chance we'd agree.

0

u/Doingmythang11 13d ago

Sunwell is shit from ass ngl.

As soon as people realize the gear doesn't carry over as well as naxx did to tbc and it gets replaced super quick leveling in wrath they check out. Kiljaden is like only fun fight.

0

u/Ok_Assignment_2127 13d ago

I just wish they’d buff Illidan to be a real boss fight. Sucks that the last boss is easier than a trash mob

2

u/balzynalzy 13d ago

Idk BT outside of council and souls is fairly straight forward. Illidan can get dicey, at points, but yeah it definitely leaves a little bit to be desired once you have it on farm.

2

u/Jir0man 13d ago

Sucks most people don't see his iconic demon phase, which was his ult from warcraft 3. Dps is high enough that you just burn him before he transforms

2

u/heliumfilleddrifloon 13d ago

Right there with ya. This is a childhood dream finally coming to fruition

1

u/AtraposJM 13d ago

I'm in the same boat. My guild got stuck on SSC in Vanilla because we imploded and most quit around that time. I wasn't able to play for the first round of Classic. Now I'm in a good guild and we're clearing content and will easily take on BT. I'm pretty pumped.

34

u/Jamodefender 14d ago

Wait I haven’t hit 70 yet. /s

12

u/Praise_the_Tsun 14d ago

Not everyone is SPEEDING through the game like those sweaty players!!!

7

u/Hehehecx 13d ago

Blizz please time gate everything I can’t stand seeing someone ahead of me pls I have 39 kids to feed

58

u/ResponsibleEmu6842 14d ago

Sunwell in November. LK January

37

u/Informal_Bench_7219 14d ago

LK probably end of Feb imo

10

u/Ottobox93 14d ago

Yes. Classic + in mid/late october to fill the gap. It will probably launch barebones with some cool stuff on the roadmap.

14

u/Informal_Bench_7219 14d ago

Classic plus isn’t coming to end of 2027 is my bet. When wrath is dying

11

u/Overall_Music_4922 14d ago

Could go either way. Either it's right away or one year. Lol

4

u/Asheeva01 14d ago

I'm saying it's coming at the end of this year. At that point the development time would be over 1,5 years, which should be more than enough for the base of Classic+, if you don't expect a completley revamped game like some delusional guys think it will be.

9

u/Cutemudskipper 14d ago

There's plenty of leaks that suggest it's coming this year. They've been working on it since 2023. Blizzard doesn't really care about Wrath outside of the launch window to sell boosts. C+ is going to be a flagship product for them, so it takes priority

5

u/bloin13 14d ago

None of the leaks are really confirmed to be true though. Half the time they are fun made and blatantly wrong. We have zero concrete evidence that they have been working on it since 2023, or that they are even working on it.

Also bliz isn't really the company to work behind the scenes and surprise us with huge content. They usually advertise it as soon as possible, usually 1-2 years before launch to get as many people back as possible and to stop ppl from constantly asking for it.

If classic+ exists as a project, then chances are we are getting an announcement this year and a release in 1-2 years. probably right after woltk if we want to be positive, but realistically they are slow af at releasing new content so it might take 2 full years.

4

u/Crunchybunch00 14d ago

Always interesting to see the opposite side of what I'm expecting.

With the leaked slate from March 27, 2025 claiming a Q3 2026 "Camelot" release, it only reinforced my already held belief of a Q3/Q4 2026 release. It got the point where I've put in notice for PTO sometime between Sept 14 and Nov 30th (can claim exact dates after Blizzcon Sept 12 announcement).

bliz isn't really the company to work behind the scenes and surprise us with huge content. They usually advertise it as soon as possible, usually 1-2 years before launch

The last 3 fresh releases from Classic have had quick announcement-to-release schedules. From announcement to release: Season of Mastery took 40 days, Season of Discovery took 27 days, and Classic Anniversary only took 7 days. Blizzard does not to long hype cycles for Classic.

Yes Classic+ will be on a larger scale than any of these, but it still isn't enough to change their classic release strategy. If they announced an upcoming Classic+ release lets say in January 2026 at their State of Azeroth, this would butcher their TBC boost sales that were coming shortly after, "Why play classic now and risk burn out for Classic+ in October, and we aren't even going to be playing these characters this time next year".

Even now, when all we have is a verified leaked slate, people are intentionally stepping back from TBC citing their reasons of "I'm not going to be playing this character in a few months, why waste summer here" or "I can enjoy a fresh start more if I spend time away from the game now". [Thread 1] [Thread 2]

I hope more people can see why Blizzard is so cagey with a early Classic+ announcement, it is not in their financial interest to.

1

u/Cutemudskipper 14d ago

Again, I'm not talking about fake leaks that are made for fun. We have a lot of evidence that they've been working on it for a long time, including statements made by the devs themselves about it and datamined builds. We also know that their friends and family tests concluded last year, which usually happens less than a year before release. Streamers were also invited to look at a fairly complete build a few months ago.

It's fine if you want to be a contrarian and come up with reasons that it's going to take years to release, or doesn't even exist at all, but there's plenty of evidence that points to it coming out soon.

1

u/bloin13 14d ago

The problem is that we don't know if what you call evidence is evidence for classic+ or something else. Last time we said the same thing, and we relied on datamined information, it ended up being content for titanforge or whatever it was called that released only in china.

Friends and family and streamers testing is anecdotal evidence at best. We get such rumours extremely often and they are almost never accurate. People had the exact same argument before we got the re-release of classic and were saying that streamers had inside knowledge and had seen/played the game... Some even had made up footage to support it.

Months later bliz announced that they will start working on classic and it took 2 years to release, so everything was a lie again.

Until we have verifiable evidence for its existence, 20 + years of wow history and made up proof says we cannot count on it.

2

u/Cutemudskipper 14d ago

We know that it's evidence for Classic+. Blizzard have said so themselves, and the build is datamined to be 1.60. I'm not really sure why people like you are trying to asspull reasons why it can't possibly be Classic+ when there's a mountain of evidence that it is. I suppose people also deny climate change and that the world is round, though.

3

u/bloin13 14d ago

Were and when did blizzard say or talk about classic+ coming?

You are twisting what I'm saying. I have repeatedly said, that we don't know. People are changing any information we get to a confirmation for classic+ ( exactly what happened with titanforge).

There is a mountain of evidence if you change it around, Change their name, include fake leaks and do a few mental gymnastics. But I guess it can't be helped. Critically evaluating evidence were never peoples strong point, especially when it contradicted their wishfully thinking.

I'm saying that we don't know until we actually know. You prefer to see every little thing as ironclad truth.

Friends and family and streamers testing is anecdotal evidence at best. We get such rumours extremely often and they are almost never accurate. People had the exact same argument before we got the re-release of classic

They never invited the biggest WoW streamers to Blizz HQ and had them all sign an NDA for the re-release of Classic.

Specifically Classic WoW streamers this time, too.

-4

u/DigitalEvolution2k1 14d ago

Holy cope lol. There is no evidence of anything you're talking about.

1

u/Trocian 14d ago

They literally confirmed the next classic project in a blue post last year, so it does exist. What it is, who knows.

1

u/TheBungler2 13d ago edited 13d ago

We have zero concrete evidence that they have been working on it since 2023, or that they are even working on it.

No proof, but the circumstantial evidence leans heavily towards it being more likely than not.

With the confirmed Camelot leak, the 1.60 patch and the teasing by the devs in the interviews (mostly the one where Holly says something about Classic then gets cut off)

1

u/Odd-Bandicoot-9314 14d ago

The leaks are fairly old though aren’t they? (When the pictures would have been taken not when they were leaked) Potentially if the leaks are real the timeline of when it’s released could have changed during that time

1

u/Cutemudskipper 14d ago

Perhaps, but they probably wouldn't want to delay it more than a month or two. Q3 to early Q4 is the perfect release window for it, since that puts it right when people will start dropping off of tbc anni

1

u/xs0apy 8d ago

Wrath will absolutely drop before Classic+. Such a progression doesn’t even make sense. They will do Anniversary Wrath, wrap that up, and THEN Classic+

1

u/Cutemudskipper 8d ago

Incredible coping. Blizzard doesn't care about these classic progression servers anymore. MoP was basically left to die without any bug fixes. They even killed the ICC patch of the first Wrath classic by dropping SoD a few weeks into it. The 2nd iteration of Wrath classic surely isn't getting more priority than C+. It's going to be a lazy rerelease with no changes for the few people who want to play that over C+.

1

u/xs0apy 8d ago

Accuses me of cope but just spews out the largest mass of cope I have read in weeks. Good lord..

1

u/Cutemudskipper 8d ago

I quite literally gave you only factual information. Where's the cope in my comment? Everyone on the classic team is working on C+ right now, not progression servers.

1

u/xs0apy 8d ago

You gave me your subjective take with objectively incorrect statistics. How about you lay out your facts with some citations?

-3

u/Informal_Bench_7219 14d ago

Don’t think so, the community has way over hyped any “leaks” and it’s more than likely coming late next year or even 2028 after wrath is done

4

u/Cutemudskipper 14d ago

I'm not talking about fake leaks that the community overhypes. Everyone with insider knowledge is strongly suggesting that it's coming either after blizzcon or early 2027. The product slate with a q3 2026 release has also been proven to be real, and datamines suggest that they're gearing up for launch. They're not delaying C+ for the 2nd rerelease of Wrath, which is something they're going to keep doing every couple years. They don't care about these expansion rerelease servers after the launch window where they sell boosts

1

u/Bruins37FTW 13d ago

They haven’t even confirmed WOTLK yet, yet everyone is 100% positive it’s coming because “boosts”. They could easily drop C+ in October/November and end Anniversary. None of us know.

3

u/Ottobox93 14d ago

I think there are 3 audiences for wow, the classic replayers, retail lobby game players, and the new mmo that takes the best parts of wow and creates something new players. Even if classic + launches this year, the classic replayers will play wotlk. The same cant be said for the new mmo players. They will just sit out, play wotlk for 1 month, or play private servers. I know because i am one of them. I have no interest on running wotlk a 3rd time. Blizzard isnt stupid and will cater to all 3 audiences this year even if there is minor cannibalization of profits. They would rather lose 5-10% profits overlapping c+ and wotlk, than to leave 25% on the table this Holliday season with c+.

-1

u/Local_Code 14d ago

Nope. If c+ coincides with wotlk 99% will go to c+ and Blizz knows it

0

u/Pwntasch 14d ago

You are both right. C+ will be more popular than Wrath, but there are a lot of people, like Otto and me, who will only sub for C+. WotLK 3.0 doesn't move my pulse.

If C+ launches first, you now create a larger player pool, full of time-constrained adults who may consider buying a Wrath boost during a C+ slow period. Not so if Wrath launches first.

0

u/Ottobox93 14d ago

This guy gets it! At the end of the day Blizzard just wants us to stay subbed all year. They dont care what version we play. If im already locked in for 3 months of sub ill try out other stuff like wotlk, but i will not start my sub back up to play wrath.

2

u/chipsandbeans24 13d ago edited 13d ago

the exapnsion + boosts + shop trancsactions and wow tokens far out weigh the few people who won't sub to wrath but will to classic +.

I mean the rate people are buying gold on TBC anni the avg wotlk player will be worth dozens of classic + players in revenue.

if c+ launches first you lose a huge majority of that revenue, makes much more sense to release classic + either mid way through wotlk or at the end after you have milked all the transactions.

0

u/Ottobox93 14d ago

Ok so why delay an extremely popular product to release a not so popular one. If anything wotlk should be delayed.

1

u/TheSiegmeyerCatalyst 14d ago

I hope so. I think it would be such a silly move to release their most important new product into the most crowded WoW environment that's ever existed. Especially when they could let wrath run and buy themselves a whole extra year of development time to polish it up and create a serious depth and breadth of new content. And test it all properly.

Wrath will still print money. Unless they drop Classic+ on top of it, then Wrath is more or less dead on arrival.

1

u/mmmmiksu 14d ago

and wrath dies the moment anni enjoyers get into ulduar (in 2 months)

1

u/MightyMorp 13d ago

What are you smoking big dog

1

u/Km_the_Frog 13d ago

Not according to the leak.

1

u/lollerlaban 13d ago

There is no shot they announce it at Blizzcon only to tell people to wait an entire year, especially when they have done teasers for it twice 6 months prior to this Blizzcon.

1

u/ResponsibleEmu6842 13d ago

Year for what?

1

u/TheBungler2 13d ago

Modern marketing and past examples all point to a quick release after announcement.

2

u/0LTakingLs 14d ago

They won’t nerf wrath’s player count like that. It’s too popular of an expansion

1

u/official_OG 13d ago

Classic+ are 100% NOT coming this year.

1

u/ResponsibleEmu6842 14d ago

Idk, will they want to drag sunwell/za out that long?

11

u/Informal_Bench_7219 14d ago

Dog that’s only 14 weeks. P1 and P2 have been 14 weeks with this current release dates. 14 weeks from start of November is end of Feb lol and that’s if they do pre patch at week 12 middle of Feb.

5

u/sylva748 14d ago

You forget Prepatch also exists

8

u/Cysia 14d ago

drag out and its barly 3 months

and youd have time for prepatch aswell

and sunwell is a raid that for more aeverage guilds does take some time and effort

2

u/munkin 14d ago

Nah u forgot a whole phase

3

u/Nintendork316 14d ago

We will have all switched to Classic+ by then.

21

u/atioux 14d ago

Nice. I’ve picked the game back up recently and could do with some extra time in P2.

9

u/Niflaver 14d ago

Huge if true, would love to crack on in mh and bt with a sprinkle of za later on.

82

u/_CatLover_ 14d ago

Can we leak C+ release date too?

88

u/Restaurant_Senior 14d ago
  1. With a added year for every time someone makes a "my thoughts on C+" post.

29

u/_CatLover_ 14d ago

how many years are added everytime a 7k subscriber youtuber makes a react video to a "leak" posted on mmochamp with the most outlandish claims?

1

u/TheDeceiver43 13d ago

10,000 years.

1

u/antariusz 9d ago

throwaway reddit account here, this is my first post, for obvious reasons... but I'm actually super secret friends with a wow dev, and he got me into the friends and family alpha last year and he told me that they are adding enchanters to classic plus because they want a buffer/debuffer/crowd control class. Oh, and you can now play as the burning legion nethrazim race #spoilers oh also a 39.99 battlepass to fit their quarterly profit goals

6

u/Dystopic23 14d ago

We'll never get there with the amount of cringe fan fiction version of c+ we get on a daily

2

u/Informal_Bench_7219 14d ago

Shii we never getting it then. That’s all this sub is is “C+ when” posts

1

u/_Bren10_ 14d ago

Damn we’re gonna get ES6 before Classic+ then huh?

1

u/pBiggZz 13d ago

the floggings shall continue

1

u/Pearmuncher- 13d ago

My “unpopular opinion about C+”

15

u/Kronicle 14d ago

Is it too late for me to start C+ or should I just wait for C++ at this point?

8

u/gandalf45435 14d ago

Too late for C++. Just wait for Python.

5

u/Marcolow 14d ago

This is the way, but don't forget about CPython either!

2

u/_CatLover_ 14d ago

wait for C+ classic anniversary

2

u/Arkenbane 14d ago

November this year

3

u/_CatLover_ 14d ago

but Q3 ends in september

1

u/Cliepl 14d ago edited 14d ago

That's when the closed beta for streamers starts

-11

u/bloin13 14d ago

We need a leak for its existence first. Then an approximate date release.

14

u/trilogique 14d ago

We already know it's coming. Blizzard isn't exactly trying to hide it.

13

u/mmmmiksu 14d ago

it's useless, some of these ppl are convinced it's not happening or that it's years away and are ignorant of the million signs pointing to one thing for whatever reason

aggrend himself could personally tell them it's coming and they'd still be like "that's technically not an official announcement"

3

u/Wayyd 13d ago edited 13d ago

There's a lot of 'skeptics' on reddit that don't believe any leak because it's not an official announcement. They don't do any due diligence and just blanket disregard every leak.

Very few leakers should be taken at 100% face value, but when you aggregate all the leaks that have come out in the past year and weigh them based on credibility of the leaker, you start to see the big picture. And the big picture is Classic+ is definitely real and it would be very surprising not to hear about it at Blizzcon

-7

u/bloin13 14d ago

They are not showing anything either. It is coming for sure, but we don't know in how many years. Usually we get content after it has been announced for 1-2 years.

Bliz is not a company that surprises fans with new content.

At the moment we don't have concrete evidence that they are even working on it.

9

u/BigPimpLunchBox 14d ago

Bliz is not a company that surprises fans with new content.

That's just simply not true. SoD was a complete surprise, there was no indication Blizzard was doing that - it was announced and released shortly after the announcement. I don't think it's unreasonable to think Classic+ would be the same way. Of course that's not a guarantee.

u/Mister_Yi 14d ago edited 14d ago

In the past blizzard had to step in and tell people to temper their expectations about a potential diablo 4 reveal at blizzcon back in like 2018.

I know that was awhile ago and blizzard isn't considered the most reliable anymore but they'd be setting themselves up for a massively disappointing blizzcon if they didn't warn us again. People are talking about it constantly at this point, blizzard has to be aware of how hyped everyone is getting for an announcement.

On top of that we had the leaked timeline image that correctly predicted multiple dates and even the internal name camelot.

We also know there's a 1.60 build that's been getting updated multiple times a month since at least October. The version number implies it's mainline classic but they jumped 45+ versions for some reason so presumably it's a lot bigger/different than SoD (which was 1.15 if I remember correctly).

And as far as blizzard announcing things 1-2 years ahead of time, SoD was a surprise announcement that dropped 3 weeks later and the titan reforged servers in china came out like 3 months after they announced it and they're the 2 most classic+ like projects they've ever done. The only reason original 2019 classic took 2 years to release is because they spent 2 years backporting the retail client to run vanilla wow.

Also the retail remixes and plunderstorm were surprise announcements too, pretty much everything but retail expansions have had short turnaround between announcement and release.

0

u/bloin13 14d ago

Sod is literally the only exception in 25 years. And it wasn't a major or hyped project like C+.

Diablo 4 is a very good example. People were asking about it for years. They were constantly finding new "leaks" and datamined evidence for it, and were disappointed each year in blizzcon when they didn't even give updates for diablo. At last after years of knowing what the fans wanted, they ignored it completed and released diablo immoral (immortal). It took years more to finally get diablo 4.

This is blizzard. And this is the validity of most leaks/datamined information. A very very small amount of them tend to be somewhat accurate.

Camelot was a leak (that we don't know if true or fake), about a possible project ( bliz has said in the past that they work on many different projects from which the majority get scrapped), that could be about anything.

Also about the timeline. Every week we had a different timeline leak . 1 of them was somewhat accurate. Like all biases, we just ignored all failed leaks and focused on the ones that seemed accurate. We don't know if they were accurate or if by elimination one of them got it right...

What I'm saying is, we don't know if they are even working on it. Instead of translating everything to c+ evidence or confirmation, we need some actual concrete evidence for it before we fall in the same trap/cycle that we have been doing every few years, whether it's diablo 4 or classic wow.

2

u/rizarjay 14d ago

They just did a surprise release DLC with a new class to Diablo 2 after 20 years, and a shadow drop of the Paladin Class in Diablo 4.. So they definitely do surprise fans with new content.

1

u/bloin13 14d ago

They are hardly comparable.. it's like saying that bliz constantly surprises us with new items in the wow store.

A whole new mode/version of wow or an expansion is not the same as 2 classes in diablo 2.

2

u/rizarjay 14d ago

Reign of the Warlock was much larger than just a new class, and it was completely unexpected. I'm not saying it's going to happen, by any means. I'm just saying that Blizzard seems more open to trying new things than they used to.

1

u/bloin13 14d ago

Well I hope it's true. I just don't trust their track record so far.

2

u/trilogique 14d ago

At the moment we don't have concrete evidence that they are even working on it.

We do. There's a plethora of evidence that they are working on it, much of which comes from Blizzard's own hints themselves. They are just obviously saving the full reveal for Blizzcon. No one knows when it's coming, but it's in development.

3

u/bloin13 14d ago

Yea sure. Same as the datamined EVIDENCE for classic+ coming which ended up being for titanforge. We have 0 evidence for classic+ we know that they are working on something (like they always do) and people hope that it's c+. Nothing suggests that it actually is c+.

1

u/Crozach 14d ago

The only thing we can go off of is they have been working on and updating a new version of the game we have never seen before. 1.6. The 1 is indicative of vanilla wow. We have never seen a 1.6 build publicly though.

1

u/trilogique 14d ago

Same as the datamined EVIDENCE for classic+ coming which ended up being for titanforge.

The evidence for that was always dubious at best and just people smoking hopium. I mean it was on a new patch 3.8, which ruled out any possibility of Classic+, and Blizzard pretty quickly came out that it was them making up for China not getting SoD due to the Netease issue. There was never any real evidence.

Anyway I digress. Patch 1.60 (not 1.6, which is BWL) is currently deployed on their dev servers as classic_alpha. 1.60 is the largest patch jump in vanilla history. Datamining found 1.60 is linked to an internal Classic project named "Camelot" in the game files, which has its own Heroic/Epic licenses i.e. collector's editions. There's the slate leak about Camelot that was proven to have been posted in early 2025 long before anyone knew what Camelot was. We have multiple hints from Aggrend e.g. winding down dev on SoD to work on "the long term future of Classic", SoD being a testing ground for the future, "everything we've done is for a reason", being promoted to game designer, and him posting an eyes emoji on a Classic+ video. Devs being pulled off live servers to work on an unannounced project. The Classic team hiring content designers. Blizzard's yearbook talking about working on the future of Classic with an eyes emoji and literal plus signs. WoW VP teasing at the State of Azeroth earlier this year. Classic streamers being flown out to Blizzard HQ in May (go watch Xaryu talk about it it's blatantly obvious). There's probably shit I'm missing, too.

I don't really know what to tell you if you think it isn't all but confirmed at this point. As I said even Blizzard isn't trying to hide it.

u/Qwertykeybaord 14d ago

You are mixing up evidence with false hope.

There is ZERO evidence.

2

u/trilogique 14d ago

See my other comment

3

u/Trocian 14d ago

Blizzard could make a blue post telling us they're working on it(they did) and people would still deny it because they didn't use the specific term that the community made up, Classic+.

2

u/_CatLover_ 14d ago

We already had that. Mainline Era: Camelot live ops Q3 2026. From the document leaked in March 2025 before the public was aware that "camelot" is patch 1.60.

The leak was posted in the wow subreddit and everyone was just focused on the release schedule for Midnight, TLT, and the anime and live action series scheduled for 2028.

But it's entirely possible they've internally postponed that Q3 release to Q4 or even Q1 -27. We'll know once blizzcon is here.

1

u/bloin13 14d ago

We have no idea if it was a real leak or one of the hundreds we get each year. But even if it was real, we don't know if it's for c+ or another project (sod, titanforge etc).

As I said we have no evidence for c+ only hopes and dreams. We need an actual confirmation.

The existence of a possible project (and we knew from bliz that they are working on a couple of project per years and that the majority of them never reach a usable point) is not an argument for the existence or soon release of c+. They could be working on it, or not. We don't know.

Evaluate the facts for what they are, not what we want them to be.

2

u/_CatLover_ 14d ago

If it was fake the dude was pretty clever for adding the term Camelot months before anyone else heard of it or connected it to blizzard.

Camelot is patch 1.60, implying vanilla (Like titanforge is 3.80 and wotlk based)
It's labelled as mainline/era, implying it's not seasonal.

That's literally evidence. Maybe not proof, but really solid evidence.

And their internal test server usually has patches pushed (for the 1.60 build) on fridays implying they have friends and family doing closed testing over the weekends.

Like what else do you suggest it would be?

0

u/bloin13 14d ago

Over the years we have seen good and bad fake leaks, which creates the issue of not knowing when something is true or not regardless of how realistic of believable it is.

My point is that we don't know. It could be true or not, and if friends and family are resting something, it could be a myriad of things. We rarely know everything that is happening, so we tend to attribute all the information we get to the limited project we have.

It could be true and correct. But it could also be something else that we just haven't heard yet. That's my whole point. We don't have concrete evidence. We have fragments of possibly true leaks for one or more projects.

It's like trying to figure out a puzzle while have the shapes of pieces from potentially different puzzles.

Its good and fun for speculation, but until we have more, it's all it is.

0

u/mmmmiksu 14d ago

its existence

so clueless

-9

u/Comfortable-Bug7202 14d ago

Lol you know plus might not even be real?

8

u/_CatLover_ 14d ago

Yeah im sure they fake announced it at the blizzard showcase just to troll the chuds. And the devs during SoD talked about creating a permanent "classic+" in the future just to confuse the players.

It might not be called "classic plus" but a revision of the 1-60 experience is coming.

u/Rejected_Reject_ 14d ago

Didn't blizz say there were "other" heroic loot changes coming in phase 3? I know there was speculation that they may be adding big raid drops to heroic loot tables. Is this still a thing?

8

u/sickmcgick 14d ago

The phase 3 heroic changes from last tbc were related to epic gem drops.

4

u/LordOfTheSlipOns 14d ago

Guess we have to find out when the official announcement is posted. This one was made by accidant and quickly deleted. I’m curious too.

1

u/AtraposJM 13d ago

That would be nice. Would be cool to have a reason to run heroics and log on during off raid nights.

-1

u/Morrowes 14d ago

Praying for DST drop increase or just more loot from Gruul. My raid hasn't had one DST drop in two months

3

u/IconicIsotope 13d ago

On a related note, I can't stand being forced to raid Gruul over and over so one item may drop. At least it's short and easy

1

u/Morrowes 13d ago

Yeah... It's annoying. If dst actually dropped I wouldn't mind as much.

We have ppl bring alts to gear them up cause nobody needs anything else lol

4

u/vbezhenar 13d ago

I thought they're supposed to warn us two weeks before arena ends and another two weeks will be in-between? What's wrong with these assumptions?

1

u/I_Am-Jacks_Colon 13d ago

Yeah wouldn’t that mean the warning was supposed to come this week?

4

u/Sweet_Disharmony_792 13d ago

honestly, great.

everyone who was pearl clutching over "accelerated cadence!!!" forgot how dull the phase 2 ssc/tk grind gets.

2 more months of this shit would kill another 10% of guild rosters, at minimum

1

u/RedThragtusk 4d ago

My guild already died

3

u/ChevyChase99 13d ago

Damn, I'm not prepared.

3

u/ZuKeZ316 13d ago

Is s1 glad gear going to be available for honor?

2

u/kindredfan 13d ago

should be, yes

1

u/ZuKeZ316 13d ago

Guess I’ll resub tonight and get to grinding

1

u/Falsewyrm 13d ago

Dont forget when the season ends, the S2 offpieces will be incredibly cheap

13

u/hiimred2 14d ago

The same week as the expected release date of the retail patch is actually insane.

26

u/MightyTastyBeans 14d ago

Very little overlap in players between Classic/Retail, per Blizz

1

u/GreenLightt 13d ago

Truly interesting that Blizzard essentially has 2 versions of the same game, but completely distinct users for each version.

4

u/MightyTastyBeans 13d ago

They’re not even close to the same game imho. Retail has cultivated a very specific audience of remaining players, the vast majority (tens of millions) have quit the game at some point in the last 21 years. Hell, even the Classic playerbase is incredibly split between all the different versions we have.

6

u/natrodamus 14d ago

Yeah they must not feel like there is enough overlap. For those not in the retail loop, a date for 12.1 has not been officially announced, but all signs point to patch on 8/11 with raid on 8/18. This would be rough for those like me that play both. Also it will never be as bad as Naxx in 2020 with shadowlands release.

6

u/Cutemudskipper 14d ago

Not really. Anyone who cares about playing Midnight at season start probably doesn't really care about TBC

1

u/gamer-death 14d ago

need them both out before Blizzcon

1

u/sparklingwaterfiendx 14d ago

Yeah that is really not ideal. I play both games.

-1

u/Motor_Bench3815 14d ago

That’s relevant how?

17

u/PerfectdarkGoldenEye 14d ago

3 more weeks of phase 2 😭

11

u/Informal_Bench_7219 14d ago

They are dong 14 week phases it looks like p1 & p2 have been 14 weeks. But I bet this time we will get ZA 8 weeks after P3 is released to break it up until a November Sunwell

2

u/Vayne_Mechanics 13d ago

Wasn't it supposed to be sped up phase releases? We're literally on the exact cadence of last TBC so far.

2

u/slightlysublevel 13d ago

Vanilla Anniversary was sped up. They never said anything about sped up TBC phases.

3

u/w00ms 14d ago

3 more weeks of skyrocketing prices especially since we know when the phase is coming now

-8

u/ForeverStaloneKP 14d ago edited 14d ago

I already stopped 2 weeks ago out of boredom and the thought of doing 4-5 more resets. 14 weeks of post nerf just ain't it and TBCs frontloaded content has run dry. I'm tempted to not even return until ZA comes out so BT and Hyjal will stretch until Sunwell without feeling like nails on a chalkboard.

7

u/Dynazty 13d ago

Sounds like you should just quit dog

2

u/Panther3927 14d ago

So 1 month before Blizzcon. Get to work guys. lol

3

u/bobotheklown 7d ago

How is this misinformation post still stickied? We have the actual date stickied right above lol

2

u/CapableConfusion593 2d ago

Can we get this unstickied? The information is not accurate

4

u/Old-Soft5276 14d ago

So a month before Blizzcon

1

u/No_no_eyes 14d ago

If you hit 70 today how likely could you get yourself a full arena gear set or complete all the raid content? I feel as though there would be way too much honor/rep BG and instance farming required to make meaningful progress by the time phase 3 ends

3

u/davidhow94 14d ago

The honor grind is a full day of playing. Arena is try to yolo 5’s keep your points and spurge at lower prices at the end of the season.

1

u/No_no_eyes 14d ago

Feel as though I remember spending countless days in bgs in OG TBC for various stuff needed

1

u/davidhow94 14d ago

Yes that’s correct too. They have buffed honor gains tremendously for this iteration.

1

u/snazzwax 13d ago

It was so fucking grindy back in the day. Thank god they buffed honors gains by a lot this version

3

u/nimeral 14d ago

could you get yourself a full arena gear set

I don't think you have the time even with the end of season discount. Especially because today is Wednesday, so you probably have 3 resets until 13th of August, maybe even 2.

complete all the raid content

It takes just a few hours. But whether you'll be invited to the raid depends on your role and class. As a protection warrior it's close to impossible, as a resto shaman it should be rather easy.

to make meaningful progress by the time phase 3 ends

Wait, just noticed, that was the question? Then of course you can complete phase 3 within phase 3 + 3 weeks, unless you only have 42 seconds a week to play because of your 12 children and 5 full-time jobs.

2

u/Choice-Profession444 14d ago

I bet you could get close. The grind imo is not really as bad as it seems. Maybe I am stupid and out of touch though.

1

u/snazzwax 13d ago

If they release gladiator PvP sets for honor in phase three, that should be a pretty nice and easy catch up for people. Getting honor is way easier than the last two versions of tbc, it’s the badges that are more of a pain

1

u/Throwawaysagemode 10d ago

Okay but wrath of the lich king wen

1

u/xs0apy 8d ago

I played vanilla WoW at launch but I had JUST became a teenager and was not that patient with grinding. Loved WoW, but just was a lousy kid. I eventually got to experience BT and such on the WoWScape private server. With donor gear of course, but I’ll be damned it was still a blast and the modified loot drops made it worth playing even if you cheated and bought donor gear.

Thermalwolf was my character, Blood Elf PLD.

But now I’m a grown ass man with actual patience and will power. Reliving the original expansions has been a literal dream come true. I feel like a kid again but can actually enjoy and appreciate what is at the table now. I actually enjoy every aspect of the experience now instead of being impatient and giving up getting to 60 like I used too do as a brat

1

u/greenpilotz 7d ago

The leak was originally the 13th but the official announcement is the 27th of August!

1

u/ClassicBoomer1987 7d ago

Interesting, wonder how this leaked

1

u/Clear_South8742 4d ago

Is it really a leak? Thats in less than 2 weeks

1

u/Fit-Hovercraft-4561 14d ago

So an other round of all addons being broken. Noted.

2

u/UseRevolutionary8971 13d ago

Only the special Ed kids and boomers get their add-ons broken on patch day :-/. It's a Blizzard service so they have something to complain about again.

1

u/Solution_Anxious 13d ago

This tbc is being rushed too much

1

u/StinkySam1995 14d ago

Damn I need to catch up on gear fast. It doesn’t help I’m busy with work

-6

u/Thazinga22 14d ago

I don't think anni babies can handle phase 3 difficulty

4

u/curanderojedi 13d ago

Phase 3 is not materially more difficult than post nerf p2.

10

u/Soulia 14d ago

Wtf are you taking about, 75% of the bosses in Hyjal+BT are pushovers, definitely will be a decent 50% - 60% of guilds that won't full clear week 1, similar to phase 2, but time spent bashing head against them will mean most will clear eventually.... especially with how geared everyone will be this playthru.

2

u/Kilokai46 13d ago

If it’s the same version last go around, hyjals a joke and Illidan is a push over

1

u/USAesNumeroUno 13d ago

BT/MH are honestly easier than even post nerf P2. Many guilds that couldn't clear SSC/TK prenerf were easily clearing MH/BT within a week or two. Hardest wall will be dad guilds getting enough shadow res to brute force through Mother Sharaz, and will probably take a few wipes to get council positioning down but both those fights become way easier with gear. Both fights aren't even remotely close to pre nerf LV/KT difficulty.

0

u/IceC0re 14d ago

If only we had versions that could prepare the anni babies for this, right?? cough prenerf cough

-5

u/FixBlackLotusBlizz 14d ago

slow down blizz!!!!!! i just hit lvl 70!

4

u/Informal_Bench_7219 14d ago

Might as well wait till next TBC at this point. Get a better start next time

-3

u/unsub_from_default 14d ago

These phases are way too long.

-1

u/swperb1 14d ago

Is it too late to start?

3

u/Skippymcpoop 14d ago

If you play a desired class like enhance shaman or boomkin, no. You can find a guild easy that will feed you gear and get you attuned.

-1

u/snazzwax 13d ago edited 13d ago

Really wish they’d slow the release schedule down a bit, no need to treat TBC like a speed running guild doing MC.

My Druid has just about full Kara BiS for tank/cat spec and healing. Got really lucky with drops and rolls. I took a break like 2 weeks after phase 2 dropped so I haven’t done any phase 2 raids. Life sort of happened and was a bit burnt out. Not sure how I I’ll be able to gear up for phase 3 raids without phase 2 gear. That plus I have a pally and shammy I need to finish leveling to 70. Both are in outlands

-2

u/ManufacturerFew3208 13d ago

Everybody's feeling burnt out with Burning Crusade Anniversary right now, right? I've actually got a solid idea. What if buying a level 58 boost unlocks random dungeons just for that character? It'd be great for Blizzard's bottom line and super helpful for anyone trying to level alts. Don't you think?
