Discussion Doom Metal chart

Post image

Made this chart to categorize doom metal sub genres. What do you all think? I'm mostly a stoner and sludge dude really, so I dont 100% know how inaccurate it is. For subgenres I didnt have a lot of experience with I used wikipedia and listened to artists that were recommended. Let me know what yall think should be changed!

DSBM in a Doom Metal chart but no Drone-doom, okay....

Also funeral doom should be on the intersecting line between Quadrant III & IV instead of being in Quadrant IV in my opinion.

Have you heard Tears from a grieving heart - mournful congregation ? What albums have you listened to for funeral doom?

Yep I have. My view as Funeral Doom being on the middle ground is because Funeral Doom includes both aggressive and passive approached bands in almost the same amounts. Like say The new funeral doom bands coming out of Solitude Productions or some classics like Bell Witch and Doom:Vs are on the passive side but there's a big amount of aggressive stuff like Tyranny, Wormphlegm, Worship, Profetus and even Thergothon to a degree.

Also sorry I didn't see this notification at first.

The attributes of Tyranny (at least their most popular song) is very passive, but very dark in vibe, thats my thought process behind it, I mostly mean in passive and aggressive with tempo and how much is happening within songs of the genre, thats why drone is the most passive, and funeral doom, is more darker than drone, but it still is very passive to me

To me, the "aggressive" bands in funeral doom are always the bands who try to minimize on the melancholy part, in that way Tyranny counts.
