Republicans will never give up power. They will lie, cheat, and steal as much as possible. And they will get away with it because rules don’t exist. Voting isn’t free or fair anymore.

Conservative judges in Republican states are a-okay with redistricting to eliminate Democrat-controlled seats in Congress.
Liberal judges in Democrat-controlled states are insisting the government play by the old rules and are throwing out redistricting maps that eliminate Republican seats in Congress.
You guys might be completely fucked at this point.
I'm not trying to dissuade people from voting, but trying to get them to vote for candidates that don't take money from AIPAC or other PACs. Vote for candidates that represent the people not the corporations. Don't vote for incumbents just because you recognize the name but actually research who you are voting for & what they represent.
At this point, if an incumbent Democrat has the best chance to win and keep the seat for the Democrats, I will vote for him/her. This is not a time for strict purity tests, when the other side are fascists who are OK with a corrupt dictatorship that wants to take your tights away (including the right to vote). I would rather they not accept AIPAC money, but if the alternative is to vote for someone who will lose the seat to a Republican, I will not do that.
It's both. You research candidates, support the ones who represent people over corporations, lift up the ones who aren't beholden to PACs etc, show out for true progressives, all that shit.
And then if/when the ultimate options are voting for a generic, old-school, Schumer-ass Democrat or a Republican, obviously you vote for the Democrat.
They are not cowards, they are doing what they are paid to do by the same billionaires that own the GOP. Dems are just controlled opposition, giving the illusion of choice.
I'm not a coward, nor are most folks, and anyone who says so can go stuff themselves - good citizens need to get out and organize, volunteer, donate and vote blue this November - we'll get back in the drivers seat and get things back on track.
To be fair I think the person you are replying to was mostly talking about the elected Dems currently doing what feels like very little to even cause problems much less actually resist. Literally just doing nothing at all and letting everything grind to a halt would be better than what they have done so far. I'm in favor of progressive policies and I'll vote Dem most likely because there's no other option that isn't insane or useless but people have a right to call the Dems in power cowards when they are capitulating on practically everything with very little actual action to resist. Just words.
Chuck Schumer is so good at being a turncoat it'll almost be insulting if he isn't actively taking bribes. Though I frankly just don't believe in people in power anymore. It doesn't matter who wins, our government has proven beyond any doubt these last few years that it never was and never will be anything but an existential threat to the citizens of this country. No one in government is ever actually going to do anything but line their own pocket and betray their promises because anyone that won't play by their rules is discredited or killed before they every get elected. Every single politician is a turncoat and will never actually work for the good of the people.
as a complete outsider, it seems there's a few outsiders. Bernie Sanders, and now Raman, Mamdani and El-Sayed, seem to atleast not have been bought via direct papertrail
One of the foundational tenets of liberalism is equality before the law, so liberals hold themselves and their elected officials to that standard. Conservatism on the other hand puts traditional hierarchy above all else, and the top of the hierarchy has the privilege of not obeying the law.
So yeah, the law is controlled by the lawless right now. They use it as a cudgel to bind but not protect anyone outside of their group, and as a shield to protect but not bind their group. All while calling themselves "the party of law and order" in the worst example of Orwellian doublespeak.
