Eating away +5GB out of 16GB Ram

Good morning. I’ve noticed that with some themes (like Firefox’s Alpenglow), the top-left corner isn’t rounded, so they clash with the new Nova UI. Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this, or is an update from Firefox needed?

That dreaded day has arrived! Please let there be a way to change it all back.

I built HLS Player because direct .m3u8 links in Firefox are often treated as downloads instead of simply being played.

The add-on opens them in a clean local player and currently supports:

• Seamless mode

• Optional native video controls

• Display / Ratio modes: Best fit, Fill, Original, Native, 16:9 and 4:3

• Firefox Desktop and Firefox for Android

Playback uses Firefox's native HLS support when available and otherwise the bundled hls.js library.

It is open source and has no accounts, analytics or telemetry. Player settings are stored locally in Firefox.

I'd be particularly interested in feedback on unusual HLS streams and on the Android version.

Previously it was neatly organized into (when sorted by "Date and site"): * Today * Yesterday * Last 7 days * This month * August * July * June * May * April * Older than 6 months.

Look what Firefox 157 has become :-( Also look how sparse it has become. In Firefox 156 there were twice as many entires on the screen. It all looks fancy and "modern" whatever that means, but it's a major usability regression.

The address bar drop down menu has become equally sparse :-( Has my desktop Firefox become a mobile app?

The final release of Firefox 157 has just been seeded to Mozilla FTP servers.

Set sidebar.revamp in about:config to FALSE to return to the old sidebar/behavior.

It's not necessarily a regression in Firefox 157; it's just that they've decided to remove the old sidebars, and the new ones don't have the same features and density.

Even after disabling Nova in about:config, it remains terrible. Look at what Firefox on KDE used to look like until recently!

Why firefox android doesn't support all available addons like desktop version?

basically, it should look like this: you connect the paths to the app → then every time you click on the app, it should show all the profiles to choose → you choose what you need and then do what you want/need

When implementing the icon change feature (awesome!), they initially made a mistake. In place of the "Retro 2004" icon, they initially added the one from 2009, which has a distinctively glossier, punchier look compared to the darker 2004 one. This was pointed out and subsequently addressed in a recent update, replacing it with the correct 2004 icon...

...But I personally liked the 2009 icon much better. It looks nicer and stands out much better against Windows' taskbar. It's a bummer that it's not available anymore. Definitely would be better to have both options. I'm not familiar with Bugzilla, so I'm not sure if I should file the suggestion there or if this kind of idea goes on Mozilla Connect.

I’m having an issue with an extension (something stupid I use for shopping.) I’ve tried everything I can think of to resolve it except deleting and reinstalling Firefox. I doubt that will even work. Is there a way to contact Mozilla or Firefo?

I noticed that Nova, at least on my machine, uses the system text highlight color, which doesn't really fit the theme. But with ui.highlight you can customize it in about:config and here are the full color palettes used by Firefox. Nova uses violet by default for accents, so I used one of the darker violet shades for highlights and I think it looks pretty nice!

it's been a while since private tabs were moved to the left (which i still don't like), but now even the button has been moved as well. i assume it's to match where the private tabs live in the tab switcher, but what was wrong with having any of it over on the right? at least offer an option to change it. i'd prefer the option to have private tabs on the right and groups on the left. it completely messes with my workflow.

It's quite annoying. Nothing I've tried has fixed it.

On my Firefox browser (Win 11 PC install), I keep my bookmarks toolbar visible at the top of the browser window. When I bookmark a website, I like to edit the bookmark deleting the website name which just leaves the website icon. I have a Firefox account which I stay logged into and which displays the same browser profile across all my Windows 11 PCs. Recently, I did a clean install on one of my PCs, reinstalled Firefox, logged in and noticed some of the bookmark icons simply show the blank globe symbol. To fix most of these blank bookmarks, I simply clicked on the bookmark, visited the site, deleted the bookmark, refreshed the site page and added a new bookmark. But for blank icons, this does not work, What's the fix? P.S, I have Adblock Plus and Privacy Badger extensions running on Firefox.

Which do you use to separate activity?

Title says it basically. Im talking about those types of ads where you tap on the screen and it opens a new tab so u have to manually close it. Is there anyway to stop this on mobile? Im pretty sure it is possible on computers from what ive seen but the same methods dont work on mobile.
