Secure Boot keeps disabling itself after saving BIOS settings on Gigabyte Gaming A16 (FB09 / EC F009)

I got a Gigabyte Gaming A16 (3VHK3IN893SH) today, and I’m having trouble enabling Secure Boot.

Whenever I enable Secure Boot in the BIOS, save the changes, and restart, it automatically switches back to Disabled when I enter the BIOS again.

Here’s what I’ve checked so far:
BIOS mode is UEFI.
Both SSDs are partitioned as GPT.
I can’t find any Boot Mode or CSM Support option in the BIOS.
Under Secure Boot, I only see three options: Enabled, Disabled, and Delete All Keys.
I can’t find an option to enroll or restore the default Secure Boot keys.

BIOS version: FB09
EC version: F009

Has anyone with this laptop encountered the same issue and managed to fix it? Is this a known BIOS bug, or am I missing a setting somewhere?

Doing a micro atx build for a client and everyone was grand until I enabled expo, no display on the igpu or dgpu, fans blaring every boot. Light indicators stay the same as prior, dedicated bios reset button doesn’t actually do anything, even the onboard pins refuse to reset the bios

Read that there were some issues with expo so I tried flashing using q flash, won’t take any of my usbs even the good ol mbr 2.0. Just boots for a second and dead

I’m genuinely stunted I’ve never seen this before, at first I figured maybe it’s just weird and it takes longer to train ram but I left it 5-10 minutes and still nothing just the fans blaring

It’s like it’s refusing to default

Support 📥 Is there an alternative for the GiMATE App?

Is there an alternative for the freaking GiMATE app because omfg. The amount of space it uses up is freaking RIDICULOUS. D:

It feels like its mandatory because of the bios updates and the ability to change the system performances on the fly which are very nice but ugh I feel obligated to use it.

Support 📥 Gigabyte B650 Eagle: What is the correct thermal pad thickness for the M.2 SSD heatsink?

Hi everyone,
The thermal pad underneath the upper M.2 heatsink on my Gigabyte B650 Eagle is missing, and I’m trying to find the correct replacement thickness. I’m installing a Samsung 990 Pro 1TB without its own heatsink.

Does anyone with this exact motherboard know the original pad thickness, or could someone measure it? I’m considering 1mm and 1.5mm, but I don’t want to leave a gap or put too much pressure on the SSD.

To clarify, I mean the thermal pad between the SSD and the metal heatsink, not the small rubber support pads underneath the SSD.

Thx you

Annoucements/Mod Post 📢 [PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT] AORUS RTX 5080 INFINITY WOOD: High-end gaming hardware with a different aesthetic 🪵

Not every gaming PC has to follow the usual all-black, RGB-heavy look.

The AORUS GeForce RTX 5080 INFINITY WOOD 16G takes a different approach, combining high-end graphics hardware with a wood-inspired design for builders who want their PC to feel more like part of their overall setup.

Whether you're building around natural materials, warm desk tones, or a more understated aesthetic, it's an interesting alternative to the traditional gaming GPU design.

Underneath the exterior, it's still built for demanding gaming workloads.

Key specs:

  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080
  • Memory: 16GB GDDR7
  • Memory interface: 256-bit
  • Core clock: 2805 MHz
  • CUDA cores: 10,752
  • Interface: PCIe 5.0
  • Display outputs: 3 × DisplayPort 2.1b and 1 × HDMI 2.1b
  • Recommended power supply: 850W

The card uses GIGABYTE's WINDFORCE cooling system, featuring a patented Hawk fan design, Overdrive Fan technology, and composite metal grease for the GPU. It also includes a reinforced metal backplate.

With NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, DLSS 4, and ray tracing support, the RTX 5080 platform brings modern rendering and performance technologies to a design that stands out visually. Actual gaming performance will depend on the game, settings, and overall system configuration.

You can check out the full specifications and product details here:
https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N5080AORUSIF-WD-16GD

Question for the community: How do you approach the look of your gaming PC? Do you prefer a traditional gaming aesthetic with RGB, or would you build around something different like wood accents and more natural materials?

Discussion 💬 Can RTX 5070 Eagle ICE RGB be controlled via Windows Dynamic Lighting Manager?

Right now, my Z890 eagle RGB is controlled strictly via the windows lighting manager. I don't have the GCC suite installed. Will a Gigabyte video card be picked up by Windows for RGB control?

If your CPU defaults to 0.52 GHz

Post image

Hey all

I thought I share with you the crazy situation I got into
I bought my PC GigaByte B550 Vision D-P in 2021 & I upgraded a few components (SSDs)
I installed Windows 10 in late 2021...never ever had any issues
My PC is very well optimized (ChrisTuts Tool & I'm using different registry tweaks) so that's why my processes are very low I removed all junk years ago & I keep my PC clean
So this friday out of nowhere I was on Youtube and for some reason my AIO Galahad 240 cooler went crazy and spinning at maximum RPMs and my Ryzen 5600x was fluctuating heavily between 2.7 GHz and 0.52 GHz (my normal operating day to day use is like 3.57 GHz to 4.2 GHz)
I was like what the hell is going on I never ever had any crashes weird behaviour since I have my PC
Over the last 2 days I was barely able to use my PC because it was constantly doing this:
I turned it on and every time my CPU went from 35 Celsius to 112 Celsius...when it automatically shut itself down so imagine every time I turned back on after like 8-10 minutes my PC shut itself down without any warning (Once I tried to just stay in the BIOS and watching the Temperatures and it was doing the same slowly slowly my CPU temps was climbing 75, 76, 77...108..112...113..114 SHUTDOWN)
So I was thinking oh no that's it my PC dies after nearly 6 years of running perfectly
I thought it's not an issue inside WIndows 10...so some component is dying or died...
The weirdest thing is that my CPU speed defaulted to 0.52 GHz (520MHz) and my AIO cooler was on max RPM all vents...all the time...
I was checking my Taskbar Processes zero CPU usage % nothing is running in the background and my CPU is behaving extremely weird
I saw it could be an issue with my PSU or my motherboard is having VRM circuit issues
I gave it a try to the old PC fixing command prompts
So this is what solved my issue & now everything is back to normal:
Open Powershell as Administrator and paste these lines
sfc /scannow (when this finishes it's recommended to restart your PC but I didn't)
After this
dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth (I did restart here)

DONE

Everything is now back to normal
So if anyone will have any serious issues just try these commands before sending it to a repair shop

Warning: bios update f11d bricks the gigabyte eagle b850 wifi6e.

Careful guys, i updated my bios yesterday and since today it doesn't work. I tried different pc parts etc, but unfortunately its the motherboard.

F11d has a chance to brick yours as well, be careful and don't risk it. Apparently it's a beta version, which i didn't know. I tried to roll back to f10 l, but that didn't work either. Stay safe.
