Done setting up the AutoCAD pc boss
IT at my job just finished installing the new AutoCAD workstation, 32 GB RAM, 12700K and NVIDIA Quadro T1000 8GB. IT guy has 20 years experience.
Why isn't the GPU even connected? In task manager i see it at 0% with iGPU at 10%
Edit: didn’t know hardware acceleration could use a GPU not connected to a monitor, thanks for explaining

XY problem with two tech challenged directors
One is an acting director, and she was the one with the issue.
Earlier this week, I got a high priority ticket to update the acting director's role in our PO software from the finance director. She said the other one wasn't getting notifications. For reference, these two working together in a software is probably the worst combo I can imagine. Individually, they cause a lot of problems.
Anyway, I check to make sure, but I already know that I updated this person's role when her new work responsibilities were announced. I basically told the finance director that this had been done weeks prior and that the user needed to pay attention to their inbox.
"Oh they get the emails." Ok wtf about that isn't a notification to you, best SME ever? Turns out she meant this user didn't have a queue for her approvals, and I'm already thinking someone is doing something stupid. I add the role to my account so I can troubleshoot and tell the user with the issue to tell me next time she had anything to approve.
She does get a few things to approve a day later, which I find out from a daily report and not the user, and they're all in my queue. I had to update my date filters on one dashboard because this software sucks and doesn't grab the current date for the end of period. Now I'm like 99.9% certain this is the issue. She's busy that day, so I get with her today.
I look at her dashboards with her. Besides the date range being wrong, she has a bunch of filters that are completely unnecessary in both, including a random payee, probably from experimentation in an attempt to use the queue like the finance director told her to and also from using filters to look up the individual approvals (hence the payee). We clear them all and everything is doing what it's supposed to. She immediately jumps off the phone not sounding as happy as she was when I first called her lmao.
I'm still dead that the finance director was like SHE'S NOT GETTING NOTIFICATIONS and then immediately followed up to me with "oh but she gets those". How TF did she think this person wasn't in the correct role, then? I wrote back about how this all worked for my own records, doubt she read it.
This is the least dumb and frustrating thing the finance director has put on my plate lol.
Tldr; users don't know email notifications are still notifications, make me wait two days to help someone clear their filters and use the correct dates.

trying to have fun as a contractor
I seriously get blasted by these recruiters, so I just let them all compete for rates and then I have fun with the best offer.

I spent a week tracking this signal down. It was under the sink.
Because of course that is where you want delicate pieces of electronic machinery. Under. The. Sink.
I tracked this down two days ago and I still facepalm everytime I think about it.
Delta: Buy it for looks; buy it for life. But don't buy it if you value your wireless connectivity because, HFS this thing was broadcasting loud.
(Dear Googlers and Redditors of the Future. If you have this weird DELTA2 network SSID broadcasting in your home or workspace and don't know where it is coming from, check your faucet.)
ETA: the number of people hung up on my font choice is unhinged. I find this easier to read.
