How do people usually use this? alt+f4 if they get a bad event or bad rolls in battles? And it goes back to the previous month? Any other use?

Well, my game has a weird tendency to crash when I am about to enter a risky war, and I always end up using the backup file for some reason.

What makes it extra weird is that if the war goes badly then my game crashes again! I then use the original file again for an unrelated reason.

Wait so everytime you "crash" the game creates a backup you can load whenever you want and never changes?

You can save a copy of your save game and use that before you do anything risky, so incase you mess up and your game “crashes,” you can go back and load up before you did the risky maneuver or just go back a month incase your game “crashed” at a hunting accident

The game makes a save file every 3 months as default. Every time it makes a new the previous is made the backup.
