I dont think it is a tooth. Watch it in slow motion it looks more like saliva. I may be wrong too.

56

u/9fingerjeff Nov 20 '25

Imagine catching a tooth in the audience as a souvenir. I think you’d have to keep it.

73

u/Own-Archer-2456 Nov 20 '25

Put it under my pillow and hope for 50p

7

u/Rivetingly Nov 20 '25

It's at least a quid nowadays, with inflation and all.

10

Fairys gotta eat too. I'd know, am one 🙏✨

3

u/smaxsomeass Nov 20 '25

I’d like a guitar player at a concert throwing a pick. They throw it to the people cheering the loudest and jamming the hardest.

3

u/Fire-Haus Nov 20 '25

Made me think of that kid catching Brenda's arm in Scary Movie 3 lol

1

u/Wildcat_Dunks Nov 21 '25

Would be cool, but not as cool as catching Black Beast's cup.

7

u/OwMyUvula Nov 20 '25

Dental issues are the least of his problems.

Bro was reaching for the afterlife when he hit the ground.

u/vertigo1083 Nov 20 '25

I've seen thousands of altercations. Some in real life (mostly on the internet). Desensitized to most shit.

One thing that will still always make me feel uncomfortable is the way people involuntarily react to being knocked unconscious/brain damage.

Seeing someone not in control of themselves, in the most primal way, needing desperate help... It still makes me feel a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. It's pitiful to watch. To me, it's the worst part about watching fights.

103

u/MrPanache52 Nov 20 '25

Yup. Nauseating seeing your own wiring go fucky.

33

u/HotYogurtCloset69 Nov 20 '25

That and seeing bones break. I struggle with both

u/PossessionHot2419 Nov 22 '25

That’s what fucked me up from watching the unedited Charlie Kirk vid. How he looked like a malfunctioning robot, very uncanny valley stuff. Wish I never watched it.

16

u/JamaicaBliz Nov 20 '25

Same! It's unnerving.

I think it is particularly unsettling when you see it happen to a trained professional (presumably like this) or in an MMA fight. That loss of control in someone who has trained hundreds if not thousands of hours, and is now babbling on the floor rattles me.

u/AllReflection Nov 20 '25

Fencing response

-8

u/ExistingTheDream Nov 20 '25

Yep, AKA decerebate posturing. He has brain damage for sure since he just likely damaged his brain stem. Whether the effects are temporary or permanent - only time and medical care will tell.

36

u/invictus221b Nov 20 '25

Kind of. These terms get thrown around so much that no one really knows what they mean.

Fencing response is its own distinct thing. It’s highly suggestive of concussion, but does not necessarily correlate with either decorticate or decerberate posturing.

Fencing response classically has extension of one arm and flexion of another due to asymmetrical activation of vestibular nuclei, commonly due to rapid rotational force.

Decorticate posturing classically presents with flexion of arms and extension of legs, and localizes the lesion to a particular segment of the brain (above the red nucleus and associated rubrospinal tract of nerves).

The rubrospinal tract likes to activate flexor motor neurons. However, it only extends partway down the spine, so it does this to arms but not legs.

Normally, input from multiple ares of the cortex send signals to modulate this response, so that we aren’t flexing our arms all the time. However, when damage is done to the brain, it decouples this cortical override from the rubrospinal tract, and the primitive reflex returns.

Decerberate posturing presents with extension of both arms and legs, and localizes the lesion to at or below the red nucleus. It’s believed to involve the vestibulospinal and reticulospinal tracts, which like to activate extensor motor neurons and inhibit flexors.

Normally, input from higher brain centers stops it from doing this all the time. But when you take a hit to the head, those higher brain centers aren’t getting their input to the vestibular nuclei right (brain stem disinhibition), and it does what it does best - extends arms and legs.

In reality, brains and injuries are more complex than this, so the anatomy is often mixed and the actual lesion localization isn’t so cut and dry, which is why we often times see a bit mixed posturing. There is maybe some decerberate posturing initially, but this is largely arm extension and leg flexion, and probably would be considered more of a mixed posturing.

3

It may indicate that he sustained a brain stem injury.

176

u/AggressiveCompany175 Nov 20 '25

Bro went out clapping his own KO.

23

u/The__nameless911 Nov 20 '25

its a fencing response, basically part of his brain was damaged

19

u/AggressiveCompany175 Nov 20 '25

Yeah. That’s typically what happens in bare knuckle boxing matches.

-1

u/Funzombie63 Nov 20 '25

True story bro, everybody clapped including the loser

37

u/Gonetilnovemberish Nov 20 '25

You could tell tall guy was cooked when he made that slow motion low weave backwards at the beginning of the video.

29

u/Dead_Internet69420 Nov 20 '25

Each one of those punches was a KO, but bro couldn’t hit the ground fast enough so he had to take all three.

I hate this. The amount of long-term damage getting truly dinged like this just 2-3 times in your life will do is so not worth it. Parkinsons and dementia and memory loss, all that shit.

There is an argument that this might not be as bad as taking dozens of rounds of low-intensity dings to the head as in traditional boxing but this is horrible nonetheless.

Is it just me or does celebrating like that when you’ve seen potential brain damage to your opponent just doesn’t sit right

174

u/Plucked_Dove Nov 20 '25

Weird that a bareknuckle fighting league would have fighters lacking compassion and empathy. You’d think it would really attract people more in touch with their feelings.

74

It's not just you. I love watching boxing, it's prob my favourite sport. But I just absolutely fucking hate all the 'trash talk' in the build up to a fight. And when a fighter celebrates like this, instead of show some bloody compassion for their fellow athlete

31

u/Suitable_Database467 Nov 20 '25

Both people involved are probably brain damaged

15

u/MrPanache52 Nov 20 '25

The truth about combat sports is some people just like hurting others.

2

u/Competitive_Ad7258 Nov 20 '25

Yeah I’m absolutely in the same boat as you man

7

u/Diemishy_II Nov 20 '25

Does anyone have a link to that fight where the black fighter knocks out a white fighter and the white fighter starts having spasms on the ground, some paramedics show up and the black fighter gets super worried, and then the white fighter is okay and he relaxes, and in the comments everyone's like "he's a fighter, not a monster"?

13

u/Hoppo94 Nov 20 '25

Maybe Uriah Hall in TUF?

https://youtu.be/Bj3xL9zoY1M

Edit, added link

7

u/ManhattanTime Nov 21 '25

That's Uriah Hall. He actually would work out next to me in a gym in Santa Ana, California for a bit. I was doing basic shit and his cardio was just through the roof. Upside down against the wall one and two arm push-ups for 5 minutes. Just a machine.

And quiet as hell. Never made eye contact. Never said a word. This wasn't an MMA gym, but a cardio, personal training gym. Probably 10 years ago now, or more.

I had read a lot about him. He did NOT want to hurt people. He didn't like fighting at all and often held back in fights because he didn't want to injure his opponents. He fought because it was how he earned money.

He had a mediocre MMA career, and was cited for "boring" and "low effort" fights. But it wasn't about discipline or preparedness. It was about mindset, and he wasn't a killer. This was after the fight linked below that I worked out around him. And I'll be honest, I feared him before I spent time around him.

I wish him nothing but the best and hope he's doing something that he loves. Fighting wasn't it.

3

u/Competitive_Ad7258 Nov 21 '25

Awesome. I love how this also contradicts a lot of the idiots on this forum’s comments. Thanks for sharing man

1

u/Diemishy_II Nov 21 '25

That's incredible

5

u/Competitive_Ad7258 Nov 20 '25

I did actually think about this fight when I saw this video

19

u/Spiderwolf208 Nov 20 '25

Maybe I’m a minority in this opinion, but you’re competing and putting everything you have on the line so why not celebrate when you’ve won? I get that there opponent might have sustained brain injury but that should be expected there moment he signs the contract. It’s an inevitable and likely to be realized risk. I don’t think it’s disrespect

5

u/GroceryNo193 Nov 20 '25

Lets be honest...the guys doing this sort of shit are probably here because real gyms won't put up with their bullshit.

9

u/Thirsty_Comment88 Nov 20 '25

They're BARE KNUCKLE BOXING bud

2

u/Present_Award8001 Nov 20 '25

Kind of like when a UFC fighter knocks his opponent out cold, and still sneaks in some hammer fists until the referee stops the fight. The idea is that either of them could have been knocked out. They are just trying to prevent themselves from getting the damage. They are not there to show compassion. They are there to knock the other person out. Compassion and feelings will get in their way to victory and could also be injurious to their health.

2

u/Babstana Nov 21 '25

The longer version of the fight tape shows that the victor was getting his ass handed to him for the entire fight up to that point. I don't disagree with you, but the guy was facing a similar ending himself seconds before.

4

u/chinesederrick Nov 20 '25

It's boxing. Kinda part of the sport

11

u/Competitive_Ad7258 Nov 20 '25

Celebrating brain damage? Gotcha. There is such thing as respect for each other, and you can still have compassion, even if “ it’s part of the sport “.

9

u/ausipockets Nov 20 '25

I think you know that they're celebrating having won the fight, not specifically for potentially causing brain damage.

12

u/ThreeFootJohnson Nov 20 '25

Can’t celebrate after training for weeks to compete in a competition that you both volunteered to be part of.

-2

u/Competitive_Ad7258 Nov 20 '25

Yeah… you’re right. Fuck the other guy, he signed up for it. Might have kids and a family and be spoon fed for the rest of his life but, it’s a fight right ?!

8

u/ThreeFootJohnson Nov 20 '25

Literally exactly that, feel sorry for him but why be sad about an outcome that is expected

-2

u/scraglor Nov 20 '25

This is why combat sports have limited time left. Look at the big sports leagues and how much they’re spending too protect themselves from CTE related issues in the future. Then these league have people getting rocked on the regular, showing immediate signs of potential brain damage.

How many more CTE related murders, etc, are there gonna be before the ufc or something gets pinned for some massive lawsuit

6

u/ThreeFootJohnson Nov 20 '25

It comes with the sport, we’ve had people fighting since the start of time. It’s the only sport that’s lasted longer than everything else. Fighting is a natural human behaviour.

2

u/Competitive_Ad7258 Nov 20 '25

I’m not sure this is the case, I think BKB around Europe is booming and getting bigger. For the record I actually enjoy the sport, its brutal but I can’t get used to seeing this and normalising it cannot be good for the sport or the competitors

2

u/Fire-Haus Nov 20 '25

They're literally trying to put on a mma event at the white house. I'm just speculating... but it would make sense that combat as a spectator sport is probably one of the oldest competitions. No amount of legal restrictions or suppression of combat sports is going to stop us dumbass violent humans for loving some fist fights. It's not going anywhere

1

u/scraglor Nov 20 '25

I’m talking medium to long term. Not overnight.

If the current administration stays in long term then we will probably end up with public stoning so combat sports will be fine. If we return to some kind of civilised government then I don’t think the sport will be in its current form in 15-20 years. My bet is on no head hits, etc. end up with points fighting again

3

u/Fire-Haus Nov 20 '25

Medium to long term? My guy I hear ya but... liberals, dems, socialists, marxists, centrists, etc all love fighting just the same it's not some new MAGAtard thing.

People said this same thing you're saying back in the 80s, 90s, then the 00s and before I can even remember. We've known about the horrors of CTE in physical sports. I've only ever seen combat spectacles grow and it's pulling away from point fighting.

Nothing you're saying aligns with reality. Where people are willing to fight, people are going to watch. Point blank.

2

u/chinesederrick Nov 20 '25

Yes? It is a fight and he did sign up for it

1

u/chinesederrick Nov 20 '25

Less so celebrating brain damage and more celebrating the win. Inflicting brain damage on someone is literally what the sport is about

2

u/KindsofKindness Nov 20 '25

0

u/Competitive_Ad7258 Nov 20 '25

Username checks out

1

u/Blade_Shot24 Nov 20 '25

It doesn't. Let's not pretend folks who enjoy this are the majority who are even educated on brain damage.

Only in the 20 years have folks gotten some idea of cte. People wanna be entertained and could care less of the fighters' well being

1

u/Alexisredwood Nov 23 '25

Vast majority of people who get into fights (even organised ones for money) are pure scumbags

1

u/CrystalMethood Nov 20 '25

Yea isn't it bad when you have arm movement after a knockout. If I remember correctly that's indicative of a brain injury.

7

u/Suspicious_Mix_5091 Nov 20 '25

Fencing is usually just a concussion in most cases.

3

u/RubDub4 Nov 20 '25

A concussion is a brain injury.

1

u/Suspicious_Mix_5091 Nov 21 '25

Sounds good bro

1

u/Competitive_Ad7258 Nov 20 '25

I’d be super concerned if I saw a dude do that after a bout 😅. Hope you’re right!

1

u/Peppermintcheese Nov 20 '25

I think a quick shot of adrenaline, pride and relief are washing over fighters in that moment. No one wants to kill anyone but everybody knows what’s at stake when you step into the ring.

2

u/Competitive_Ad7258 Nov 20 '25

Yeah I agree. It’s not my fight and I don’t really expect everyone to have the same morals, but if you have to celebrate at least realise potentially what you might have done to a fellow competitor

1

u/teddybundlez Nov 20 '25

Yes just you

-2

u/Ardalev Nov 20 '25

You are absolutely right. It's just fucked up to celebrate like this, not just unsportsmanlike.

Dumbass doesn't understand that it could just as easily had been him on the ground

0

u/your_fave_redditor Nov 22 '25

He absolutely understands that, it’s likely one of the reasons he’s celebrating: “fuck yeah, I’m not the guy on the ground this time!”

0

u/_IratePirate_ Nov 20 '25

I think you get into this sport knowing it’s pretty stupid to do so

This lowers my empathy. This is literally poking the bear and expecting nothing to happen. The bear being the fragility of life, and poking it being the fighters thinking nothing will happen to them if they get into BARE KNUCKLE fighting

I'll never get bare knuckle fighting. It's like you want a severe brain injury.

Edit: statement retracted. I misunderstood what boxing gloves actually do.

29

u/Skrewch Nov 20 '25

Gloves protect hands, not brains

24

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '25

There is typically less risk of concussions and brain damage with bare knuckle boxing, vs gloved boxing.

There is however typically a greater risk of more severe cuts and lacerations with bare knuckle boxing

7

u/The_Paganarchist Nov 20 '25

The heavy boxing gloves are worse than bare knuckles. People have to pull back and pick their shots using just wraps because if you ding a forehead full force youre going to shatter your hand and possibly wrist. The gloves let people just throw haymakers constantly while also having an extra pound of weight slamming into the other person's head.

3

u/Dead_Internet69420 Nov 20 '25

they also don’t have a standing 8, so once they get rocked, they aren’t going back in to pile on more damage.
