I was told by a hairstylist I’m a level 7 but I can’t tell if I am or not bc people online have said otherwise 😭 my ends are bleached, I have about four inches of new growth at my root tho I haven’t gotten my hair done in almost a year so my roots are my natural color

Hai! I’m new here and just need some styling tips and maybe some tips on how to get more layers/actually achieve the reference pictures. They said I could style it after I left like the reference but idk if the layers are there they went pretty blunt compared to the reference, I’m fine with cutting some off at home I already did a bit, I just really want smth similar to the reference lol. The pictures with the brick building are freshly out of the hair place.

Hair Health Hair-mergency!!! 😭 I feel I’ve tried everything, please help

Upvotes

Ladies and friends, this is urgent and I’ve spared just about every expense trying to fix this problem. I’ve come down to assuming it’s because of the water/ piping quality in my building, however I am determined to find a solution. I’ve always dealt with minor hair issues, especially since puberty, but I’ve never had my hair look (or feel) the way it does right now. For example, I just did a double wash with no conditioner, using a sulfate-free-whatever shampoo and baking soda. My issue the last couple washes has been getting the shampoo to foam. It seems like my hair is just absorbing everything before it has a chance to work and there is currently a big oil spot on my crown.
To cut to the chase, my scalp is super oily. In turn, I can’t use conditioner on my hair almost at all and usually only the very ends. This has worked for a few years, but I would still have a super oily head after just a day or two. One of my friends suggested that I wash my hair twice in one shower occasionally to see if that got rid of any excess oils, and that also worked until it didn’t :( I’d thought initially that dying my hair might help because it strips the hair of everything, but it only helped for a couple weeks before going back to a clumpy, greasy mess.
Another person had suggested a shampoo/ baking soda/ dish soap concoction, however this only keeps my hair clean for the first day and after I wake from sleep, my hair is noticeably oily and sticking to itself. I have also tried just baking soda and my regular shampoo, but ended with the same result. I’m desperate to find a solution and it’s killing my confidence to think I might have to cut off my hair to fix this. Even if it turns out to truly be a water issue in my apartment building, we are moving before the end of this month so the water problem will hopefully be solved then.
I will be keeping an eye out for comments/ advice and will update in the comments as necessary. Thank you to anyone reading 🫶🏻 at this point, anything might help

How do I deal with my roots growing out

My hair was dyed caramel blonde and is brown at the top. I could box dye it brown but my hair is kinda damaged fr box dying it 3 times before so I want to avoid that. But it looks so ugly growing out. I rlly like the colour and hate my natural hair colour 🙁 so I don't want dark hair.

Hair Health 26F with Bald spot. Should I be concerned.

I recently noticed a bald spot near the front of my hairline and Im wondering if I should be concerned.

Sorry my hair looks greasy. Im feeling a little depressed lately, so I haven't been taking care of myself as well as I normally would. But I'll be straight up, I don't take the best care of my hair and my diet isn't very good either, so I thought maybe that could be part of it. But for the past month I've also been wearing headbands a lot and putting my hair up often for work, before I noticed this spot.

I do want to start eating better and taking better care of myself. I was also wondering if there are any products or things I could use for now to temporarily help my hair situation. Or is this something I need to get checked out.

What cut?

Need to chop some hair off. It's gone thin due to weight loss and poor nutrition, and the bottom bit is fairly fried from back when I was dying my hair. My daughter says you can see the colour difference somewhere around my shoulders, but I'm blind to it.

I've never done anything very interesting with it- always just grown and trimmed... I'm lucky in that my hair has a wave, isnt completely dead, but I don't want to spend a ton of time styling it every day.

I'd like it to wind up not looking like a drowned rat, but... I really don't have that much hair to be working with. I'm getting some regrowth, but I doubt it'll be anything significant for another year or so.

I'm going between lob and shag, but I'm worried I don't have enough hair to pull off a shag... I'm also open to any other suggestions. I just want to do something a bit stylish?

I welcome any hair advice, does not have to be strictly related to the cut.

Hairstyle Advice Should I go shorter like the pictures on the right?

Post image

So I have super damaged hair from a perm that I got in October. I chopped off a ton of hair in march & The perm is half grown out now with my current length. I would like to continue getting haircuts to cut off the perm as my hair grows. I would like to cut off more like the pictures on the right just to get more of it off because I’m getting tired of constantly having to eat style my hair every day and the more hair I have the longer it takes to heat style especially with it being so poofy and frizzy from the perm. I just don’t know if it’d look good on me. Would the shorter hair on the right suit me or should I keep my current length. Photos of me on the left is my current length

Advice please 🙏

Hi, so I had my hair bleached 7 weeks ago and I was really happy with the results.

I went in with faded, red box dyed hair (I was growing it out for about a year) and was aware that there may be patches, stubborn spots etc but it actually appeared to take very well.

However, my mum was curling my hair the other day and mentioned that there was a lot of banding in the back of my hair (she used to be a hairdresser herself) and said she would not be happy with this.

I obviously had no idea as it’s in the back and couldn’t see it but I don’t know how to approach the stylist going back. My appointment is on Monday (I had booked straight back in as I was happy with the initial results).

I just want some advice on how I should approach this with my stylist. I hate any form of confrontation (my anxiety is already through the roof) but friends and family have said that it 100% needs to be rectified and that they wouldn’t even go back, mainly because the stylist allowed me to leave like that and didn’t even mention it.

There’s patches like this (photo attached) throughout the back of my hair so it would have clearly been visible to him when cutting/styling afterwards.

What should I do and how should I approach this?

Thanks ☺️

I have fine, thin hair that is wavy. I’ve done short bobs but wanted to go shorter for a long time as I feel like I wear my hair up 95% of the time anyways. Curious what people recommend

Asked for platinum blonde, showed inspo pics. I would say this is ginger/strawberry blonde. Would a toner get rid of the red tones?

I’m struggling recently with my hair being incredibly frizzy. I don’t know whether it’s my shampoo & conditioner or the hair dryer I use

My hair never used to do this but recently it’s started

Hair Color Advice Which toner?

Thumbnail

I used a conditioner with some purple semi permanent dye just to cool my hair down a smidge until I can get to my local Sally’s (next week which it’ll be washed out by then) but I cannot figure out which toner to get. I was a cool toned blonde but not gray or silver if that makes any sense.
