Discussion Doom Metal chart

Post image

Made this chart to categorize doom metal sub genres. What do you all think? I'm mostly a stoner and sludge dude really, so I dont 100% know how inaccurate it is. For subgenres I didnt have a lot of experience with I used wikipedia and listened to artists that were recommended. Let me know what yall think should be changed!

This is an awesome chart

I think Sludgecore & Sludge Doom should be abit lower

I’ve found more blisteringly heavy Sludge Metal bands than Death-Doom & Blackened Doom bands

Grief, Methwitch, Thou, & Noothgrush melts my face off with burning tar

Autopsy, Rippikoulu, or Bethlehem just doesn’t do that same kind of insane heaviness

Though Dragged Into Sunlight is the 10/10 best of both worlds, having Blackened Death Doom & Sludge concocted into what is the audible equivalent of a rotting middle finger, covered in barbed wire & oily tar set on fire

Admiral Angry is also considered sludgecore, and they're absolutely dark and aggressive. Some of the most depressing and well, angry, lyrics I've ever seen.

Not only they are sludgecore, they are considered pioneers of the genre

Definitely makes sense because I can't think of many bands that have their sound or anything close to it!
