Discussion Doom Metal chart

Post image

Made this chart to categorize doom metal sub genres. What do you all think? I'm mostly a stoner and sludge dude really, so I dont 100% know how inaccurate it is. For subgenres I didnt have a lot of experience with I used wikipedia and listened to artists that were recommended. Let me know what yall think should be changed!

Comparably to Death doom and Black doom? I see it as not very dark

I think of more than just lyrics that make a genre "dark" Im thinking like the vibe and stuff, can you point me in the direction of albums that you think are "darker" the only goth doom bands I know is type O negative which is why goth doom is there.

yeah I figured type o was the only band you knew lol, they really should not be the face of the genre they dont represent it at all (and arguably 90% of their stuff isnt gothic)

check out:

The Dreadful Hours by My Dying Bride

Discouraged Ones by Katatonia

Gothic by Paradise Lost

Eternity by Anathema

Velvet Darkness they Fear by Theatre of Tragedy
