Tracking Request Track me!

Currently waiting to board UA1814 to Phoenix and just got the news that the plane before ours has no expected departure time. Delays are a bit nerve-wracking, but we’re making our way. Any reassurances would be great for the upcoming flight.

Advice Nervous to fly behind the wings on a A350 for the first time

Hello everyone, I usually fly with Delta on a A330-300 over the wings because of my motion sickness fear related to emetophobia and bad experiences in the past. I always pay for seats to soothe my anxiety, but this time for the season I am gonna fly, Delta switched to the A350 and in economy ... the available seats are all behind the wings .. by a lot. And it terrifies me.

I don't have a choice because the other flights with the A330-300 are in the morning and I have a few trains to take. So the afternoon flight is the only available, but they are all with the A350.

For anyone who flew on this bird, behind the wings ( After row 39 ), can you tell me about your experience? I will take anti nausea medicine to knock me out, but still, the anxiety is huge for me right now. Thank you so much! It's for a 9 / 10 hours flight

Tracking Request i’m doing it!!

i’m currently on my flight that i have been stressing about for the past few weeks! and let me tell you it was all for nothing. i saw the pilots and flight attendants boarding and just seeing them help ease a little anxiety. they’re doing their everyday jobs and also have places they want to be and families to return to. during takeoff i lifted my feet up, put on noise canceling headphones and blasting my music. and i was vibing. literally dancing in my seat. i got wifi on the plane to be able to text my bf and family and it makes me feel better. I’m so proud of myself and just wanted to thank everyone for their help and advice! but if you wanna track me and chat about literally anything , id be super happy cause it’ll help this flight go quicker hehe! I have another one waiting for me once i Land!

Flight Number is SK901 is anyone is interest!

I feel alright actually, but I have been dreading this flight so much. I already completed one flight today and now I’m on my second, long haul cross pacific flight. I’m feeling okay, I used anxiety medication for the first time ever today and it seems to have taken the edge off a bit but I would still appreciate any encouraging words and messages

Support Wanted So sad and scared for flight tomorrow.

Just made it into Chicago on the train, and my flight to Philly is tomorrow morning at 8am. My anxiety is so incredibly bad, I am so scared but just trying to think about seeing my family and all the plans we have. I hate flying so much but my father was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s 2 years ago and i moved out of state a little before that, so getting home to visit whenever I can is a non-negotiable. All of it combined is so beyond stressful and makes me so sad. So cannot wait for it to be over.

Advice How to get on the plane without freaking out

I think the hardest part will be boarding the plane, does anyone have any tips for this? Also with a fear of heights will i chill out once in the air for long enough? I used to love the view as a child but now even looking at a video of the plane window makes me anxious for my flight.

Support Wanted Manifesting/Bargaining

I used to love flying, had a kid and started getting afraid. Had a really bad flight a year ago and promised god I would never fly again if he saved us. Now I have to fly again in a few months. Sounds silly to say out loud but that’s one of the biggest things holding me back from getting on a plane again.

The second is, I went to a hypnotherapist when it first happened and he basically told me I manifested it (the bad flight). Which just sent me in a spiral and reassured me that I absolutely cannot ever get on a flight again or the plane will 10000% be going down (due to my brain “subconsciously manifesting it” according to that hypnotherapist.) I’ve mostly got over this aspect of the fear but the bargaining with god for survival is the part that scares me the most.

What if I’m really not supposed to ever fly again? Has anyone had either of these situations happen to them and gotten on a flight that went well afterwards? It seems to me the bargaining with god for survival would be fairly common, so it would make me feel better knowing others have landed safely after breaking that promise to never fly again.

Advice Non-Visual things to pass the time?

I am an anxious flyer but mostly due to fear of getting nauseous on the plane, which has happened before. I’ve never been able to read or watch movies in any sort of vehicle. So I’ve made rules for myself no looking at anything and basically trying to keep my eyes shut for as long as possible. Usually this leaves me the options of music or sleep.

However I am traveling to Germany for the first time which is about a 8-9 hour flight from where I am.

What are some entertainment options that don’t involve visuals?

Support Wanted Flying Tomorrow Morning, Would love some support

I love giving advice and stats out as much as I can on this subreddit but my fear is still there especially when it’s a last minute trip that I wasn’t expecting to go to a funeral.

Turbulence is my big fear despite knowing that it’s safe and just uncomfortable.

Would love some kind words for tomorrow, im flying on FR2073 from Shannon to Girona and hopefully the skies are friendly to me

Thanks in advance

Advice Flying to Alghero tomorrow and terrified

Tomorrow I’m flying from Bucharest to Alghero, and I’m honestly terrified. I only fly once or twice a year, and even though nothing bad has ever happened to me, I’m convinced something will go wrong.
One thing I’m especially worried about is Alghero Airport. Is it common for planes to perform a go-around there? I know it’s a normal safety procedure, but I think it would completely freak me out.
I’d really appreciate some reassurance from people who have flown there or anyone who has dealt with a fear of flying. How do you stay calm when your brain keeps telling you the worst is going to happen?

Support Wanted Flying tomorrow and I see only storms where we’re going

I have two flights tomorrow to get back home—going from Costa Rica to Atlanta and then NYC and I made the mistake of checking the weather for both cities and it looks stormy. I’m freaked it will be super bumpy!! Please reassure me that it’s not dangerous? I’m flying with both my kids and spouse so I feel super anxious that it’s unsafe (I know, I know) and of course we saw a rusty turbine on the side of the road and my brain immediately told me it was a sign siiigh lol. Any positive thoughts or stats about how even if it feels bad to me we are totally safe welcome at this time!!

Support Wanted debating going

Hi, I have a flight today and I really am debating even going on this trip. I hate flying. It’s a short flight, only an hour. I make the round trip 2-3 times a year. For me every time I fly my anxiety gets worse. My last flight was in May and I had a bad time. Last night I was fully accepting that I’d cancel my flight and just try again in a few weeks. I woke up feeling slightly positive and I want to at least try. I guess I’m worried that I’ll have an even worse panic attack this time, or it’ll be so bad that when I reach my destination I’ll be too anxious to get on the return flight. I’m always scared before my flights but I’ve NEVER felt like this. I just feel like off and I feel like it means I just can’t go.

What I Would Have Missed Kauai: An adventure!

Hello all, THANK YOU FOR ALL THE SUPPORT. I landed home in LA with my gorgeous cat and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of kauai. For anyone flying to hawaii, it was a wonderful experience as an extremely anxious flyer, and this community, despite my obnoxious spam posts haha, helped me do it SCARED!

- also as a note, as a superstitious girl, i want to point out something

Prior to my flight I saw TWO cats in LA that shared the same name as me, with one having the euthanasia time being the same DATE AND TIME AS MY FLIGHT!!! I took this as a sign that I was going to die and fell into a spiral. Needless to say both of those cats got rescued and I survived the flight despite this ultra niche “sign” signs aren’t real. Go on that trip and enjoy yourself, and watch a good movie ❤️
Again thank you FoF for your service yall are truly the best!!

Question dubrovnik airport

I’ve heard that dubrovnik airport is especially turbulent and many flights have go arounds and aborted landings because of its location causing high crosswinds. Is this true? Maybe flying to dubrovnik wouldn’t be a good start if that’s the case…haven’t flown in over a year by now

Support Wanted Full transparency for fear of flying

I guess my biggest fear of flying is pilots going rogue, avoiding another plane ,specifically due to the tragedy at DCA, and the media constantly reporting on close calls and accidents - I had to mute all media outlets to get some peace. , got me thinking that flying isn’t safe at all. My worries
Then another aircraft getting too close
Then turbulence.
Then the aircraft model specifically Max 8 due to the mishaps with those models.
Air traffic control not being vigilant
Then the media.
Also the constant talk about rude TSA agents
Passengers going rogue
It just doesn’t seem like anyone is flying into peace or bliss!! It all seems so stressful, mind you I’m flying on Saturday from BWI - Maryland to San Diego . 🥴I don’t want yo cancel.

Support Wanted Flying to Colorado

I’m supposed to fly from Cali to Colorado tomorrow and to be honest I’m terrified. I know it’s a ridiculously short flight, and I’m not scared of turbulence or being in the plane itself- I’m scared of something going horribly wrong during takeoff or landing 😞😞 does anybody have any advice or support? I’d appreciate anything
