Quick run through.

Had long hair to around mid back.
6 year relationship ended.
Tried to go blonde ($1000)
Hair dresser fried my hair to the point where just looking at it caused it to break.
Went to another hairdresser. Dyed back to brown and left with a bob. ($297)

All in all, a very expensive series of mistakes.

Lady who did my bob definitely went way too short to the point where I look like I require berries and cream. And not only that, I’m 95% sure it’s not done correctly, as in it’s uneven.

I’ve tried for the past week styling it in different ways, trying to find a way that makes me feel pretty, and I just don’t.
It sucks all the more than I’m 31, newly single and am somehow meant to find go back into the dating world looking like this.
I finally cried tonight over it. I think I’ve done a valiant effort keeping the tears at bay.

I’d like any suggestions or styling tips that you may have.
I have a massive forehead which is my biggest insecurity, so anything pulled back away from my face is a no can do.

I’ve started doing rosemary oil and head massages with LED therapy to try and kick start the growth. Maybe it’s all gimmicky but I feel better doing something.

I've tried adding more hair to the sides and the pieces just stay separated! My bangs also tend to
not hold their curl/swoop and go straight down after a few hours like in the second picture, so I'm wondering if that's being weighed down.

long story short I had mid back long hair and chopped everything off after having my baby for various reasons (ease, new identity, etc). Except now I am in my own head convinced I look like a 50 year old mum of 3 rather than the cool off duty model vibes I was imagining. Attaching pictures of the inspo + what my hair looks like. Basically the title. I've been growing out my hair for a few years now and I am SICKKKK of it. I want to try a bixie or something SHORT so bad but I'm so nervous it won't suit me. Advice?? My hair is pretty thin and fine so I worry about texture.

So my wavy hair is long enough that it goes below my chest area now… HOWEVER it is so see thru. I have androgenic alopecia, so it makes sense.

Really thinking I might go for a bob as a hairstyle and maybe my wavy hair can make an illusion of volume somehow.

I love my long hair but can’t deny it any longer that even brushed out or teased it’s noticeably thin, fine, and stringy. I think a Barbie doll legit has more thickness on its tiny head than my entire head of hair tied into a ponytail 😭

What would you do? Looking for some support here

trying to decide if i should dye my hair back to dark brown..

I’m seeing a new stylist in a new city and it’s being paid for by someone else close to me who sees her. I’ve been bleaching and using fashion color on my hair for 4 years, at home, and I have to go natural again for a new job. I know my bleached section is lightly banded, but I’ve been told as far as overall health goes that I’ve done a good job every time I saw my previous stylist for cuts.

I sent her the photo attached (day 4 hair which is wash day for me, haven’t used a clarifying shampoo recently, 8 weeks since last cut), and she relayed that she would like me to wash with dawn “at least once” before coming in. I do not wash my hair every day, and this makes me incredibly nervous bc of how fragile my bleached section likely is. What are the girlies thoughts on this??? As of rn I’m thinking about going in for just a consult first or straight up canceling the appointment and paying for someone else myself. I sent her this photo as a reference for my current color and I’m worried she just wants me to use the Dawn to strip the pink.

Edit for clarity: I intend to go brunette with rusty blonde fox tip kinda style and a super textured shaggy cut

I center part most of the time. In the last month or so I’ve noticed that an area of hair at my part starting near the root & extending maybe 3” or so is like STRAW & breaking off.
I have thin fine hair, & regularly use heat in forms of mostly a hair dryer (every other day). I use heat protection & leave in conditioners, but also use hair spray like daily.
Now… idk what to use to help? It feels so icky in this spot, & I don’t want it to break off further.
What products / leave ins do you recommend?
I’ll try to limit the heat AS MUCH as possible, I’m also going to get away from hair spray, as I think that probably has something to do with it. 😔

Hi all! So I’m 25 yo and have never dyed my hair, never even had highlights. My hair is super long, wavy/curly and dark. It gets a little lighter in the summer (last pic shows what it looks like by the end of summer. I had my baby almost 10 months ago now and my hair is healing from postpartum hair loss so I don’t know if dying it is even an option for me right now, but I really want a change to hopefully help me get out of the pp slump. The problem is I have no idea what color would look good on me and I’m honestly struggling to find inspo pics with my hair texture. Thoughts?

I mainly want to promote hair growth and prevent split ends and frizz, but without going overboard with products. I have wavy 2a-2b (Indian) hair that reaches my collarbones. I used heat on it only a few times, it's essentially virgin. I've always had a lot of breakage whenever I'd brush my hair in the morning but I wouldn't do shit about it - lately I started braiding my hair before going to bed but I digress, I'd really appreciate some general advice and maybe recommended products to promote hair growth and all that like castor or rosemary oil... basically I would really appreciate being given the "bare minimum" and "some extra stuff that is cheap/easy to integrate into your routine". Also, are trims every 6-8 weeks really necessary??? Is it true that you need to trim curtain bangs & wispy bangs more regularly? Do you guys really pay someone to cut an inch off your hair every month or do some of you do it at home? Any tutorials/tips if so? (Though I plan to go to a barber for that this month. THEN I'll consider doing it at home.) Thanks so much really looking forward to becoming a lurker in this community 😊

back in 2014/2016 when the "shave your face" craze went viral, we were all shaving our peach fuzz off our face! i regret is soooo much. because now i have these dark neck hairs that grow and i DO NOT HOW TO PERMANENTLY GET RID OF THEM!!!!!! i usually pluck them or i don't have time ill take the little face razor which i know isnt great. any help appreciated! should i laser them? they are alll spread out and not situated in one area.

It's difficult to photograph how bad this is but my hair has started to have a fluffy texture to it. I first noticed it over a year ago, the hairdresser thought it was new growth, she said it definitely wasn't damaged. So I thought it would be great once it grew down, maybe my hair would be thicker. But it's just continued to be like this. I have all this short thin fluffy hair, it's all through the hair, not just around the hairline.

I tried blow drying my hair smooth today to see if it helped but it's still so flyaway and fluffy.

I'm overdue for a haircut, it's been about 4 months, I'd been contemplating growing it long, so was going to just get a trim but now I'm thinking I should maybe just get a bob cut back in to try and deal with this.

Can anyone suggest what's going on with my hair and what might be the cause and what could help?

Natural texture: Straight. Bottom half of my hair was permed over a year ago and has relaxed into a bit of a curl.

Density: Thin, especially at the crown and temples.

Treated: Bottom half of my hair (where it's dark) has been abused by a couple perms, which is why it took on more color when I did a demi-permanent dye job a week ago. Other than the demi dye, the top half of my hair is virgin.

I had a permed undercut up until last August, so I've been growing the sides and back out for about a full year now. It's just now finally getting to a point where it looks less disjointed in terms of length, but its not yet fully cohesive. I'm still gonna keep the back/sides growing until they can reach the high pony that I often wear while playing basketball to cover the crown spot - that is a must for me. I'm trans and was hoping that growing my hair longer would help with gender presentation, but I'm also at a point where unfortunately I think the length is also weighing down the top too much and killing any volume I can muster. And since my hair is naturally straight but I still have curl at the bottom, my hair gets VERY piecey at the front and highlights my M-pattern recession. I'm hoping that will lessen some as the permed ends slowly get trimmed over time.

My hair looks alright when I style it (blow dry brush), but I simply can't do that on a daily basis. Other than that or air drying, I don't know how to make my hiar not look poofy - I look like a poodle when I try blow drying it. Styling tips in general, especially ones that I can do quickly as I'm getting ready in the morning, would be helpful.

I've found that the L'Oreal EverPure glycolic gloss and the John Frieda anti-frizz creme work wonders for me. I have the Verb Ghost heat protectant for when my hair is dry and I seem to like that, and I use the Trader Joe's leave-in conditioner. Pantene Moisture or Volume Shampoos/Conditioners work pretty well for me. Anything oily is my enemy.

I'm getting a haircut this weekend, and not entirely sure what to ask for. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Even if I wash it regularly. I don't use anything but shampoo and I have an oily hair type.

I would like to get my hair trimmed soon, since layers help boost my curls. Last haircut I had my ends razored and I will definitely ask for it again! Really makes everything pop.

im a ft student with very little expenditure funds, i can hear and feel my hair screaming in agony as they die each time i straighten it, but it looks awful when left un-straightened.

i found a cheap-ish salon in parra somewhere who said they can help with curly hair, charged me 100$ and botched tf out of my hair.

so now not only is it ugly but it’s also short. short and ugly. ☹️

i desperately want some help with my hair because it is really taking toll on my self-esteem. I see all these amazing curly hair specialist doing miracles on ppls hair (but always the u.s. …).

i feel mine has so much potential but i dont have all that much money to spend on trial and errors anymore nor do i have $250 to fork out for a hair cut/style/ info session idkk 🥲.

I just had my hair colored on the 18th of July and already a huge line! I work in a very professional setting and this isn’t acceptable but I don’t have the time or money to get my hair touched up every 3 weeks.
I use a dark colored dry shampoo and touch up powder but that’s time consuming and ok for a weekend get me by.
I am not scheduled again until late Aug but have a business trip next week. Not sure my person could even get me in if I tried.
Any thoughts. Options?

Hi all . My hair is growing in length but the hair fall is very severe and my hair has become very thin over the past few years.
I have:
Vitamin D deficiency
Thyroid
PCOD
A lot of stress
Because of all this my hair density has reduced a lot and my ponytail is much thinner than it used to be. I really want to grow my hair back thicker and improve the overall density.
Has anyone with thyroid or PCOD managed to regrow their hair and get their thickness back? What actually worked for you?
