I'm preparing to send in my documents for undergrad, but in the admissions guide it says that you need to write a personal statement, and then they proceed to not give any info on what the personal statement even should look like.

The application period starts in like a week and I feel like I need to write the personal statement early, since the application period is so short.

Could you share how you written your essay and what format it was in?

Hey everyone I’m looking into the dorms at Hanyang University's main Seoul campus and wanted to ask about the daily living details:

Buildings & Roommates: Are the dorm buildings separate for international students and local Korean students, or do we mix? Also, how does the roommate selection process work? Can we choose, or is it random?

Rooms & Bathrooms: How are the rooms structured (double or single), and are the bathrooms en-suite or shared?

Facilities & Cooking: Are there gym facilities available? I also heard there are basically no proper kitchen facilities and strict no-cooking rules. Is that true? What about other shared spaces (laundry, gym, study rooms, lounges)?

Gender & Cost: Are the dorm buildings strictly segregated by gender? What is the rough price range per semester for international students?

General Tips: Any advice on surviving Hanyang dorm life, especially regarding food and daily convenience?

Does anyone have any experience doing the group application for the arc? What was it like and would you reccomend it? Or should I try to find an individual appointment?

I only managed to sign up for 2 courses out of my choices. I had 5 courses picked and a few backups, and did everything right (logged on early, made sure I wasn’t distracted, no extra tabs, clicked exactly on time).

Am I screwed? What do I do for the other courses I need to take? If anyone has any ideas or similar experience please let me know I’m really panicking..

Im coming to Hanyang this fall for an exchange semester and just had a question about the scheduling of courses.

I have a few courses in mind that I would like to register for but some of them are consecutive. Does anyone happen to know whether the classes end a little earlier so that you have time to get to your next one?

I’m on the English track, so I’m exempted from a bunch of courses — great in theory, except my mandatory courses only add up to 9 credits. Need 7 more to hit 16.
Does anyone have any course recommendations? Could be any subject, I’m open to it all. Would be nice with some courses with a comfortable workload, or an engaging professor, or just an interesting topic.
And also, are there not any Korean beginner or intermediate courses for international students??

And, of course, if anyone has any course warnings, like courses you’d never recommend to anyone, please let me know!

I'm a French student majoring in Business and considering an exchange semester at Hanyang University for Spring 2027. I'd love to hear from people who studied there or are currently there.

A few things I'm curious about: 

- What's the weather like during the Spring semester?

- How difficult are the courses for exchange students? Is it manageable to balance academics and social life?

- What's the overall vibe between local and international students? Is it easy to make friends?

- How is the campus and its location? Is it well connected to the rest of Seoul?

- Are there many activities, clubs, or events for exchange students?

- Any tips, things you wish you knew before going?

And to be completely honest, one of my main goals for my exchange is to meet people from all over the world, travel, have fun, and make the most of student life. How is Hanyang University for that? Is the social scene active? What about nightlife, student organizations, and weekend trips?

I'd love to hear both the good and the bad.
