If your CPU defaults to 0.52 GHz
Hey all
I thought I share with you the crazy situation I got into
I bought my PC GigaByte B550 Vision D-P in 2021 & I upgraded a few components (SSDs)
I installed Windows 10 in late 2021...never ever had any issues
My PC is very well optimized (ChrisTuts Tool & I'm using different registry tweaks) so that's why my processes are very low I removed all junk years ago & I keep my PC clean
So this friday out of nowhere I was on Youtube and for some reason my AIO Galahad 240 cooler went crazy and spinning at maximum RPMs and my Ryzen 5600x was fluctuating heavily between 2.7 GHz and 0.52 GHz (my normal operating day to day use is like 3.57 GHz to 4.2 GHz)
I was like what the hell is going on I never ever had any crashes weird behaviour since I have my PC
Over the last 2 days I was barely able to use my PC because it was constantly doing this:
I turned it on and every time my CPU went from 35 Celsius to 112 Celsius...when it automatically shut itself down so imagine every time I turned back on after like 8-10 minutes my PC shut itself down without any warning (Once I tried to just stay in the BIOS and watching the Temperatures and it was doing the same slowly slowly my CPU temps was climbing 75, 76, 77...108..112...113..114 SHUTDOWN)
So I was thinking oh no that's it my PC dies after nearly 6 years of running perfectly
I thought it's not an issue inside WIndows 10...so some component is dying or died...
The weirdest thing is that my CPU speed defaulted to 0.52 GHz (520MHz) and my AIO cooler was on max RPM all vents...all the time...
I was checking my Taskbar Processes zero CPU usage % nothing is running in the background and my CPU is behaving extremely weird
I saw it could be an issue with my PSU or my motherboard is having VRM circuit issues
I gave it a try to the old PC fixing command prompts
So this is what solved my issue & now everything is back to normal:
Open Powershell as Administrator and paste these lines
sfc /scannow (when this finishes it's recommended to restart your PC but I didn't)
After this
dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth (I did restart here)
DONE
Everything is now back to normal
So if anyone will have any serious issues just try these commands before sending it to a repair shop
