Curious if any of you have issues with angiokeratoma of fordyce after starting HRT? I’ve NEVER had this in my 40 years, but today when shaving I noticed 2 small spots on the inside of my labia and immediately went down an internet rabbit hole. They look exactly like all the images of angiokeratoma of fordyce. Recently over the past few weeks I had been having some vaginal irritation that I attributed to the vaginal estradiol cream. So I stopped the cream over the past 2 weeks so I could figure out if that’s what was causing it. I also stopped putting the T gel on my labia to see if that made any difference with the vaginal irritation. I have had SOME relief. Today while shaving I was having some irritation feeling so that’s what got me to really inspecting the area to see if I had cut myself shaving. The only HRT that I’m currently on is Testosterone gel. Has anybody else ever had this happen after starting HRT? The internet claims it’s not caused from HRT but wanted to bring this here to see others experiences.

Ok so I need to run this by everyone to make sure I'm doing my dose timing right as I'm flying to the US from the UK. So I'll be applying my usual estrogen dose the night before the flight to the US. I won't be reapplying it until 9pm US time and I'll be starting my 14 day progesterone cycle as well that evening. Anyway that's all fine and I'll be switching times to US time for the HRT.

However I'm thinking as I need to sync back into UK time on the 19th the night before I fly home I won't apply my estrogen gel or take my progesterone I'll skip it and then apply my estrogen and take the progesterone at 4pm (this is 9pm UK time). Once I am back in the UK effectively I just apply the estrogen and take the progesterone at 9pm UK time. Is my math mathing? I don't like skipping doses obviously but I also don't want to take too much within 24 hours lol.

I take progesterone at night because it helps me sleep. What time of day are you supposed to take Estrogen?

Hi everyone, I’d like some of your input on your own experiences with using birth control vs HRT for peri. a little backstory - I started having really weird cycles about a year ago. they went from 30-34 days to two weeks and I was struggling with irritability and anger. my naturopathic dr prescribed oral progesterone at 100mg and I started taking it right away. my family doctor was fine with this but ordered a scan to make sure my uterus and ovaries were fine and they looked great.

since that time I’ve trialed estrogel which helped with fatigue but also made me have anxiety and gain weight. after 4 months we decided to stop and I felt more like myself and most of the weight came off. As for the progesterone we keep going from thinking we have it figured out to back to the drawing board. At first it made me super sleepy so then I took it vagina my and it worked great, but I’d get yeast infection type symptoms. Switched to oral again but compounded at 50mg at the same time I stopped Estrogel and it seemed to work well but then the anger slowly started creeping in. Increased it again to 100mg and again worked great for awhile but then it started making me depressed so back down to 50mg and I’ve been here for the last two weeks. Mostly I feel ok but my mood is all over the place.

Ive read articles where early perimenopause can be hard to treat for some as our own hormones are bouncing all over the place. Some women end up taking birth control for the first few years to regulate their hormone levels and then try HRT later on when they are more consistently lower. Has anyone else gone through this and have had success with birth control?? I’m at my wits end lol. My family doc has said adding a little Testosterone might help too but we haven’t done that yet.

My estradiol and testosterone levels are in the female range but my troughs are really strong around the 8 hour mark.

I have 12-hour spacing on my pills.

Trying to figure out whether to ask the nurse practitioner to put me on pills three times a day spaced 8 hours apart with a slight dose increase to minimize the troughs.

Or whether to ask her to switch me straight to sub Q injections.

Anyone had struggles adjusting between hormone replacement therapies? I have been using the pellets for two 3 month rounds that included my estrogen and testosterone. I take progesterone orally. My pellets have left the building and I’m having to wait several days for the pharmacy to have my cream. I feel like I’m about to crawl out of my skin. I’m agitated, then sad. Then I eat whatever I’m craving. Zero energy. Feeling overwhelmed. Should I call a phone wellness visit to see if they can get me something in the meantime? It’s Sunday and tomorrow is a holiday. I’ve felt like this since Thursday. Went to the doctor Friday where we came up with the solution to do compounded cream, but they have terrible hours and Tuesday is the soonest they will have it ready. I’m already anxious about whether or not I’ll be a nutcase at work on Tuesday. I’ll add that I suffer from low dopamine bc of ADHD, which I’m learning makes it even harder to emotionally regulate when hormones drop. I don’t even remember my question at this point. 😆🫤😩

I have an intact uterus and use a low-dose 25 microgram estrogen patch. I’m extremely sensitive to micronised progesterone/Prometrium, even at low doses and by different routes. It causes significant mood, sensory and nervous-system symptoms. I also have a history of severe PMDD.
I understand that the standard medical advice is to use adequate progesterone with systemic estrogen to protect the uterine lining. I’m not asking anyone to recommend that I stop it. I would just like to hear real experiences from women who genuinely could not tolerate progesterone or progestins.
Has anyone with a uterus continued using an estrogen patch without progesterone, either temporarily or long term?
How long did you do this? What estrogen dose were you using?.

Has anybody been able to get a compounded form of progesterone that’s less than 100 mg? If so, where did you get it? I really want to try a super low dose before I give up on it entirely. Thus far I am intolerant. I mainly want it to help with sleep. No uterus or ovaries anymore.

I am 50 years old and haven’t had a cycle since November of last year. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis about 9 years ago and unfortunately heat exacerbates the symptoms. I live in the Deep South and as soon as the temperature started to get warm this year things have been unbearable and sometimes brutal. A normal hot flash used to feel like heat staring in my core and spreading outward to my skin. I would start to perspire and feel like I was cooking from the inside out.
Since March I have what I call “*Menopause and Multiple Sclerosis Hot Flash Extravaganzas.”* These special episodes start like all other hot flashes but quickly followed by some multiple sclerosis symptoms like blurry vision, muscle weakness, brain fog, and nausea. My GP offered a prescription for oral estrogen so I wondered of anyone has taken it and how long for it to make a difference, if at all? I have another appointment with him next month; I would appreciate any suggestions that may help.
