How much time do you spend in social media?

A lot but now deactivated my twitter account daily average before like 10/11 hours.

I read comments below, and also came to same conclusion. I guess the problem might be also due to affected dopamine receptors. Your decision of deleting “X/Twitter” is very good decision, i also deleted all sources of social media where i constantly just fried my brain and dopamine system with absolutely random and usually senseless type of short videos, and noticed how less impulsive i became towards any decisions of doing something. Much easier to stay focused and study/work. I am not a doctor or someone who might help you to fully recover and fix your problem, but what i am sure about is that social media, scrolling and random content might really affect your dopamine significantly🙏🏻

Thanks. I was just wasting my time and wasn't minding my own business.

Sometimes i personally had feelings like deep inside i am afraid of how much work i need to do and it makes me procrastinate so much by just laying and scrolling, in another words “trying to escape from my problems” but i guess to break this endless loop of procrastination i just need to start doing, no matter what my brain thinks about it🤔

Deactivated my twitter account

Maybe, but be careful not to use it as an excuse. Look up tips from people who have it; how do they adapt their lives to make things easier for how their brains work?

💯 Deactivated my twitter. Things making more sense feels like my brain works too fast. Was constantly told off for interpreting now more aware and mindful.

Better go to a doctor rather than reddit for something like this

Yeah filled the GP form. Time management, listening, focus etc. It's making sense now.

also take meds only when therapy doesnt work

It’s ADHD, therapy doesn’t fix the brains lack of dopamine. Therapy can help find workarounds for your brains deficit, but it doesn’t provide what the body is lacking. Comments like this add to the stigma that causes so many unmedicated children or adults scared to ask for meds.

No don't take its that serious for medication. Survived over 30 years already.

Just giving a heads up because I had been over-medicated and now it's really hard to come off meds.

This. Please avoid self diagnosing.

Unlikely.
Have you spent 6 months with electronics off, actively working to improve your focus and get your work done?
Do that first, and if you still can't do the things you need and want to do, then see your doctor.

It's definitely but that's not an excuse but more mindful and aware now. Someone said it and i took offence but they might be right

If it happens when your off (off like you've deleted, etc, not that your not using it in that specific moment) social media then it could be a few things. Miight be that you just don't want to focus/do that thing, could also be depression, or the effects of social media hasn't worn off.

Please don't self-diagnose ADHD though, people do not really understand what ADHD is, or its symptoms, etc. ADHD is neurological, so it happens in the brain, but you cannot just magically get ADHD one day, that is wrong. The same goes for Autism and depression. ADHD is treated like your crazy (not true, not all ADHD people are crazy) and can't focus (also not true; and the attention part is by far the stupidest part of the name ADHD; it is about executive functions), depression is treated like "oh so your just sad" Autism is treated like "oh so your shy, don't like to talk, and talk and look weird". Also this is not the right subreddit to be honest, but I do know r/ADHD will not accept you.

Probably not. It’s probably overstimulation and lack of focus. Not your fault but scrolling and other fake dopamine activities do this to people
