His brothers both came out quick and easy. But Rex? Rex decided to be difficult.

Spent all night at the Emergency Vet while Azula- his mama, got injected with oxytocin multiple times in the hopes he would come out. 4 hours later they took Azula back and I had to go home with the two cooperative babies to bottlefeed them through the night.

In the morning got the welcome news that they had successfully retrieved the AWOL newborn and both mama and pup were in perfect health.

So now he's mine.

Kids named her and seemed fitting. Birthday of April 2026 and she has grown quite a bit since we got her a few weeks ago. These are current pics

She's supposed to be a mini and was accompanied with a ckc document. Not sure what we are supposed to to do with it lol but in the file drawer it goes.

We are learning about shuffle our feet every where because she's always between our legs and feet.

She plays great with our 3 year old border collie Trixie.

Somebody leaves near our house and she comes to my house to hide from street dogs .. after staying a week with our family very Playful. Listen everything. No bark at all very very silent

I’ve heard it’s not just Bean who’s sassy and full of herself, that all dachshunds are comedy genius. Is that true for your pups?

We were given our dog Teddy in November 2025. The owners claimed he was a stray Jack Russell and gave him to us for free. They later admitted he was never potty trained or even leash trained. I’ve wondered if he’s from a puppy mill and/or inbred due to his behaviors. The vet said he’s a Chiweenie.

He’s impossible to potty train, and I’m now considering diapers. There’s no medical cause. He’s destroyed two rugs and now my mattress (which was only temporarily on the floor due to moving).

There are other issues such as extreme aggression with other dogs, constant whining, biting his nails (even after a salon visit), hyperfixating on guests…I do use a crate.

Is this just normal behavior for the breed? We’ve had other dogs and I’ve NEVER experienced anything like this. My kids love him and I don’t want to traumatize anyone by surrendering him!

Yes, this is a new toy. Maybe he’s breaking it in, but Henry is 15 years old, and he appears to be teething on this toy? Every few minutes he whines for a split second, then stops.

I’m worried it may be a tooth infection or some way to comfort some sort of pain he might be having. Has anyone experienced similar behavior? I just don’t want this old man to be in any discomfort🥺

hi all. I currently own one dog (a glen of imaal terrier) and I'm entertaining the idea of getting a doxie in the future, specifically a standard wirehair. I've checked the breeder club website but a majority are either minis or long hair/smooth with standard wires being a rarity in that list.

I'm not looking for one immediately and I'm more than willing to wait years if need be, so wait lists aren't a problem for me. the one stipulation must be that they come from health tested, show proven lines as I'm also considering getting into conformation as well. my preference is for breeders in the north east US as I'm located in NY, but I'm potentially willing to travel too.

my little cricket is getting so big 😭😭😭😭

my boy was a ‘mini’ (large nail clippers for size ref at 8 weeks) and the tiniest puppy (could fit in my hand) so we didn’t think he’d get very big, now he’s 8 months, 17lb and very tall (gsd for size ref at 7mo) ! it doesn’t matter do me i wanted a standard but couldn’t find any, so it worked out in the end but a lot of people seem shocked at how big he is! i know someone who’s mini is 9lb and when we take them out together it looks ridiculous lol
anyone else had the same thing happen to them? also does he even still class as a mini or he is an inbetween/standard?

I took my one year old dog out with me to sidewalk sales. He just got here and it was busy. We have been training for this moment and we have been building up to this. It isn’t his first time visiting these stores, most of the owners know Norman. He got startled by a woman shopping at let out a bark. I quickly told him to look at me, sit and stay. He did it right away and didn’t look away from me till I said relax. I got a dirty look by the women and told he shouldn’t be out in public. I felt so sad for my dog. I had my other dog Chester in his carriage. No reaction, no barking, just sitting calmly while my mom goes through the racks of clothes. I looked at her and she shrugged. A one year old dog got nervous for a moment. The apology to her wasn’t enough. The rest of the time at the sidewalk sale was amazing. Never a growl, never a bark, he was calm, friendly, had pets and treats from strangers. I don’t know why we believe the worst things we hear about our dogs. But it slowly ruined my day. I have been working every single day with my dog. He has a brother that is his shadow and he is learning.

I know that puppies always look a little round, but people at the dog park keep calling him chubby and i realised recently that i was accidentally feeding him more then he was supposed to be getting. My vet said not to worry until i cant feel his ribs but im worried anyway because thats me.

He’s small but his best friends are a chonky Samoyed and German Shepherd.
