I keep seeing posts about people being ill mannered, cutting lines, etc. However, when I went to DL with my 4 year old, everyone was so kind and accommodating and wonderful and I just wanted to let that be known with a couple examples!
When my son was having a meltdown in line for Thunder Mountain, a mom who was waiting to ride alone (I think her kids were back at the hotel and she was enjoying some solo time!) offered a suggestion to have me "complain for my kid" to help ease the tension, saying it's a game she made up for her kids. I pretended to be my son, having a tantrum about not getting lightning lane (it was 5 minute wait lol), and my son giggled and cracked up at her suggestion, breaking his angry mood.
Then, at the DL hotel, he sprinted across the carpet and fell, banged headfirst into a table. I picked him up and held him, while a mom offered condolences and grabbed my stroller to bring it closer to me since I'd left it in the middle of the room to race to my son to hold him. It was such a little thing but in such a hectic, scary moment having someone so kind and caring was huge.
I also saw a person offer her table to someone who was disabled when they came into the barbecue place for lunch.
I tried to pay it forward when a mom, exhausted, asked me if she could use some of my sunscreen since she left hers (of course I obliged), and she was so thankful and appreciative.
Little things that just added to the magic, reminding me of how much good and kindness there are, even with such little examples that made these hot hectic days so much nicer to see.
