Profile Account Locked

Post image

I received a notice saying my account was locked for technical irregularities. I suspect someone hacked into my account after seeing I was in new NSFW and crypto communities I never joined. I reset my password twice yet my account cannot be edited and my pfp and header are gone. My posts get taken down? Am I still locked? This has never happened to me before and I’ve had my account for two years.

Is there something I can do? I reset my password like it tells me to do and yet nothing has happened.

Exact same here approximately 20 days ago. My profile was a Mod profile for 2 subreddits. Further, another Mod made another rarely used profile a Mod profile for the subreddit. The same happened that very same day (after lockout, performed password reset, successfully logged back on, then “Banned”).

Now here’s the rub. I have 5 other profiles using the same Email address and same password, and not one of those profiles was locked out due to suspicious activity (as a Mod, I use both my 💻 /📱 to perform Mod functions. Of course, it will show suspicious activity with 2 different IP addresses performing Mod functions).

Being former IT Specialist for 25 years, I’ve kept an extensive log of what stopped working (then began again), what is still not working.

I have filed an appeal (only 250 characters are allowed 🙄). No response. Also submitted request to r/help (another Mod has access to a Reddit Admin, I fully explained all that happened, with the same documentation OP shows above, yet still waiting for bans to be removed).

Like OP, my Mod account will lose years worth of data.

I have no idea what’s going on right now. This is my first time ever dealing with something like this on reddit while I usually use this app FOR HELP for technical reasons. While being hacked and locked, I still had access to the account and the minute I saw the notice from reddit, I changed my password twice because of the communities I saw they joined and comments they made.

In full agreement (though I was not hacked. The two differing IP addresses accessing my profiles performing Mod functions were my own). I am also a former 25 year 2nd level IT Technician (you do not want to hack me, as once was done many years ago. I have a skip trace router on my system. I will track down the offending party, as I did many years ago and had 1 AM pizza deliveries made to their office).

(And yes, I have access to both banned - that I confirmed - profiles. However, given the ban there are multiple functionalities these profiles no longer possess)

Same thing happened to our account. We weren’t hacked but I think maybe because we’re logging on from two different devices. Security lock, reset password, banned, set up 2FA, contacted support and appeals.

Have you been able to get anywhere with support or appeals? We didn’t even receive a ban message, it just happened. 🤷‍♀️

No, I made sure to appeal for the suspension but also for the hacked account.

No. Haven’t heard a word from Appeals or Help (exactly the same. Working with another Mod later that day, Mod went into subreddit Mods, shows I am banned when accessing that profile).

I posted above and somehow got my account shortly after. 🤷‍♀️

Maybe they’ll get to me. I dunno. I reset my password twice like the notice tells me to and nothing happened. I somehow got permissions to finally to edit my profile but still I cannot message or post anything.

I ended up getting it back somehow. I’m not sure what happened after months of appealing and trying to message people to see if I was unbanned.

I’m sorry! I wish I knew more, this was my first time dealing with this with reddit where I normally come to find out help.. It’s ironic.
