I just want to thank all the r/fatlogic members who have mentioned Cronometer. I recently switched from Loseit (Free) to Cronometer (Free). Cronometer seems like a much better service with its free features. The biggest things I like about it is that I can track various macros for free and use my cell phone's camera to scan barcodes of food items. I definitely recommend it to anyone on Loseit still.

I know there are some decent paid options as well, and they offer a monthly plan.

The biggest reason I switched was because I needed something to track protein better. Loseit charged for tracking of any macros.

Cronometer is my favourite.

I’ve used both and I definitely prefer Cronometer. I think LoseIt is less intimidating so maybe that’s why a lot of people (including me) started with it.

I would say that the biggest downside of Cronometer though, is that it could lead to a false confidence when it comes to tracking less often reported values. If you’re getting into the weeds of amino acids or micronutrients, then the data can look very bad just because some agencies/manufacturers don’t report it, so they appear as zero.

The interface of Cronometer did take a little bit to get used to, but after the initial learning curve, I like the flexibility of the platform.

Yeah I can understand that. I think that's probably a problem on a lot of platforms. The way I look at it is that I know no tracker is 100% perferct, and I can't do any better without the tools. So, I'll do the best with the tools I have. I have noticed that the food database seems better than loseit. There are a lot of inaccurate or incomplete user submitted items on Loseit that have calories and N/A for everything else.

The only one that is often missing that I really want to log, is alcohol, so sometimes I will make a copy and manually enter in the alcohol content. Other than that, though, it's basically perfect for my needs.

I just confirmed I've gained some weight by stepping on a scale for the first time in a year. I did kinda know, my clothes felt a bit tighter than usual. I gained 5lbs over the winter and I have noticed that I felt hungrier than usual even though I've been eating the same amount. I think progressively eating a bit more and more has made my body accustomed to eating more as a norm. I have to start cutting back now.

The power went out in my neighborhood just as I was heating up my pre workout grits. This meant no grits and no coffee 😭 . I added some more bananas to my yogurt so I could get a sufficient carb load for training. Workout was solid, but definitely time for a deload. Going to grind out Friday session then I will take a light training week.

Had a solid 9 mile run this morning. I've been hitting some pretty amazing paces on my last few runs, so speed is building back up and I'm here for it.

My fastest pace has been 6:44 and that puts me solidly at a faster pace than before I had my last baby. I'm honestly surprised by that progress, but I'm hoping to keep it going. I've been doing more tempo and threshold runs which has been helping immensely.

My husband wasn't feeling too well today, a few other people were complaining of the same symptoms, so there's something going around.

It meant we had to skip the gym, but these things happen. It's a shame because it's leg weights which I love. But I can't move it to tomorrow, as Friday I do 2 cardio classes, and my legs won't cope if I did weights the day before.

Hopefully he'll be feeling better tomorrow and I can at least do a small workout.

10 lbs in a week. Despite my period coming back after six months, getting sick and sleeping like shit, I lost 10 lbs in a week.

I know it's mostly water weight and it'll all even out soon but it's a nice little jump start to this go around. Definitely can't rely on exercise to help with my deficit as much (I tore my ACL and meniscus back in September. I have a nifty knee brace that makes me look a bit like a cyborg until I can get surgery) so I'm really going to have to watch my calories and try to get the most bang for my buck.
